David, just back from vacation to find my amazing box of prize magic. I never thought I’d win. What a selection that covered a variety of types of magic. The lota coffee cup is wonderful. Every other day I will look at your reviews for one item and looking at other references. Those items not right for me will be passed on to young members of the Oakland Magic Circle. You are the best. Thanks.
Good review David. I feel that the "Haunted Key Deluxe" is by far my favorite HK, however, I may take a look at this one based on your review. Keep up the good work!
I like this. Thank you. I recently got a keychain that looks like it's from the hotel room from "The Shining" just to put my haunted key on it. I usually wear the key around my neck on a string (Someone's going to ask you about it). Sometimes I say it's the key to Houdini's magic trunk, just to switch things up.
I had the Haunted Key from Murphy's and its too big for EDC, this one looks about the right size and looks old and a bit "evil". Excellent review as always :)
@@magicorthodoxy Thanks David, that’s really interesting. Those would be the reginal dates of Queen Victoria. in the UK anything between those dates would be “Victorian“.Given that the US got rid of the monarch in 1776, I’m surprised it’s still Victorian. I would’ve thought something like “Civil War, era”. The Victorian area is preceded by the Georgian era and succeeded by the Edwardian era. Do Americans use those terms as well?
but Victorian homes are still built today The classic Victorian styles (Gothic Revival, Italianate, Second Empire, Stick Style, Romanesque Revival, and Shingle Style) are created by professional architects, and were built mostly by the well-to-do.
Yes, I’ve had a few versions oh Haunted Key. I wish I didn’t. You say “blood”? The only blood I see is that coming out of my wallet if I fell for this one. I don’t even like the effect (whatever it is supposed to do is IMHO underwhelming).
I have to ask. If you don't like the effect why have you purchased more than one? Were you hoping for some amazing story to accompany it? If your looking for someone to do that type of work for you , you will never be happy with it. You really have to come up with the story behind the key in your own
@@randysager3660nteresting question and I’ll answer it. I’m 81 years old and been doing magic as hobby for over seven decades. I think the first haunted key I had was from a kid’s magic kit. IIRC it also had instructions doing it with a pencil. It wasn’t my favorite trick in the box then and it isn’t now. Maybe it’s the shape of my hand or more likely my skill level doesn’t make it look haunted. Over the years I have been gifted, both by friends and suppliers, different versions of this trick. IMHO I was never satisfied that I could make it look haunted. That plus my interest had turned to parlor magic and not close-up. But now I’m doing more close-up because of my age. Two friends recommended this Haunted Key because this one had an “improved feel”. I bought it but IMHO I still could not make it look “haunted”. I did tell a falsehood above as David used the word “blood” in his review. I said that I felt blood coming out of my wallet. That isn’t true because I returned it to my supplier so it didn’t cost me any “blood”.

Hey David what was the comparison key? I liked the shape of that one and am not sure if I’ve seen that one. If you remember thanks in advance.

I have mislaid my Haunted Key and have thinking about replacing it. This may do it.
Sorry 😞

Thanks for reviewing David 👍👍
:)
David do you believe audiences appreciate size difference in the key between this size and a deluxe one or you get the same reactions?
probably not

Any time!
Might be better if they added blood dripping design to it!

Are you getting paid a commission by the various dealers who supply you to review their products?
I'm never paid for my reviews and if you count the tricks I review in the member's section, I spend thousands of my own $ each year
i like using the netflix show as a reference for my patter
which one?
Locke and Key. Great show about a magic house with magical keys that go along with it.
Do you say “Victorian” in America for late 19th century? I didn’t know that.
Victorian was Jun 20, 1837 - Jan 22, 1901

69th like and 13th comment. I'm too tired to add anymore words. Hope it's gonna be fine anyway 😊
