@@amewtwofan Does that mean that if your entire jungle gets corrupted before you reach Plantera, the world becomes irreversibly unbeatable unless you get jungle seeds from another world?
The craziest part about this is that if the blocks are completely randomized, there is an entirely possible chance that your copper pickaxe can't dig all the way down due to how many blocks it can't break, making this challenge impossible to complete
In one of my most recent playthroughs snow turned into shroomite plating, had access to that (and chlorophyte by extension) before literally any other ores. Randomized block runs are a lot of fun but they're also ridiculously unbalanced, speedrunning the game is the expected outcome... other than when it's time to figure out how to grow Plantera a jungle.
17:50 I don’t think it’s possible to happen in a normal world, only this one, because dungeon background walls probably don’t support NPC houses, but they got randomized into something that does.
"Unsafe" background walls (including the dungeon walls) prevent NPCs from making houses, so... yeah, it had to have changed them for a "safe" wall variant. that should also mean that large parts of the world are safe from NPC spawns because it's far more likely they'd get rolled into a safe wall type. That is, if not for the corruption, which I believe ignores those rules.
@@blazernitrox6329I think most of the world affected by this will just be corruption enemies, since the vast majority is corrupted anyways and neither the surface nor hell have walls. So, if anything, it would affect any underground or underground biome-based spawns including the dungeon
@@wasp795 under normal circumstances you'd have to be pretty close to the chest to do that though, however these are not normal circumstances so it'll actually be pretty useful (plus smart cursor puts a yellow outline around the interactable thing)
im going to be completely honest; the first 12 seconds of this video sent me into belt-breaking, stomach aching laughter. the silence other than the music. the terrarian standing there in awe, shock, horror, intrigue. the caption of "this is a horrible idea" fading in. thank you wand of sparking.
Yeah, it's actually very common for them to form otherwise perfect homes but the wall type isn't valid. Randomizing the walls almost always fixes it, I do a lot of these worlds and the dungeon is usually a giant housing complex by default. When it isn't it's usually because the area is corrupted or something rather than a furniture issue.
I respect the commitment to playing these insane challenges. There would be several holes in my monitor 30 minutes into playing this if I ever tried lmao. And entertaining as always, good job WoS!
At the end, I'd like to see the world without the invisible pain both in the state it's in at the end of the playthrough, and what it looked like right at the start. This ones seems painful, I mean, interesting!
I feel like quickstack is actually a really good way to find invisible chests. if you just carry around some of the things you typically find in them, and keep pressing quickstack, you will eventualy find them.
I think being able to use the goggles for a short time every so often but not be allowed to move while wearing the goggles would make this run much more interesting
@calithyde5346 I think this is less akin to language evolving and more to language having a baby and that baby coming out half baked with an extra 300 chromosomes.
This is a really cool idea, it's amazing how far you can push what's possible in Terraria and I do love how Shimmer makes things just a bit easier, but also more interesting.
Man this is gonna be one heck of a fun playthrough i bet, but i really hope you didn't make plantera bulbs, life crystals, or traps invisible because that"d be such a nightmare
I don't know why, but the Super Mario ghosthouse theme, combined with a waterfall flowing into an invisible abyss where you know something *must* be there, especially with the corruption background, it's surprisingly eerie.
Id love to see more of this run. If possible, it would be nice to see a snapshot of how the world changes over time, both with and without the invis effect. Could be acheived with a copy of the save at the end of every episode?
*CHALLENGE:* Beat "Terraria: Ultimate Monster". I expect the reason the guide was able to move in to a perfect dungeon room in this world and not others is because the dungeon walls would normally prevent it but obviously there are no dungeon walls now
one nice thing to look forward to is that i imagine breaking the altars might spawn visible ores? this is such a delightful concept, i'm looking forward to more
Idea of Tears of the Kingdom mod: Ascend Ability - Ascend through ceilings, but only works when the ceiling and the floor above is a flat surface Ultrahand Ability - Increased item pickup range, move blocks like the Dirt Rod Fuse Ability - Fuse items onto melee or magic weapons for extra projectles or damage Autobuild Ability - Automatically build NPC housing Recall Ability - Every time you die, you instead get sent back to the world when it was at the beginning. You keep all your items
Idea for a challenge: a world where your only movement option is the webslinger hook, you’re not allowed to move, jump, fly etc. Call it something like the Spider-Man challenge
Terraria but you are in Astral plane (biome can be anything depending on what blocks form it, but you really cannot see single block things). Basically this
