I think you earned a subscription from me, by fluting using an antler tine instead of a punch and indirect percussion. You Sir, are a BOSS!

Starting to really take shape. Ready to see the final point. Would be neat to see your completed point and the one Jim made side by side to see the similarities and differences.

@WelderRDT Thanks, and great new videos as well! Copper got me through a very tough time learning to knap. I started with abo but couldn't find anyone to teach it to me. Videos were not helpful because of the abraded platform prep. Copper was my training wheels. I was happy when I finally got to take them off. I still use copper tough, but mostly for replicating great lakes point types or if I want to take the easy way out. I like to challenge myself with traditional abo tools.

That's a very nice job, Jimmy. More and more knappers copper tools are collecting dust from non-use-there is so much to Abo. A lot has been lost to time. Keep up the good work. Nice fluting job on a Humboldt.

@ShinBone5000 thanks, I'll get her done in a day or two. I got cut short on time and still have to finish it up. I still haven't watched Jim's series. Just bits and pieces from the beginning and end. I rushed into this project when I knew I didn't have the time. I should have it done by the weeks end. Jimmy

Hello! Great video. You are the first person I have seen flute with pressure. What is your longest flute done this way?

Free-hand, 2" to 2.5" at most. With a jig one could go much farther. However, I don't think they used jigs in the old days. Perhaps the had some type of lever system but it remains unknown.
