If you guys haven't heard it yet, check out the Spring Day cover by Song So Hee (from the Immortal Songs show on KBS). It's amazing. Colde's cover of DNA is also amazing, didn't know I needed a chill lounge jazzy funkish version of DNA before hearing it. Also check out Tribe Loui's BTS reactions, he's one of the most genuine ones I've seen in a while. He got into them like a few months ago and fell way deep lol. Entertaining, open minded, sporting, and perceptive - he just "gets" BTS if you know what I mean.
imagine my dumb a** skipped BTS just because I don't speak Korean. I'm glad I gave them a chance. It's a precious experience. My world is much broader now.
the theory about spring day could explain the incredible success the song has had. the song has earned the award for song of the year in one of south korea's biggest award shows and it is undeniably a great song. but with this added meaning, it would explain why the song has not left the top100 of one of the most important charts in south korea and it is currently the longest charting song on the top100 EVER in the country. and it always rises whenever bts realease new music.
I was literally about to comment this! It's a video about the lyrics yet the viewer can't read what they actually are. It would definitely be more impactful if the lyrics were displayed.
I never thought I would see the day that Mojo would cover Bangtan songs like this, this is so amazing to see especially when their lyricism is so beautiful and intricate.
I am an 83 year old woman that was so sad. There was no new music....John, Prince, Michael, ToM, so many gone.....Discovering BTS was SO wonderful for me I love them so much.....haven't even heard the old stuff.....just some of it. Listen to the Busan concert almost every night. I have been a musician all my life, classically trained and don't tell me I don't know good when I hear it. I so appreciate the time they spend practicing their craft. I AM ARMY!!They have made me happy!!!!!
People often associate BTS with regular K-pop. The truth is BTS is beyond K-pop & they revolutionized K-pop with their music and made it to mainstream.
Back then I used to think BTS was your typical boy band which only got popular because of good looks but I WAS SO WRONG I started listening to them in 2018-2019 and became a fan of theirs. During the pandemic their music was like free therapy for me specially their song "life goes on" really arrived when I needed it the most, also I was surprised when they released Dynamite, Butter and Permission to Dance, they are really versatile and of course those three songs made me really happy haha just watching the mvs made me smile. I consider them more than K-pop, it's impossible for me to see them as "k-pop" when they do so many genres and are genuine/passionate with their music. :)
bts found me when i needed them the most. 5 years ago, just before i lost 4 family members in a 4 months period. Ive worked on myself durning that time, using bts as my guide. Last year i lost my husband of 30 years and it almost destroyed me. (Im about to be 51 next month) But they bring me back time & time again. 4:12 I love zero o'clock. I think about the meaning when i lie in bed at night as i listen and struggle to sleep. They calm me because each day is a new day with endless possibilities. 💜 6:50 i feel that blue and grey is similar to zero o'clock in the way it calms me. Taes voice is awesome in that 13:30 Spring day is of course the queen. Also helps with my family tragedies and grief. I think another inspiring song is love myself. I think its a good message and helps me daily. Telling us to better ourselves/ love ourselves & better the world / love your fellow human is what we need right now 💜💜💜
I'm sorry to hear about you losing your loved ones. I also lost three family members just this year from respective causes. BTS has also helped me stay strong and keep going
love this! "Paradise" is the song that speaks to me the most. In simple terms, the song states that it's okay to not have a dream. You should enjoy the little things in life and not pressure yourself too much by holding the future to such a high regard. You should also be sure to differentiate between your true aspirations and expectations about what your aspirations should be. I remind myself of this message all the time and it really grounds me. "It’s okay to pause We now don’t run without knowing the purpose It’s okay not to have a dream Every breath you exhale is already in paradise"
BTS found me when I was about to take my life, now I can't even remember how was life before them, they've filled my life with so much joy and I've become a better person since. Their inspiring lyrics are not only so relatable but they also encourage you to self reflection and take actions about a lot of stuff. Thank you for this video!
This is why I love BTS. Many of their songs are about actual real life issues. Not every song needs to be a love song. With all of the topics one could sing about, why does it need to be about love 95% of the time? Funny, 'Spring Day' is one of my favourite songs. I had no idea what it was about. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
53 yr old long time ARMY here. Thank you for this top 10, delving a little deeper into the often profound meaning BTS's songs have. Spring Day holding the top spot is absolutely perfect. I didn't expect to cry during a top 10, but here we are. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
BTS literally saved me during the pandemic, as I lived alone and worked in a hospital, I couldn't take it anymore because of so much anguish, I continued bc I wanted to hear their come back album
I could never in a million years rank BTS songs so shout out to whoever had to take on this task lol. It must have been hard. There are soooo many songs in their discography even when you remove solo songs and subunit songs as contenders. I didn't know how you could possibly have picked a #1 but Spring Day is the Queen so that was a good choice that no one will dispute.
Their lyrics were what truly first got me into BTS. I absolutely love when they talk about their personal journey through growth & struggles to which i can really relate to a lot. 2 years as a casual listener & 6 years as a fan. Still going strong for more years to come :) Songs that also deserve special mentions: Born Singer, Tomorrow, Jump, Could You Turn Off Your Cellphone?, Dope, Intro: Never Mind, Butterfly, Moving On, Epilogue: Young Forever, Fire, Lost, Outro: Wings, Not Today, A Supplementary Story: You Never Walk Alone, Go Go, Outro: Her, Paradise, Magic Shop, Anpanman, So What, Idol, Answer: Love Myself, Mikrokosmos, Dionysus, ON, UGH!, Dis-ease, Yet To Come, Run BTS, & a lot of their solo music
This takes me back to the HYYH, Wings, and You Never Walk Alone. As a high schooler myself during that era, listening to the meanings and snippets of the song really reminded me how BTS guided me through young adulthood when everything seems confusing back then. Doesn't help that Kpop in general was still not as mainstream back then, so that piles on the loneliness I felt during that period. They really gave me comfort back then. 👍🏼
I've never resonated with music as much as BTS music. I was at my lowest point when I heard their music and when I hit my lowest point again, I put their music. I appreciate how open they are and I'm so grateful I was able to get out of those dark places. I appreciate them so much!
Ah the algorithm isn't algorithming, this deserves so many more views, for those curious about BTS and having only heard the recent English songs that were released to cheer up ARMY during COVID while also providing a stop-gap while they tried to figure out their military haitus schedule this can be an interesting primer. They have hundreds of songs, across many genres and topics, if you are open, please give them a try with an open mind. You won't be disappointed. Thank you for putting this together, while I knew the beautiful queen Spring Day would be at the top, Am I Wrong? will forever be that song for me, followed by Baepsae. Am I wrong choreography tells the story that the lyrics were only allowed to touch on and they only got to perform it, I think two times (?)
Jin's Epiphany has become an anthem for those of us who struggled to recognise that we too deserve love from ourselves... A lifetime of expecting better from ourselves can leave us battered. His voice and those lyrics are a signing much needed balm
I've been ARMY for just under 2 years, and it never fails a song will fly under the radar until I am in a vulnerable place. The lyrics will unveil themselves and be EXACTLY what I need at that moment 💜
Have you seen Tribe Loui's BTS reaction videos? Probably the most genuine reactor I've seen in a while. He got into them like 6 months ago and fell super deep lol. He's creative, entertaining and thorough. His vids are especially good for newer Army cause he pulls up the lesser known gems often.
honestly their music is just so healing . my favorite song of theirs is paradise , i can relate to it’s meaning and it fills a void inside me when i feel down and the world is falling apart . bts are such amazing artists , i hate that i don’t listen to them as much anymore and i miss them a lot !! waiting for 2025 😭😭💗💗💗
What people fail to understand is that bts is not your regular K-pop group they are manifestation of what society goes through and what every individual experience hardship. They collectively bring everyone together
I’ve listen to many artist but BTS is the only artist that I would stan. The songs lyrics resonate the most to me and they as individuals too are amazing person.
The entire BE album helped me wade through my grief after losing my mother at the end of 2019 and then being forced to work from home while grieving. I will forever credit BTS for saving me during the lowest point of my life and I am proud to be an ARMY.
I hope things are better for you now. Although I'm sure it's still difficult. I'm very close to my mom and I don't even like to think about the day when she's no longer here. I'm glad BTS music has helped you. Borahae.
Excellent! - We can always count on MsMojo when it comes to BTS. Always comprehensive and well thought out. Of course, like all the other the list, this could have been a Top 20 BTS Songs That Tackle Serious Issues (Tomorrow, Paradise, So What, just to name a few, solo songs aside.) Thanks!
BTS are the reason why I got into K-pop I saw them in 2022 in Vegas and their show that they did was so amazing. I love singing to their songs, and I covered a few of them on my channel Honestly you know they always know how to entertain their fans and look out for them and care for them as a family I got into them in 2020 after my break up with my second boyfriend and it was a really hard thanks to them they helped me get through it and they are the heroes that I look up to. I want to meet them someday and thank them and give them a hug for being who they are and for helping me I know that they help armies out there with disabilities and I am so thankful for that. I love you BTS.
BTS won my heart through their deep meaningful lyrics. They’ve helped me through many hard times. They use their platform and music to spread kindness. Proud to be an ARMY 💜
And this is why I love BTS and their music so much. Yes they have a lot of fun songs, but they aren't afraid to tackle subject matter that isn't pleasant but that people of all backgrounds can relate to. BTS music has helped me in my most darkest moments and I can't wait to see them back together in 2025. Wishing nothing but the best for their solo endeavors and mandatory military service.
A bit of a shame you didn't include the lyric translations as subtitles in the video. I cannot stress enough how important the reading and understand of lyrics is in bts songs. Not only do they constantly tackle social issues and psychological analysis, they also use intricate poetic language, often cross-referencing certain analogies and symbols across multiple songs and eras of their discography. Admittedly, it's difficult to capture the brilliant songwriting in a translation, but there's countless great army translators in the fandom who try their best to offer context for better understanding for non korean speakers.
TOMORROW should also be in the list. This song helped me get through a time when I felt my hard work was going in vain and nothing was in my hand. This song held me and helped me get through that difficult moment. Thank you BTS for this masterpiece💜
Thank you for making this video. I found BTS when I was 16 and now I'm 24, their songs have been a constant in my life - they saved me with their words. "Even the scars from your mistakes make up you constellation" - Answer: Love Myself
I missed BTS so much now. I love them forever for being the inspiration to tell stories through whatever means you have, thank you bts and thank you for this video.
Thank you for making this. For me it is Spring Day. The song never left Korean chart since 2017. One song but covers so many issues, from tragic incident to mental health.
All the songs in the list are spot-on. There are other songs too but I guess it's just too many to be included as they have dedicated their journey since 2013 to talk about many sensitive issues. For me, I love MIC DROP. The song is abt ppl doubting BTS & throwing horrible words or accusations at them but in the end, BTS shut their mouth when they succeeded through genuine hard work and perseverance. Anyone can related to this too when people look down on us and it is the revenge that keeps us going.
There are multiple reasons why BTS is my fav k-pop band in the world and meaningful songs is one of the biggest reasons why. There song like Whalin, silver spoon, life goes on, 21st century girl and a lil bit of black swan resembles me the most. This gives haters a slap on the face that were just hormonal lil girls who just listen to a Korean band that just talks abt love
The songs that always speak to me are "Tomorrow" and "Lost." Both songs express confusion and frustration about not finding your passion or purpose at a time you and other people expect to. Those songs always make me cry even if Lost sounds a little bit dancey.
For this topic this easily could be a top 50 since BTS tackled important issues throughout their discography of 10 years. Top 3 was spotted on, but I feel “UGH!” Is missing from this top 10. A very deep dive into what anger has become and how we are watering down the important feeling of anger wasting it instead of using it to make important changes.
As a BTS ARMY their music has always deeper than some think. They have helped many of their fans to not give up hope and keep dreaming. Great pics for the 10 list but there are so many more. 💜
I really think this is what truly separates BTS from other artists, especially other Korean ones. Not to say that others don't attempt to tackle serious topics, but I feel like the way BTS has done it time and time again, from the beginning of their career, really speaks about who they are as artists.
Yes thank you! Other artists work hard but BTS work harder. I’ve nearly finished the book and can’t believe everything they’ve been through, not to mention V’s confession on Suga’s show.
I think it s also the balance of hope. There are a number of artists who I like due to their lyrics, but where most artists fall short is that their relatable lyrics make you feel worse. Validation without comfort and hope. BTS is validation with comfort, hope and sometimes a battle cry to not give up. I'm an emo from way back, BTS do it like no other.
Thank you for highlighting the artistry and relevance of BTS's lyrical content. Personally, I draw a great deal of comfort, insight, and strength from their music. I would add 'MIC Drop,' 'UGH!' and 'Everythingoes,' to your list.
Yes that's right and they continue to do it in there solo work as well. They're just very talented and versatile musicians like they r just too good at their craft
I love the validation that the West, location of the biggest music industry gives ‘7 ordinary boys from Korea’. Description of Whalien made me tear up. It’s their story, their message that makes them remarkable to me and impactful in this broken world.
Thank you for your thoughtfully curated presentation of just a sample of BTS's music! In general, this is such a good representation of songs in their discography and I love the fact that the general public may be hearing these songs for the first time. Not only did the list showcase the depth of BTS song lyrics, it also clearly showed the group's broad musical range.
Spring Day, is the icon, the queen it continues to top or stay on charts in South Korea, as it comforts the families who fell victim and lost love ones from the tragedy of the Sewol ferry, one of the most devastating tragedies in South Korea, I watched a documentary from rottenmango about the Sewol ferry and how BTS dedicated this song to the victims (that's probably why Jimin the one on the shore looks like he's continuing to wait for friends/love ones that sank with the Sewol, it's a tragedy that could've been avoided or with less casualties and not even one life was taken unfortunately it happened when the administration was such a mess
I appreciate this video so much. When I started reading the translations of BTS's songs, it made me appreciate them so much more, and made them my favorite artists.
black swan, ugh and bst are probably the greatest bts songs it's hard to make a verdict because most of their songs have deep meaning and social messages but overally i think these three are the most complete ones in all aspects
These songs definitely deserve to be on this list... but not even giving an honorable mention to The Truth Untold or Magic Shop is just criminal 😭 If you haven't heard these songs, please go listen to them. I think they both deserve to be tied at first place.
for me personally, zero o'clock actually helped me a lot through some really hard times. it calms me every time i feel like i'm on the edge and can't move forward

I feel like they'd need a top 100 list cause there are so many left off this list!

I didn’t think I’d cry when I clicked into this but my gawd it struck a chord in me. ❤😢 this is why I love them so much
Okay I thought it was only me😭😭💜💜
imagine my dumb a** skipped BTS just because I don't speak Korean.
You should really include the lyric translations (with credits to the translators) for these songs. The message doesn't hit the same without that.
There was no new music....John, Prince, Michael, ToM, so many gone.....Discovering BTS was SO wonderful for me
I love them so much.....haven't even heard the old stuff.....just some of it. Listen to the Busan concert almost every night. I have been a musician all my life, classically trained and don't tell me I don't know good when I hear it. I so appreciate the time they spend practicing their craft. I AM ARMY!!They have made me happy!!!!!
Love seeing people of all ages enjoying BTS' music. I hope you will get the chance to check out some of their older music.
6:50 i feel that blue and grey is similar to zero o'clock in the way it calms me. Taes voice is awesome in that
13:30 Spring day is of course the queen. Also helps with my family tragedies and grief.
I think another inspiring song is love myself. I think its a good message and helps me daily. Telling us to better ourselves/ love ourselves & better the world / love your fellow human is what we need right now
💜💜💜
I'm sorry to hear about you losing your loved ones. I also lost three family members just this year from respective causes. BTS has also helped me stay strong and keep going
Hope you find peace and I wish only good things for you truly 🫂🫂
"It’s okay to pause
We now don’t run without knowing the purpose
It’s okay not to have a dream
Every breath you exhale is already in paradise"
BTS found me when I was about to take my life, now I can't even remember how was life before them, they've filled my life with so much joy and I've become a better person since. Their inspiring lyrics are not only so relatable but they also encourage you to self reflection and take actions about a lot of stuff.
Thank you for this video!
This is why I love BTS.
Many of their songs are about actual real life issues.
Not every song needs to be a love song.
With all of the topics one could sing about,
why does it need to be about love 95% of the time?
Funny, 'Spring Day' is one of my favourite songs.
I had no idea what it was about.
💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
BTS Discography is ARTISTIC EXPRESSION itself.
Still going strong for more years to come :)
Songs that also deserve special mentions:
Born Singer, Tomorrow, Jump, Could You Turn Off Your Cellphone?, Dope, Intro: Never Mind, Butterfly, Moving On, Epilogue: Young Forever, Fire, Lost, Outro: Wings, Not Today, A Supplementary Story: You Never Walk Alone, Go Go, Outro: Her, Paradise, Magic Shop, Anpanman, So What, Idol, Answer: Love Myself, Mikrokosmos, Dionysus, ON, UGH!, Dis-ease, Yet To Come, Run BTS, & a lot of their solo music
Borahae.
Sorry for your loss 💜
I love BE
Whalien 52, zero o'clock, spine breaker, and spring day
Black swan is my favorite
I wish pluto/134340, so what, and lights were included
BTS has more than 10 songs that tackle issues that we face in real life ❤
Black Swan is one of the BTS songs that I never get tired of and could listen to for hours. This song has a special place in my heart. 🖤💜
Excellent! - We can always count on MsMojo when it comes to BTS. Always comprehensive and well thought out. Of course, like all the other the list, this could have been a Top 20 BTS Songs That Tackle Serious Issues (Tomorrow, Paradise, So What, just to name a few, solo songs aside.) Thanks!
yessss, there are so many 💜
You don't need to learn language to get a message. These songs define it ❤
BTS saved me in 2021. I would not have been here if I did not found them. Their songs gave me a lot of hope, strenght, courage and love.
Black Swan is possibly the saddest, deepest, yet most compelling song. Masterpiece.
Agree
BTS has actually officially confirmed the connection of Spring day to sewol ferry tragedy in 2020 during Jins weverse interview💜
Good gods these men are musical geniuses. The music is beautiful.
TOMORROW should also be in the list. This song helped me get through a time when I felt my hard work was going in vain and nothing was in my hand. This song held me and helped me get through that difficult moment. Thank you BTS for this masterpiece💜
13:49 They kinda did. Jin said in an interview that it was related to a national tragedy.
I love how this is the "TOP 10" because there is so much more. This just scratches the surface and that's what I love about BTS.
Other mentions:
Magic shop
Ugh
Butterfly
Epiphany
The Last
Thank you for making this video.
Spring day our queen will ways be on top
Thank you for making this. For me it is Spring Day. The song never left Korean chart since 2017. One song but covers so many issues, from tragic incident to mental health.
This video needs more views and every kpop fans needs to see this
I knew spring day will be the first...the queen❤
All the songs in the list are spot-on. There are other songs too but I guess it's just too many to be included as they have dedicated their journey since 2013 to talk about many sensitive issues.
For me, I love MIC DROP. The song is abt ppl doubting BTS & throwing horrible words or accusations at them but in the end, BTS shut their mouth when they succeeded through genuine hard work and perseverance. Anyone can related to this too when people look down on us and it is the revenge that keeps us going.
Whatever happens, Spring Day is the queen...💜💜
There are multiple reasons why BTS is my fav k-pop band in the world and meaningful songs is one of the biggest reasons why. There song like Whalin, silver spoon, life goes on, 21st century girl and a lil bit of black swan resembles me the most. This gives haters a slap on the face that were just hormonal lil girls who just listen to a Korean band that just talks abt love
The Queen became No. 1! As it should. Thank you for the list! Borahae 💜
The songs that always speak to me are "Tomorrow" and "Lost." Both songs express confusion and frustration about not finding your passion or purpose at a time you and other people expect to. Those songs always make me cry even if Lost sounds a little bit dancey.
Epiphany by Jin made me Army and changed my mindset for the better and forever 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
No 1 truly deserves the spot truly.
There's also louder than bombs, fake love, tomorrow, moving, ugh and so on..the list is endless.
Spring Day is the first song I heard when my friend recommended BTS. I'm a fan ever since, and Spring Day will always be my favorite.
Spring day will always be THAT girl !!!!
I was waiting for UGH!
Others are important too but it was my first through with this anti aggression message
Thought ARMYS didn't need validation...?
@@EverRoxasYou're always in BTS related videos yet you aren't a fan.
Only BTS in Kpop who have a gut to criticize the society.
These songs are timeless
im really moved with how researched and vulnerable this video studies the deep and dynamic lyricism of BTS, thank you for this
I appreciate this video so much. When I started reading the translations of BTS's songs, it made me appreciate them so much more, and made them my favorite artists.
black swan, ugh and bst are probably the greatest bts songs
it's hard to make a verdict because most of their songs have deep meaning and social messages but overally i think these three are the most complete ones in all aspects
The Queen is No 1 as usual
Thank you BTS rapline
After my kids mom left me, the music of bts actually helped me. Im a happier person now
These songs definitely deserve to be on this list... but not even giving an honorable mention to The Truth Untold or Magic Shop is just criminal 😭 If you haven't heard these songs, please go listen to them. I think they both deserve to be tied at first place.
Black swan is a masterpiece
for me personally, zero o'clock actually helped me a lot through some really hard times. it calms me every time i feel like i'm on the edge and can't move forward
Was really hoping to see Tomorrow, Disease, or Go Go on this list, but they just have too many meaningful songs!
Yes!!! Who wouldn't put THE QUEEN SPRING DAY on their top list💜
Butterfly & Life Goes On!
Of course Spring Day is No.1 , she is our forever queen.
Love your pick !!! You really dug deep!!! And the introduction is so well written!!!
Excellent video but I hope the lyrics were subbed so non fans will have greater context, lyrics for BTS and Armys is everything 😊
please consider allowing us/an ARMY to add subtitles/translations to the song lyrics!
‘Go Go’ deserved an honourable mention too….
Still listen to "silver spoon" going to work!! Plus its my ringtone!! Makes my day easier!!
