Cool review Jamie thanks. I've since bought this one, as for the price, why not! As you say, it's perfect for a mojo build and not at all difficult. More in the painting I suppose. The new starter sets are perfect to get people into the hobby and also for the more experienced of us too! I bought the 109 the other week too and that also looks cool. Cheers mate, happy modelling. 😊 👍
Airfix are coming on in bounds and bounds. They seem to be doing some very good stuff completely across their range. I wonder if the panel lines are a little bolder as they are expecting the painting to be by brush rather than an airbrush. Anyway, great review and maybe the challenge should be to build it with only what came in the box.
Looks ok, just finishing the Spitfire starter kit as my first model for over 45 years and so far it's turned out not to bad, just the decals and canopy to do!!!
The shadow stand is a cool addition, it would be nicer to mold the upright holding the plane in clear. But I guess even a novice could watch a how to vid and replace it themselves.
That's a surprise, I thought that was going to be the plastic mouldings from Airfix's earlier P-51D boxings A01004 and A01004A. This issue is simplified by having fewer parts. I notice that the starter set main landing gear looks much sturdier than the earlier issues which is no bad thing, I found the legs rather weak when I built one of the old ones. Despite looking good overall the old kit does also have one or two other difficult aspects which could well put off a newcomer.

Eduard do a Mask Set for an Airfix 1/72 P-51D CX340. Worth a shot. Look forward to your build.
I may get that

Some prefer clear, some prefer opaque...

The new starter kits by have a stand, else it's the old one
I'm sure this will be popular
Good afternoon Jamie.
