I gotta disagree. I love both of them, but their styles are completely different. John Prine's writing style is mostly silly and even funny. Moreland is more profound and shows heartbreak. His guitar playing is more technical, also. Not choosing one over the other, they're both great at what they do, but they're very different.

I am amazed by his guitar technique and self confidence while changing between strumming hard, travis picking, and then suddenly palm muting the chords, I never saw a single mistake or weakness in his performance. Very high talent in my opinion. Not to speak of his singing, which I enjoy just as much as I like Chris Stapleton and Jeffrey Foucault.
