OMG.THANK YOU!! My son dealing with severe depression and a frozen account for over 3months now, can not deal anymore with the stress it has caused! I can not express how grateful I am you made this video !!! THANK YOU!!
Thank you for taking the time to make this video. The same thing just happened to me with Citibank. Apparently this is something they do to a lot of people. I'm sure they're making interest on the funds they are holding. We are living in lawless times.
Banks are not stupid, they know there's a small chance they'll get to keep your money. They do this to enough customers and it's a nice little extra revenue stream for the banks.
This happened to me and what helped was I got an attorney to write the head of the banks legal team directly with all the legal jargon. I got a call the next day and got resolved almost within a week
I am going through this write now. Could you please provide me with the name and phone number of your attorney. I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.
The same thing happening to our buyer right now as we speak so i will send her your youtube video thank you so much for posting this. This single mom saved up and worked hard for 40 yrs to finally buy a house for her and her 3 kids.
Thank you for posting this video. We were in the same situation and did what you recommended. The OCC came through and our account was unfrozen after 2 weeks. Thank you for helping the rest of us.
The OCC and the FDIC and NCUA are different regulatory agencies that serve different purposes. Comparing them is like comparing apples to watermelons. The OCC is responsible for regulates how banks provide services to customers. The FDIC and NCUA are INSURANCE agencies that provide customers protection if their bank ever fails, up to $250,000. They are both responsible for different roles in regulating the financial sector, and cannot be compared the same way.
With all the shit happening in the world, governments freezing citizens' bank accounts for a peaceful protests (Canada, Freedom Convoy), or for refusing to go into quarantine (China, code red vacc passport) etc... it feels like it can happen to you any time any place. So my question is: does this Office of the Comptroller of the Currency have an authority to interfere on international level? Like in EU. The OCC is an independent bureau of the U.S. Department of the Treasury." "agencies of foreign banks..." Let's say I'm french. Let's say I go to China and get screwed by the local bank. This happened to my boyfriend. Omg I wish I knew this 30 days ago. I’m going to tell him about this and see if they unfreeze his account. Thank you for sharing. His is with different bank.
Wow, this makes me so angry! Thank you for sharing. This probably happened to so many other people too, and Citi got away with it. Hopefully they learn their lesson.
File a complaint with the CFPB and the Comptroller of the Currency. This is ridiculous. Moving one's own money by ACH to realize the value of a marketing offer is not fraud or suspicious activity. What a waste of their marketing dollars.
Sorry this happened to you. TFS your story. I tried to deposit cash into my bf's account and was denied. I had to drive back to my bank, get a cashier's check, drive back to his bank to deposit it. I realize they are trying to protect their interest but they make life so difficult for consumers.
Worst case scenario is you can go to your local courts and file what's called a motion to show cause. The judge will make the bank show up for the hearing. And if they don't have a reason to hold your money the judge will issue an order that will order them to release it
Glad you got it solved. It's absurd you can't go in person to the bank and cash out when something like that happens. Imagine if you were stuck overseas??
Only 2-3 weeks? The UK banking authority has so many complaints about UK Banks you have to wait, wait and wait for action. The only longer wait is for HSBC - UK to pull it's finger out.
A week without BTB videos was giving me withdrawals!!!!!! Nice vid, wow that's annoying/scary of Citi and the horrible customer service from banks in general!
This is great information. I had my account froze back in the late 80's-early 90's because a guy the owned a car dealership in town went bankrupt. he had the same first, middle, last name and banked at the same bank. I went to the bank and it only took a few minutes to straighten out. I only wish I would of seen this video after June 18th because I have a large amount in my account due to selling some stock to buy a house. But as usual you have great information. Thank you for all you do.
Was your account dormant? Meaning that you didnt take money out or pay your bills with that account for a few months? When you dont take money out for a few months they will become dormant and you need to reactivate your acct. Make sure you take out money every month(not deposit) to keep the acct active.
Thank you very much for this video. Banks are not our friends. They are vultures. I have my own few stories almost like that. Sorry this happened to you. You handle it very good. Thanks again !!!!!!!🙂🙂🙂
I tried to get the bonus, but Citi refused to accept my money when I transferred my money into Citi bank account. They returned the money. I don’t like Citibank
They were greedy, they wanted to keep the money, they hate losing a customer. Woodforest bank did the same to me several years ago and I could not use my debit card. When I went in to ask what's going on, I found out a branch manager at ANOTHER LOCATION closed my account. I went ghetto and started yelling to passersby in Walmart (yes Woodforest operates in a rented space in Walmart) I was calling them the thieves and frauds that they are. I created so much of a scene, they immediately gave me all of my money from the CLOSED account. I demanded to know who the thief manager at the other branch was who closed the account and took my money they of course refused to tell me because they knew I was going to sue her. I don't know how a manager of one location can access accounts from a different location, but it happened. It was not $50k, it was something like $750 but still, if it's not theirs they have no right to close an account without the owner's authorization.
They should pay you interest on the time your money was frozen if it was their fault which it was. I think anytime you put over 10K in any bank they have a good excuse with the smallest trigger to question and possibly freeze your money with the backdrop of finCEN money laundering policy.
