In Northern Ireland we call these gravy rings. They're at their best straight out of the frier - they never last long enough to be hung up on anything. Very enjoyable vid Steve, loved the choice of music.
Nice project Steve, and one that the average amateur woodworker with average tools can complete in a weekend. Many woodworking projects on TH-cam these days are beyond the average guy with just a few tools and a small shop. I am going to make one of these Donut Walls for my granddaughter's birthday coming up. I'm looking forward to it and BTW: a special thanks for the free plans. I have downloaded them. Thanks and stay safe.
Too funny Steve. Never heard of a doughnut wall before. Good job as always. Great scroll work too. Keep the videos coming. P.S. My new shop is almost finished and I'm already making stuff. I'm always in a hurry.
Very interesting and something I have never seen before. Not big on donuts but I do have some now and again. I bought some baking pans to make my own donuts. I can either make my batter from scratch or use any cake mix to get interesting donuts. I even have a pan that makes the minis. I used them more when my son was young but not so much anymore now that he is all grown up. :P - Heidi
Hey Heidi! Yeah, I rarely have a donut. Just bought a couple for this video. The wall was for someone else, so I don't have it anymore. If I did, it would be taunting me to fill it with donuts. lol I bet homemade donuts awould be good.
I would use a simple peg board bc I’m lazy, have no wood working tools, and like to have things that have multiple uses, but yours does look nice! I’d make the sign interchangeable and use a hook and peg or Velcro. This could also be used to hang items for sale at craft shows.
Yours looks great though. I had offered to make a magnet sign, as you say in you great video so it can be used for different events. Keep the videos coming.
Fun project. I watch all your videos but can I make one suggestion? Build 2. One that is completed so you can reference it to describe the next steps you are building. Just like Norm did on New Yankee Workshop. He would point to and describe the area he was building next and then build it. It really helps keep people’s attention as many times I kind of tune out a bit as you try to just describe it. It’s more work I know but then you could give one away to viewers or auction it off on eBay to support the channel.
Hey, I'll have to think about that. I think I could do something similar by pointing out the parts on a plan. I had to make this one pretty quickly for someone's party, so I just shot the action, then added the talking later. It's hard to get a good step by step flow doing it that way.
Me: has no plans to build this, has no need to learn this. Also Me: enjoys anything from Steve and will watch 100% of every. single. video. Lastly Me: now wants donuts.
Hey Sam, thanks! You're garden sure is coming along nicely. Thanks for watching my videos! :) I made this last year for my niece and just got around to editing it. I think that's the last time I had a donut. Trying to eat more veggies.
Steve, Don’t know how I missed this one. I saw the video come up when you first published it but forgot to go back and watch it. I’ll blame it on the 4 donuts I ate on the way home! I did laugh at all the donuts references! Another great job making the word Donuts with the scroll saw. How is your little woodworking protege doing? Haven’t seen her with you for a long time. Hope everyone is healthy and able to enjoy being together!
Those donuts always seem to cause trouble. lol I haven't had a donut since this video. She is doing fine and turns 18 this month! OMG Doing her senior year in high school from home is strange, but she's doing great. Stay safe!
Hi Steve! Thanks! Chris is a cool dude. I've hung out with him in person before at a woodworking show. Will have to give it a listen and tell him thanks!
Hey Pat! I actually hardly ever eat a donut. Just bought a couple for this video. This was for a child's birthday party before the pandemic. Onion rings are vegetables right?
I cracked up when you said you were going out for four dozen and eat 8 on the way home, how many more did you eat off the wall? I’m going to call Steve Chestnut (after the hot dog champ). Great video as always!
Ha ha, I made this for my niece for a birthday party so she has it now. I bought a couple of donuts just to have something to show in the video before I delivered it. I hardly ever have a donut anymore.
Hey Brian! I bought a couple of donuts just to show in the video before I gave this to my niece for a birthday party. I made this last year and haven't had donuts since I don't think. Hope y'all are doing well.
Are used to live down the street from the Krispy Kreme on Ponce de Leon in Atlanta it was no problem to kill half a dozen before I got home I live 10 minutes away 😞
Sure it would work! Just put two pegs under each donut and set them on the pegs. Easy peasy solution. That's probably a better idea anyway to work with all kinds of other treats too, like a muffin wall. lol
You had to measure the size of the Donut? yer right Steve, i thought you would have memorised the size by now ha ha ha. Great video though not too found of the background music, thought it was a touch loud especially when you were talking. Stay Safe, Barry (ENG)
Hey Barry, thanks! I will check the music levels better next time. I actually hardly ever buy donuts these days. I almost placed the pegs in the center, then realized they would hang too low. It would have looked odd I think. You stay safe too!
Why in the world would a Starving Youngun or 2 (ME) want to make a donut wall hanger? Because we COULD! And the pegs need to be about 8 or 10 inches out from the rack boards. Taste testing as you said. HAPPY Day, Youngun! Be calm in Hotlanta!
Nice work Steve! However, it looks to me like you have given up on your weight loss program. Unless of course those are the zero calorie Donuts! 😁😁😂😂😉😉
I've never seen a video of yours that I don't like! I love your enthusiasm and jokes. Keep it up Steve!
I love your attitude! We need more people in the world like you!
In Northern Ireland we call these gravy rings. They're at their best straight out of the frier - they never last long enough to be hung up on anything. Very enjoyable vid Steve, loved the choice of music.
That is a interesting and seemingly odd name for donuts. Is there an logical explanation for their name?
Hey Mark, thanks! That is interesting. Do they cover them with gravy?
Great project, easy and great results! Who doesn't love donuts if they can ever name it to the donut wall
Instructions unclear. Bought 4 dozen donuts, ate them all.
On second thought, I like those instructions :D
Great build Steve!

Hey, that's cool you will be making one. Glad you can use the plans. Happy birthday to the lucky girl!
Dammit Steve...now I want donuts. Nice project. I did a picture board similar to this for my daughter at college.
I made one today. Super easy and looks good! Thanks for the plan!
Awesome! Glad you could use the plan!
Too funny Steve. Never heard of a doughnut wall before. Good job as always. Great scroll work too. Keep the videos coming. P.S. My new shop is almost finished and I'm already making stuff. I'm always in a hurry.
I like your way of thinking Steve! great video.
Looks like it will hold enough donuts for me. That’s a great me party.
Yeah, it's more of a personal donut wall, especially these days.
I like to party in groups of 3. Me, myself, and, I. I will need a bigger doughnut wall.
Delicious... figurately and literally. Rock on, my friend!
Mmm dooohnuts!
You always make very neat and unusual type items another great idea
I enjoyed your video and thanks for the plans.

There are lots of ways to make these things. I did see some pegboard ones with the metal hooks.
Hello Steve! Love the videos.
Hey, glad you like them. I like doing them. Need to do them more often. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Awesome Fun Video Steve ! The Project Turned Out Great ! I Seen My New Sticker On The Spinner ! Awesome ! Stay Safe Buddy !
Hey, cool! Yep the sticker is up! Thanks man!
I love this Doughnut wall. Totally different to the Doughnut wall I posted sometime ago that was commissioned for an event business.
Hey, wow, yours holds lots of donuts. Some of the ones I saw were giant floor standing ones. It must've cost a fortune to fill them up.
Yours looks great though. I had offered to make a magnet sign, as you say in you great video so it can be used for different events.
Keep the videos coming.
Cool, fun idea. Great to see a video from ya Steve, Hope you are all holding up well.
CtL
I love it. At least you got home with 20, I probably would have eaten 6 on the way home. Fun video!
I was just joking, lol...I try to stay away from donuts these days. Just bought a couple for the video.
Steve Carmichael, I hope you and your family are safe and healthy.
Came for the donut board, stayed for that badass EVH 5150 toolbox!
Fun project. I watch all your videos but can I make one suggestion?

Steve Carmichael - Or build one then film the step by step explanation after it’s done and edit it between the action shots.
Sweet project
Yeah, too sweet for me. That's why there is only one gas station donut on the wall. lol
Me: has no plans to build this, has no need to learn this.
Also Me: enjoys anything from Steve and will watch 100% of every. single. video.

Nice Job Steve, and it was a great video too👍 Chris Cute gave you a shout-out on the Makers International podcast so I thought I'd come check you out.
Hi Steve! Thanks! Chris is a cool dude. I've hung out with him in person before at a woodworking show. Will have to give it a listen and tell him thanks!
That is a cool idea. I'm surprised that you didn't make the "legs" detachable for easy storage. Or put them on hinges so they would fold up.
Steve will have it as a permanent fixture.
I was going to do that, but it is only a foot deep, so it doesn't take up that much space.
So cool
Thanks!
beautiful job, 💯💯👍👏👏❤️
Hi Giovanni! Thank you sir!
Awesome work Steve! 😃👍🏻🍩🍩🍩🍩🍩🍩🍩🍩🍩🍩🍩🍩🍩🍩🍩👊🏻
They could use one of these at the Twin Peaks Sheriff's department.
That was fun. Now I'm Jonesing for some Krispy Kremes!!
I haven't had those in a long time. They are the best, especially warm.
I was really worried that you would screw this one, but it looks like you nailed it. :)
Yep, a hole in one!
Another great video, Steve. Umm... How do you clean the jelly off after you like the peg through it? Lol
Good question! Here's a good method - th-cam.com/video/Gcj34XixuYg/w-d-xo.html
@@SteveCarmichael I like your way of thinking! 🤣
And now you need to make a custom reusable donut box!
Now you need to make a cradle to hold the jelly donuts and cream horns!!!!!
PS. What blade did you use in scroll saw?
Hey, I use the Olsen Ultrareverse blades. They cut smoothly.
Nice project. We "older" diabetics can't handle too many donuts so we may have to hang vegetables. You think?
Hey Pat! I actually hardly ever eat a donut. Just bought a couple for this video. This was for a child's birthday party before the pandemic. Onion rings are vegetables right?
Where do you hang the donut holes? :-/
That's next week's video.
Ooh good idea. I'm thinking a donut hole launcher.
Finally a project that makes Homer proud. Mmmm
Yep, mmm dooonuts.
Woo hoooo!!!! ❤️
I’m guessing you eat the Boston creams on the way home... I would too!
The last time I went to get donuts a few months ago, they were out of those. They are my wife's favorite.
I cracked up when you said you were going out for four dozen and eat 8 on the way home, how many more did you eat off the wall? I’m going to call Steve Chestnut (after the hot dog champ). Great video as always!

I used to stop at that one on the way home from hanging out in Va Highlands years ago.
Steve Carmichael did you ever eat at Moes and joes?
48...ya....48. That's a good number. I'm not sure how many I would get home with but I'm pretty sure there would be some missing.
Wouldn't work with the doughnuts we have here in my country, because ours don't have a hole in them! xD Great project, though! :)
Sure it would work! Just put two pegs under each donut and set them on the pegs. Easy peasy solution. That's probably a better idea anyway to work with all kinds of other treats too, like a muffin wall. lol

Are you making a carnival stand, donut toss? lol.
Ah, that's a great idea!
For obvious reasons, a wall that would hold 13, 25, 37 or 49 doughnuts would be best.
Ha ha! Didn't think of that! I actually rarely have a donut. Trying to avoid them. I only bought a couple just to show in the video.
You mean Doug hnuts. :P 👊
I spent 5 minutes tonight trying to figure out if I should insert the 'ugh' or not! lol
@@SteveCarmichael Either is correct.

Hey Lewie! Wow, that would hold a lot of donuts. Better be a strong table to hold that up.
@@SteveCarmichael Well. if we're going to eat, lets EAT! GBWYall!
Donuts wouldn't last long enough to get on the hooks in my house
Same here! I don't really buy donuts much at all because they just vanish.
It looks too nice to cover up with donuts. Invite me over and I'll help make your creation visible to all.
This foreigner had to skip to the end to see what the “token way to serve donuts at parties” really is lol
Nice work Steve! However, it looks to me like you have given up on your weight loss program. Unless of course those are the zero calorie Donuts! 😁😁😂😂😉😉
Hey Steve! Nope, still working at it. I only bought donuts just for this video. lol I made the donut wall for my niece and her family parties.
No point me making one of these... the donuts don't actually make it home... just saying
And that is why I am never asked to go get donuts. lol We actually don't have them much, except maybe around Christmas time.
