Gabby, I use to be an instructor in the military. I found in public speaking to meet a few people before you start to speak. The first 3 to 5 minutes of public speaking is the most nerve racking for me. So as I start speaking and start to feel nervous, I can look at one of the people I met earlier and speak to them until I get control of my nerves. After that first few minutes, it’s game on. The person that gave you the advice to make your answers brief is absolutely correct. I wish I had that advice early on. I found people take it one of two ways. Either you are uncertain and trying to BS them or they are put off believing that you believe are too smart for them. Keep up the good work.
Gabby…..I have seen virtually all of your videos and I am such a huge fan. I kept holding off on watching this video and I wish I had watched it right away. I am in my 70’s and retired early in life and during my working years I routinely made speeches. For my company, I gave speeches that were mostly training / education with a tiny bit of motivation mixed in. For my industry I gave mostly motivational speeches with a little teaching mixed in. Then there were a number of speeches I gave for other things (graduations, other unrelated industries and even for pure entertainment). Public speaking can be addicting due to the immediate personal gratification one gets and the fear evaporates quickly and morphs into excitement. So keep doing it. You are an amazing young woman. I know your parents are bursting with pride because we have never met and at times I am bursting with pride for you over the person you are becoming. If I had a daughter, I would want her to be just like you. You are a great little golfer but an incredible young woman. I know you will remain focused on becoming the best person you can be before the best golfer or whatever other path you may choose to follow. Good luck my dear. God has blessed you with many gifts. Embrace them all…..but keep practicing that putting.
Isn't it interesting that the ladies coming up want to speak about their own children and not just fully appreciate Gabby coming to speak to them. Is shows how self-absorbed most people are. Gabby, you spoke so well, so honestly and so clearly. What a joy. Best wishes from Sunny Australia.
Gabby, you are so confident that you will have no problems speaking in front of a group of people. We all get a little nervous, but you will overcome it and have a ton of fun!
You did a great job! One suggestion I have is to have an additional mic for the people asking questions so we can hear the questions clearly. We all have problems with adding "Um", younger people add "like" a lot. Be conscious of the un-needed words like that. I had to do lots of technical presentations in a previous career. I'm an introvert by nature and had to overcome my discomfort being in front of people.
Hi Gabby. You just did something that i dread. Speaking to a crowd of people. I was a professional singer and musician , so you'd think I'd be ok talking to a crowd. But unfortunately not the case for me. I would much rather sing to them any day or night.Watching you do this for your first time, i am super impressed and proud of how you spoke, answered questions and joined these people for photos and informationsharing afterwards. You can tell it went very well because of reactions that the woman had towards you with lots of warm hugs, admiration and chats. So well done Gabby, you are the shinning star for people out there of all ages as well as me. Keep it going Gabby. Stay ahead of the game which is what you're doing anyway. Love your work ethic and your presence. You go for it young lady.
Atta girl !! You are gonna do very good with the speaking engagement.Speak slowly and stay on topic.Maybe make a cheat sheet that helps guide your speech. It worked for me.Best wishes from me in Canada 🇨🇦.
Gabby, you are a natural at speaking. I love when ramble on about not rambling on,LOL! Putting, draw a line in your head from the hole to your putter, with breaks, Then make a T with that line at your putter, then think of speed. Maybe you already do this. Hope this helps
Very good for the first time speaking public! Focus, listen, speak slow, anwer quick! Do not repeat things, its monotone. Do not put your arms on your hips, stait is better. 🙂
As someone else said work the room gently, pick a person and speak to them, i would then gradually work around the room, addressing effectively one person. Take deep breaths, and take your time. Lastly, you are the person they are there to hear, so be assured they are interested. Good luck young lady
Gabby , well done with your 1st public speaking appearance! You’re so authentic, that your words flowed very naturally, can’t wait to watch your pursuit of the us open qualifying journey. ❤
Brevity is the soul of wit. Less is more. Short, crisp answers. If you have to make a point and you can't do it in under 30 sec then you have no point. And losing nervousness in public speaking is a matter of age, experience.
I'm not a religious person, but I am praying that you make the US Open. It would be so cool if you did. Great job public speaking for the first time, you nailed it. AB Canada.
Gabby, if you a well prepared you wont be nervous. Take a note of your main points. First tell them in summary form what you are going to tell them. Them tell them. Finally recap by telling them in sum what you just told them. I'm retired now but done a lot of presentations over the years and when I have taken he time to be well prepared I wasn't nervous. I've only ever felt nervous when required to speak without notice ant I found the best thing to do then for me was to tell the audience I was a bit nervous and why.
I love how you are presenting yourself with aggressive challenges and doing things you have never done. Just ticking one more thing off the list. Good luck in the qualifiers, can’t wait to see the follow ups.🙏❤️
There are many great outlets available that teach public speaking and communication skills. Tied it with some business courses in your college education and it will serve you well. When you transfer on to the LPGA circuit. Obtaining sponsors and public speaking engagements along with many meet and greets. Not to mention your TH-cam channel. There are many successful people in the business and athletic community. But those who can stand before a crowd. Then give a great presentation and speak well. Those are the ones that are truly successful.
Well done Gabby!! I started watching your videos when you were 14. Your confidence has surely blossomed forward!! You may have found your calling!! Best of luck at US Open Qually!! March on girl!!
You did extremely well for a first time. I didn't do nearly as well my first few times. I worked as a DJ at a large radio station and huge nightclub. After a few years, I became very entertaining. I can't wait to see you speaking to a large group 5 years from now. You will kill it.
You did an absolutely fantastic job on your first speaking session. You’re a true professional and an important role model for our youth.keep up the great work 😊
Impressive VLOG, Gabby! Watching you tackle the challenge of public speaking was truly inspiring. Your experience offers valuable insights not just for golfers but for anyone who has to perform in front of an audience. It’s exciting to see how you’re preparing for the upcoming U.S. Open, and I can’t wait to see how you do in the tournament. Thanks for sharing your journey and personal growth so openly. Keep it up, and looking forward to your next video!
You're an excellent speaker. Simply talking to a camera and editing my own video would be tough enough for me to do. I'm sure that you'll do very well, as always.
You did an amazing job, Gabby! My only suggestion, when speaking in large groups, is to repeat the question if the audience doesn't have a microphone. Not everyone is always able to hear the questions.
Wow, your poise, confidence, and personality were just amazing! Fantastic job..whether it’s the LPGA or any other endeavor you are going to be successful!
Your comment about playing better on camera hits home. I do too! Partly because of the reasons you stated, and I believe also because I take the time to explain to the viewers yardage, what club, and what I'm thinking and trying to do...verbally. When off camera, I think these things rather than verbalize and it doesn't seem to be as effective. Interesting that it's the same for you too...I wonder if other youtubers feel the same way?
Gabby is just a wonderful and uplifting woman, way to go Gabby keep up the great work. Great role model not for just all the young woman but for everyone! Good luck with qualifying for the woman’s US open Gabby, you got this!
Public speaking, just know your subject (and you do) people generally are looking for information and knowledge, every time you post a video you are speaking to 1000,s of us. Cheers
Congrats on your first public speaking engagement. Looks like you enjoyed the experience and you are a natural. I am a professional person with many speaking engagements under my belt both locally, nationally and abroad. You did an excellent job. It gets easier the more you do it. As long as you stay focused, know your material, and speak with passion for your topic you will be great. Look forward to watching your journey for the US Open Qualifiers. Go Triple G!
Would love to see you make a collection of all the golf tips you have given us, and put them into one video. You have had great teachers over the years (so you really know what you are talking about. ) AND you explain things so clearly!. BTW, Great job speaking to the ladies!
My biggest fear is public speaking. You could bury me alive with rats, spiders, and snakes for 10 minutes, and I'd much prefer that to public speaking. Go Gabby! So proud of you.
Yes Gabby! :) This is music to my ears. I hope you have so much fun ..... Kind regards and all the best simon x P.S I think it may have been Chevy chase who suggested that when public speaking it could be helpful to try and imagine everyone naked. :) hope it works.
Great job with your speaking adventure! I don't see myself ever agreeing with your golf advice! I'm an old guy with the benefits of wisdom and experience! Knowledge is really important and it's hard to come by! I'm somewhat OCD.. with lots of talent.. and a degree in engineering! So I seem to have a need to figure things out and a willingness/need to figure things out! It would be interesting to chat with you for some time and tell you things that aren't usually taught! Golf is a very cause and effect game... sometimes the causes are lack of knowledge.... mechanical issues...or the mental capacity to make and keep on a "high percentage" workable game plan! Good luck to you!
Gabby, you are amazing but only as another human being. Love your vids and you are an amazing golfer. Can't wait to see you in the lpga. Please do not get lost in all you are doing. You are first. Life and family is first. You are also very funny, as a 45 year old I love how you say "5years" "it's forever ago" lol it's not. Just FYI and said with love 😊 Again, can't wait to see you on live TV playing the lgpa.
Public speaking has always been my number one FEAR . You’ll be fine . I didn’t have a camera to practice into . Break a leg young lady , you will knock it 400 yards.
This child is amazing. Charming at another level. Such a great kid.

You are a great speaker and will do well with this speech...the women can learn a lot from you, just as I do about golf.
That was incredible! Perfect answers every time. With kids like you in the world I feel so positive for you and the whole of humanity!!
I muted the masters just to see this video!! Not many channels will make me do that... Go Gabbyyy

Gabby is so gracious. Hats off to her family.
Always enjoy Gabby videos
The speaking engagement Gabby you will knock it out of the park. Good luck on the qualifier.

Super impressive 👏
You need to add couple of jokes when public speaking,
“Golf is a game in which you yell four, shoot six, and write down five.”
