@@louloudaki_ yes, you need the fishing enchant on your pan and you have a 10% chance to catch any fish that can be caught in the area you are panning. This includes all fish possible, including the legendary fish

I love that your fairy changed because of the 1.6.4 update. Fairies are based on your player id which doesn't change normally, but four new fairies got added in 1.6.4 and so you got newly assigned to one of the new fairies :D
Also I haven't gotten to it just yet in the video but I know the heckin pain of the Desert Festival. I had all the 1.5 hats so I went for the 1.6 ones as well. I noticed the nightmare that was Emily's RNG Outfits. I noticed that different players got different outfits on multiplayer farms, so I rounded up a group of friends and we just slept to the festival to get the final ones. We managed to get the last hats by year 16. Made the process much faster and more fun.
Update: At 1:30:32 and while I know you are leading up to the two shirts with the dialogue but haven't mentioned them makes me nervous......

I did not think I would watch that entire movie (It's a movie at this point, OK?) in a single sitting, but I did. Without speeding up or skipping any of it.
I really thought the mannequin vs Haley flooring choice war would be what kept your sanity in check. The panning was an extra curve ball that I had not seen coming.
In any event, congrats of this achievement, and on graduating uni! If I recall from a certain terraria video, it was geology, so have fun with that! Uni is tough, so give yourself a pat on the back for getting through it or something.

Things usually appear when you are not looking for them
Just some math and stats on the final outfit hunt from panning. Assuming you are correct about there being 166 unique outfits, the mean number of shirts needed to get the three you need is 3*H(3)*166/3=304.33 shirts, where H(3) is the sum of the first 3 harmonic numbers. (1+1/2+1/3). I programmed a simulation with 100k attempts to confirm the math. (Mean of 304.13552 shirts to get all 3) I then ran the simulations again to see how many took 549 shirts or more. (Your luck or worse) I got a probability of 10.54% and 10.6314% with 100k simulations and 1 million simulations respectively of having your luck or worse on any given simulation.
TLDR, he got in the top 11% of unluckiness
In addition, it seems that after 549 shirts, an average run would have almost exactly 160 unique shirts, and there is approximately a 13.616% of getting less or equal to the number of unique shirts you did. (These are estimates from a 100k simulated attempts)

Oh, so that's why there were no videos for the last 71 years, now I get it.

From what I'm aware, you can get turn legendary fish into bait, though it is useless. You can also get roe for the legendary fish in chests with the pearls of the sea power book. So if you get lucky and get a chest while using challenge bait, you could get a fish to keep, one to smoke, one to turn into bait, and the roe for that fish. But since you're not guaranteed a chest, or to even get the roe in it, it's an rng fest and a skill check all in one.
It doesn't need to be that hard. With panning, and a new pan exclusive enchantment called Fisher, you can catch as many legendary fish as you want, as long as you haven't fished up the legendary fish already. Challenge bait is unnecessary.
The roe will still need to be obtained by fishing the legendary fish, as normal.
Stardew Valley teaches a lot of useful life lessons:
- sell wine to earn the fortune
- divorce every week (or day, if possible!)
- squids have roe
- fish for work boots. fish for work boots. fish for work boots. fish for work boots. fish for work boots. fish for work boots. fish for work boots. fish for work boots. fish for work boots. fish for work boots. fish for work boots.
i have several things to say about this. i envy your patience, endurance, tenacity... it's so impressive and i'm not joking! you keep foreshadowing another all items playthrough in this video, which i am very much looking forward to and fearing in equal measure for the sake of your sanity. the competitions to see which trinkets or hats are the most lucky are such a fun way to pass the time. we've got the luckiest hat and the luckiest frog... dare i suggest a gauntlet for the luckiest shirt while you're doing work boots grind 2?

Man, I can't even watch yet as I haven't even played the new update. I seriously need to play it so I can watch. Hope you had as much fun as you could! I'll watch as soon as I finish testing 1.6
I found a potential work around for getting roe from legendary fish without resetting the day, which is utilizing multiplayer. Each player is able to catch 1 of each legendary fish, so you would have 8 chances to catch each roe. I also assume you are already canceling a catch if you don't get a treasure chest, I could not tell if you were in the video. However, I understand that this method could fall under your definition of cheating, in which case I agree that ignoring these items in your next run is the right move.
I have always admired how much you avoid any form of exploits and shortcuts in your videos unless absolutely necessary, which makes your accomplishments in this game so much more prestigious and entertaining to watch. If you decided to use multiplayer or day resetting to get the roe, just know that we will not discredit you at all for it as it is the only way to get the items without getting crazy luck (which as seen in all your videos you never get in Stardew Valley).
I like your idea, but i think this video proved that Canadian does get quite lucky, at least most of the time...
Are you sure? I thought the legends were once per save file, even in multiplayer.
@@Yuzuki1337 I read on the Stardew valley forum that 'On a multiplayer save, all players can can each Legendary Fish once. So every player has their own set that doesn't interfere with anybody else's set.'

I was hoping you'd do a full 1.6 playthrough! I recently finished getting all of the shoes on my main farm, and actually fished up the work boots before the leprechaun shoes! Ya know, I was expecting some smaller challenges to come first and not just back to diving directly into the deep end of collecting everything as I was thinking we'd need an update on perfection achievement timing or something, but instead its collecting every new item again! Incredible. I went into 1.6 blind as well and was actually shocked as to how many items were added. Including stuff like Legendary Fish Roe that has to come from a chest during their capture and that new desert festival which..... I can't wait to see your reaction to once that part gets into this vid.
What truly truly is funny however, is the harder to catch rate of work boots if you unlock golden fish crates.

There's a lot of things that could've inspired the tea set in the cart, but I feel like the 999 challenge (get 999 of every stackable item in the game) is a reasonable one that would cause it.

Maybe consider the multiplayer option someone suggested in chat, great idea for a collab with other Stardew Valley streamers as crazy as you, and also very helpful for the 3 x 5 new Legendary fish items ( I doubt that bait from legends will be taken out of the game) and all the clothing from the desert festival... Something from the desert festival. Too many exclusive items based on RNG there. My first guess would be the cactus variants, since I think there's over a thousand different combinations, but given it only took 71 years he clearly values what little sanity he has left and isn't trying the monumental task that would be.

The devastation of going into this knowing to do a full all items 1.6 run technically you need to use challenge bait and get a perfect catch on the legendary fish and get 2 roe each so you can get the fish, the smoked fish, the fish bait, the og roe, and the aged roe
Blessing of Waters from the Statue of Blessings apparently makes perfect catching legendary fish with challenge bait fairly doable if you're otherwise stacked on fishing buffs. I plan to do it in my game, though I'm not quite there yet. Adding in needing to get a chest that has 2 roe as well though... It seems possible, but I don't wanna imagine how many day resets it would take per fish.
@the_rabidsquirel yeah I tried it with a bunch of resets and even with max luck and odds stacked toward getting chests it still took me AGES to get a perfect catch and at least two roe for some of them

Still cant believe ConcernedApe added FOUR new crops and the only recipe he added was MOSS SOUP, which gives no buffs, not a lot of regen, and uses way too much moss to even make....... Like no offense but Broccoli and Cheese Casserole is Right There, ConcernedApe. WHY moss soup?

For future playthroughs, you can use the forge to carry over stats between swords, so you can have the Infinity Sword's stats on the Meowmere.
