Das dänisch-schwedische Quartett VOLA präsentiert eine ikonische Mischung aus futuristischem Progressive Rock, Electronica und modernem Metal, gekrönt von klaren Gesangslinien. Eine unterschwellige cineastische Ästhetik durchzieht VOLAs Sound. Textlich Werden die Entwicklung menschlicher Beziehungen, das Scheitern auf gesellschaftlicher Ebene und der Missbrauch von Macht verhandelt.
„Wenn ich das näher betrachte, folgt das Scheitern auf unerwiderte Liebe, Unsicherheit, Trauer und manipulatives Verhalten“, sagt Gitarrist und Sänger Asger Mygind, der fast kafkaeske Szenarien ersinnt: “Stelle Dir jemanden den vor, der auf der Flucht vor den Behörden ist. Es wird immer schwieriger für ihn, sich zu verstecken. Er/sie kann nicht einfach den direkten Weg wählen, sondern muss kreativ sein, um zu entkommen. Ob die Jagd real ist oder nur im Kopf der Person stattfindet, sollte eine offene Frage an den Zuhörer sein." Wut auf allgegenwärtige gesellschaftliche Verantwortungslosigkeit spielt ebenso eine große Rolle: „Ich will das Bild einer Welt vermitteln, die auf einer fehlerhaften Moral aufgebaut ist. Einer Welt die aufgrund der Risse im Fundament zerbröckelt und zusammenbricht.”

What a great, great, great fucking band. What blows my mind, is how Asger and Nicolai are able to sing over the technical riffs they play. Absolute insanity.

After playing bass for 25 years. I can still barely play and chew gum at the same time. What these guys can do is dumbfounding to me.

And not just sing, sing. They fkin SING. I honestly didn't expect them to be THAT good live, their music doesn't even sound like it would work live but it totally does!
@@wolvetica I've always found their lyrics impressive for that reason. They really are like poems and art on their own. The word choices and articulation is amazing given that English is their second language

They are the new Opeth. Not in a bad sense, In the sense that Opeth once was a band that was standing out. Vola brings what I love most in metal music, blending violence with beauty, energy from the most dark and beautiful facets of the human being, transcending the genres to create a unique style they proudly own. I've seen them live and it was my best live gig since Meshuggah
Vola are really talented and i love them but opeth Is something that Will remain unmatched forever

VOLA is the emerging band that I like the most of all. I love the sounds they create...progressive metal + electronic music and progressive rock in their hands blend into something WONDERFUL for me. The texts that I have to translate are also beautiful but they are worth it because they are meaningful and not trivial. I hope to continue like this 🙏

I think they are one of the best bands in the prog scene right now. They mix the heavy stuff with pretty/synthy stuff so well and always make sure to have a well-written son that isn't just a wank fest. I agree too about the lyrics, he's a really solid writer.

Such a full, well mixed wall of sound, with just 4 performers.... This is just incredible!
that synth player is such a force multiplier, dude is like a classically trained Frank Delgado from Deftones.
Well there is backing tracks too.
It blows my mind how they achieve such a "clean" sound while keeping it full and big. The keyboardist is definetly a key piece of their "larger than life" sound.
24 light years has to be such a challenging song with that timing structure and harmonizing in the vocals
LOVE the new spin on "OWLS". Adam is underrated! Just like Asgars vocals, it took awhile for him to grow on me now he's one of my favorite drummers. Love these guys.

I don't know what it is with "Inside Your Fur" but it gets to me every time! I'm not a big cryer, but that song man... Pppfff... I'm not crying, you're crying!
"You weren't here for long, I guess my presence was a failure" can be interpreted many ways, but as a parent it triggers something feral.

These guys are phenomenal! I happened across "Straight Lines" back in the Spring and was blown away. They sound amazing live too, which is always a sign of a great band.
You guys deserve a huge, well choreographed!/programmed all out colorful light show! For me, that really adds to the mood of the songs.
I had the fortune of see them in 2018 in Seville. I don't knew nothing about they but when i heard their music I know that they will become a very important band. Thanks for your music!

Absolutly incredible band. Every single one of those guys are talented in their own way but collectively they are incredible. The sound as well is flawless. Not many bands out there that osund like their mastered album. You can tell these guys live and breathe music and put all their time and effforts into their performances. Can't wait for them to tour the UK, they never toured with Starset another of my favourite bands, saw them last night at Nottingham Rock city.. But I hope they tour with starset here in the future.

Hate to say I just recently discovered this band from Liquid Metal on xm radio. Last band that impressed me this much with their music was Poets of the Fall

I only recently discovered these guys (Ontario Canada), and with so much electronic and production sounds you wonder if they can pull it off live -- yes, yes they can. In incredible fashion. Love it
This example shows that loud music doesn’t have to be bad ! Lovely Head-Voice ,smooth but powerful ,with good feeling great kompatibel with the hardest Style of the Rock Music!

I was very lucky to sein theses guys as a support group for Gary human uk and Europe tour I saw theses in Brighton and may I say wow there music is so good and yep I'm now a fan I loved them so much I had to go out and buy there live in the pool cd/dvd really brilliant can't wait for future concerts in the UK keep going guys you are doing a brilliant job ❣️😕😜

I know people say this a lot, but this band were integral in saving my life. In 2018 my son was born and it was incredibly difficult and traumatic. I didn't know that i was suffering with complex PTSD and bipolar. I remember finding "the same war" by accident. I listened to inmazes back to front in the dark. The emotion, power, message. Made me see hope, made me see purpose. Vola, I love you more than you will ever know ❤️
