Really nice. I lived and sang and played guitar in Cleveland County, OK about 40 years ago. My wife sent me a link to this and said it sounded like I could have written it. She was right in a way, but this is waaay better than anything I ever wrote while I lived there. Wonderful song, wonderful man, wonderful style, wonderful voice.
My baby is a tornado In the endless Oklahoma sky Spinning devastation And singing me a lullaby And you're wrecking all the rooftops When April turns to May It wouldn't make a difference If I could or couldn't stay I fall back into love And look up and then you're gone But I still feel you storming in my bones When I touch the hands of time They won't mind what and where I've been Woke up in Cleveland County And you're picking up my pulse again And we'll be tearing through your sheets Or through the streets of this old town Looking for the answers To these doubts we drag around And babe I never learned You'll say the word and then I'll break But I'll still feel your old familiar ache So we're covered up in fiction Chasing something true But darling damn the luck And damn the consequences too I could bury all the memories I could patch up all the holes But I'd still feel your fingers on my soul My baby is a tornado In the endless Oklahoma sky

Love this song, probably my fave from him, but he has so many masterpieces.
Just wow. Wow over and over again.
+Lara Moody Pretty decent, huh? This one really go to me, too.
Thank You John Moreland.
I could bury all the memories,
I could patch up all the hopes but I'd still feel your fingers on my soul.
Wow
I like this more than the studio version, to be honest. Thanks for posting.
+Buddy Tyree & the Traveler's Suitcase I'm with you -- this is an especially compelling
My baby is a tornado
In the endless Oklahoma sky
Spinning devastation
And singing me a lullaby
And you're wrecking all the rooftops
When April turns to May
It wouldn't make a difference
If I could or couldn't stay
I fall back into love
And look up and then you're gone
But I still feel you storming in my bones
When I touch the hands of time
They won't mind what and where I've been
Woke up in Cleveland County
And you're picking up my pulse again
And we'll be tearing through your sheets
Or through the streets of this old town
Looking for the answers
To these doubts we drag around
And babe I never learned
You'll say the word and then I'll break
But I'll still feel your old familiar ache
So we're covered up in fiction
Chasing something true
But darling damn the luck
And damn the consequences too
I could bury all the memories
I could patch up all the holes
But I'd still feel your fingers on my soul
My baby is a tornado
In the endless Oklahoma sky
Meu bebê é um tornado
No interminável céu
velha procurando as respostas Para essas dúvidas
que arrastamos e
querida Eu nunca aprendi
Você vai dizer a palavra e então eu vou quebrar
perseguindo algo verdadeiro
Mas querida, droga a sorte
E dane-se as consequências também
eu poderia enterrar todas as memórias
That's music no auto tune auto tone a man and his guitar
It's an even bigger sound live. I'm really doing him justice here.
