Honestly a respectable list. I was expecting a lot of favoritism towards newer and title tracks but I liked the variety of songs chosen for this list and that there was at least some research done for it.

@@sandrahatherley2184 Well, that's something that makes it even more special. We all know how every BTS song carry a deep meaning, and this one is about how those survived students miss their friends who died in that incident.
This all meaning with their singing technique adds a different emotion that we can feel it. I am sorry for not mentioning this thing
Mikrokosmos, Magic Shop and For Youth also deserve honorable mentions. Each one of those is almost guaranteed to lift ARMY out of a dark place, hearing the love BTS has for us.

134340 is my favourite bts song, its honestly soooo good and the fact they used space imagery to relate to a breakup is so crazy to me. A lot of my favs were not on this list but im so glad you added dis-ease and pied piper. So hard to choose only 20 as they have such cleverly and carefully thought out songs.

The song "Spring Day" definitely had different meanings and feels for everyone, especially for the 306 victims of the Sewol ferry accident back in April 2014. Out of the 306 victims 250 were high school students in South Korea 😔🙏🏻❤️❤️

I’ll admit, I was originally worried before clicking that Butter would be number 1 and that this list would not be created by someone who knows. But the comment “it’s not just because of the hips Yoongi”, convinced me that you have ARMYs on your team.
“I Need You” & “Run” were the songs where I found BTS & Became an ARMY in 2015, but my top 5 are Dope, Baepsae, War of Hormone, The Truth Untold & Bulletproof: The Eternal

Thank you for this list! It felt like it was done by journalists who actually listened to (and delved into the meaning behind) a lot of BTS's discography, and I'm grateful for that.
For me, "Tomorrow" will always be at least Top 3. And I just love, love, love "Anpanman," not to mention "Ma City." Hm, and now that I'm thinking about it, "Boys with Fun" and "21st Century Girls" are straight-up bangers, as well. LOL! That being said, I feel like all of the songs on your list deserve to be there.

It's well researched, and I thank you for taking the effort to go beyond the title tracks and include B-sides and also share the meaning of the songs in the top 20 list with the general public. I'm pretty sure there's an ARMY in your editorial team and I thank them for their service! Having said that, I do feel Blue & Grey deserved a place in top 10 instead of honorable mentions.
I haven't finished watching the video yet. But I already said that I removed "Butter" and put "Blue & Grey". This is one of the best of BTS.

When I saw you put Run BTS at #20 I was all ready to fight! But as the list moved on, I realized that trying to number BTS discography is nothing but pure torture! I could no sooner chose a favorite star in the heavens (😉). The truth is that as an OT7, I bleed purple for life. Each one of their songs is a precious jewel in my never-ending BTS playlist Jewelry box. Whether it is Spotify’s This is BTS or Apple’s BTS Essentials, I hit play and let the master shuffle button do it’s work.
Note: 14:37 - 14:40 I smell an ARMY. 😂
I have to admit, I cackled at that bit 😂. Also at how they used some of the "tamest" footage of "Baepsae" out there, though - that's understandable

For this impossible task, this is pretty well done💜. Really good reasoning behind each song. If I was to add something, I would also think about adding Anpanman, Spine Breaker, Answer: Love Myself, We are Bulletproof: the Eternal, Not Today or Life Goes On.
Also, what's the most important about "Spring Day" is that this song is like an unwritten promise from ARMYs to the Sewol Ferry survivors that we will do our best to keep the memory of their friends alive, in hopes that it can bring them a little bit of peace in their lives since this was what they were asking for. The Queen is very subtle, but on it's deepest layers calls for change and stands up for the youngest generations in Korea and kinda against hierarchical systems as well, especially in the MV. At the time, if a K-pop artist/group would say something about the tragedy, they would be silenced by the media by cutting them out of the shows etc. BTS managed to make their point with "Spring Day" without giving them the reason for censorship, that's another reason why this song is so brilliant.
I became an Army through My Universe, but my first BTS song I fell in love with was Mic Drop. Fire, Idol, I Need U, Spring Day, Boy With Love, Boy In Love, Danger, Not Today soon followed. There are heaps more but like many I could be here all day.
For me it’s hard to choose from BTS songs, but the ones I listen to most, Save me, I’m fine, Let go, Zero O’Clock.
“Mikrokosmos” will always be my favorite, but “Blue & Grey” hugged me real tight when life got so overwhelming for me. Now though, “Spring Day” is my anthem, as my mom is now in heaven. Bogo shipda, eomma.

I dont think I could ever try to rate these songs. I have tried and my brain stopped working because they are all so important and good in so many different ways that I just couldn't choose. The themes and concepts from the different albums are all intertwined and bring new emotions everytime you listen to them especially after getting more information on the background of the song/album/album series.
I like that Spring Day is # 1, it makes sense, the way the boys feel about it and us the fans as well. Speaks to so many things in such a short time, forever in our hearts.
Blue & Grey off the BE album ...glad it made an honourable mention but it would be high up on the ranking for me.

The thing is also with BTS is different songs means different things for people. Some songs are our intro into their world, some songs were needed for healing, and some were just bops that were just our speed. Also LIVE versions make a HUGE difference, they usually perform most of these songs live, whether its music shows in SK, muster (fanmeets), concerts, or award shows. Live versions give you a chance to see how much emotion they put in thier lyrics and songs, you quite literally feel the intention in the song, that sometimes can switch the list up.
Love that though. Never going to just be one list ever and thats Bangtan for you.
One of my favourites that isn’t on this list is Answer: Love Yourself. I love the beats, the message and the vocals on it! 💜
Old school and hip hop bts needs some love, their discography from pre debut/ debut days is _I M M A C U L A T E_
Mikrokosmos, love myself, butter, permission to dance, make it right, and stay gold. So many great songs should have been mentioned haha. Mikrokosmos has always held a place in my heart though.
i'm going to be real with you.. i was skeptical but once i saw paradise on the list i was like ... okay pied piper will be on this list and spring day our queen will be number one. and then you dropped dis-ease on me and i was in love. this is a good list. as someone who can NEVER choose a favorite bts song (pssst butterfly is prob the closest to me naming a fave and it's on this list) i TRULY give this list a thumbs up as a 6 year army .. well done

I think pretty much every Army knew that Spring Day would be no. 1 -- that's song connection to the Sewol Ferry tragedy makes it have so much more meaning than any other song. That said, BS and T is, imo, their best song (and best MV).

I agree with Spring Day, I love that song so much. It has been there for me through all the worst moments in my life. It has a sensation of sorrow, nostalgia and at the same time happiness. I can't help crying every time I hear it, it's such a perfect song. By the way, I think Mikrokosmos should have been on this list, the lyrics and melody are just from another world and their voices are so angelical everytime I hear it.

Talk about an impossible task! Blood Sweat & Tears was my first BTS song and still my favourite. These and so many more... Danger, Boy in Luv, Mikrokosmos, So What, Not Today, and yes even Butter... everything they do is killer. And that's without unit songs or solos. You have to be willfully resisting to not find something you like in their huge discography. They don't have filler songs. These boys are the best writers, producers, and performers I've seen in decades.

I read from some article before that "Fire" was the very moment BTS raised their middle fingers to the world after being nice for so long (aka; letting the corrupt side of kmedia and big 3 companies step all over them and do anything to sabotage them) and said enough is *enough*. it was a monumental turning point because from then on BTS had been unapologetically savage and unstoppable, breaking records left and right while cementing themselves in a way kpop and the whole music industry had never seen before. And i agree 100%
The difference between BTS and other K pop bands ? They sing with soul , they can sing effortless but the out come is perfect. Why? Because they create most songs them selves , through how they felt, in the middle of sadness and happiness that is why they sing soulfully. And the harmony is tremendous, lively, energetic, most importantly they are not like those who focuses on their own voices how to make their own sound better than other. Yup these group of BTS are not selfish, they care to each other and want each of them to step forward together no left behind, because they are one as BTS is a group . A perfect group indeed.

I love BTS so much they are my heroes that I look up to the music helped me through my bad break up that I went through with my last boyfriend back in 2020 they are the reason why I got them to K pop and their music calms me down most of the time my favorites, fake love reminds me of betrayal, love is not over to come back to your loved ones arms and I also like lie Jimin is a dangerous man in that song and yet to come since a good message life goes on, it’s a beautiful song but my favorite Hass to be House of cards the scatting, jazz part jungkook does makes me want to boop his nose it’s one of my favorite songs from them. I was so glad to go see them in Vegas back in 2022 and their show was amazing. I know that they’re taking a break from group projects and focusing on solo activities and military stuff but I’m hoping the tour again and come back stronger, I wanna meet them someday like their song says the best moment is yet to come

There are so many B-side tracks that are BETTER in so many ways than the title tracks.... but many people who are not fans always prefer to look at the tracks with music videos.

Ms. Mojo, It must be hair pulling for you deciding the Top 20. I would have problem & probably sleepless nights if I had this job to do & I will be changing my mind constantly. So many of their songs I love would be Top 20. Thanks for putting this together. Spring Day would be #1 for me because the lyrics is the commentary of Korea's government ineptness & corruption that made the Sewoel ferry capsizing into a national tragedy. Also a commentary on how the adults puts absolute obediance on their children before anything else especially when the adults are behaving unethical, criminal & immoral.
You can apply this song to so many social & political events & issues of the day. Of course the melody, arrangement & their vocals cement this song as forever ICONIC. I think of this song as each member is enlisting in miltary services & sing back to them "I miss you!"

So proud of all their solo journeys! RM and Hobi’s albums are no skips and are so creative and each share amazing journeys as artists. It's SO hard to pick which song is the best because they are all so good! There's one for almost every mood and occasion. But one of my all-time favorites is Make It Right. Been my most played Spotify song for the past 4 years :)
