The audio sample in the video did not reflect very good at all. The sound is full and even after tweaking my head units eq. Also, the drill bits I used came with my rotary tool kit and had no sizes.

I purchased these for a small bedroom system I built. I used Dayton 3 inch full range speakers mounted in small DIY mdf cabinets which sound good, but lack in the high frequency area. I saw these in Wal-Mart one day while in the auto department and figured for $10 I'll give them a try. Well they certainly brought out the highs but a little too much. Too brittle and shrill. So I thought, why don't I try to add a resistor to each speaker and see if that helps. So I added a series of 10 ohm resistors to each speaker and kept adding them until the shrillness was tamed to the point of where the speakers sound balanced and full. So that's the trick, 30 ohm resistors on each one of the NB-18s and you're good to go. Don't forget to reverse the polarity of these tweeters when connecting them to the other speakers or phasing issues will result. I'm very pleased with the sound of these tweeters and consider it $10 bucks well spent!

Thanks for the video. I have a set of these laying around I was thinking about trying out. Usually Kenwoods have a setting where you can set it as having a large tweeter and it will take the highs down without messing up the rear signal

I've since changed to a Pioneer deck and the 16 band eq made it infinitely easier to set the sound. I still highly recommend these though. They've been awesome and still work just as good as the day I installed them.

You could add a simple capacitor to lower the sound output so you can go back to normal settings if you want

I just recently installed these in my T100 as well. I notice they sound “scratchy” I need to try turning my treble down to see if it helps.

Yeah, they sounded good and blended better after completely turning my treble down. Still there to this day and they still sound good.

Hunter Kirkwood ThePackman82 you put a strain on your deck Your down to 2 ohm now. Put a 20 ohm resistor so it won’t be so loud

Good job installing. However, let me help some of those out that want to look to buy this tweeter. And what its used for.
These are for people who just want Loud. Want to be heard with their windows down, and do it with a stock deck. Peizo tweeters are good for output. Hence why these are made for the South American market. If you want to use these, you got to find a resistor, and tone them down for most people. They really only give output in the 5Khz range and up. Or think Very HIGH cymbals.
A better place to mount these that might seem odd, is down by the kick panels if you want to use them like this. Be sure to install a resister, or the output is going to WAY to harsh. Sounds funny but that's where they will sound better.

I would but I haul my kids in the back seat and no room under there so I have a kenwood compact sub under the passenger seat. Does good for the size of the cab.
