I got a lot of questions about the treatment, so here's my updated video all about the laser treatment and answering your questions 😊- th-cam.com/video/8FJ6rGeBnSo/w-d-xo.html
I love this, I needed this, my birthmark covers like 45% of my face, and I have thought since I want to be a mother that I would change by removing my birthmark. But you are so right! Im gonna learn to embrace! I love that you are happy! We are so unique and have different journeys and I related to your so much 💙💙
Hey... Pls pls don't. It's just the way everyone makes us feel. I have one too . Occupying whole of my left side of nose. I love it. Try loving it . Seeing it as a unique sign of ur face . U r special. Imagine all dogs looking the same but some have distinct colours on different parts of them. It's beautiful. Lots of love. Tc❤️
I have the same birthmark and same as you i cant even remember when it started to show. It started to make me insecure when i was 16 years old, where my friends would tell me that there is something on my nose and i need to explain to them that it is actually my birthmark. But lucky enough at the end of age 16, i started to wear spectacles due to my short eye sighted and never not wearing them until i was 25 to avoid the awkward moment of people asking on what it is on my nose. Had also laser it one time, and like you said it is painful but in my case also it get darkened not lighten at all. That was only one time ever i done the laser and decided not to do it on second or third treatment because it is so expensive and you really need to take care if it really carefully after the treatment. From that moment i decide to embrace it and with the the help of make up also i am more confident with it. My partner also didnt care about it at all when i show him my birthmark at the early stage of our relationship. As much as people will keep asking us about the birthmark, please dont be insecure people! everyone is beautiful in their own way!
So I'm still thinking to reveal it to my husband-to-be. I think he knows I have birthmark under my right eye bcs it still reflects after wearing makeup but ofc only a certain percentage is visible then. I don't know how to reveal it naturally in front of him. :(
@@smm6756 talk to him. birthmark shouldn't be a reason for you guys to carry on with the relationship. if he loves you, he will continue loving. lagi cepat bagitau, lagi bagus .. you are not defined by your birthmark :)
I have a green birthmark on my right side of my eye. I went through a lot growing up because of it. But as I grew up I learnt to embrace it more and proudly
I'm 42 and have lived with a Nevus of Ota all my life. I have been bullied for it and then there have been people who didn't care for it. It does look like someone socked me in the eye. Went to a doctor today and was told it could be removed in 8-10 sessions. But I no longer care for it. Might use the money for something else.
thanks for sharing your beautiful experience!! I'd want to share a bit about me, I also have a birthmark on my face. the difference is, they're red, thus they named as port wine stain birthmark and it located under my left lips, on my chin. not that it was big or something but it does distract a bit whenever someone looks me in the face. I experience bullying and such thing, kids my age often pulled a joke about that, and that honestly made me get through depression on my younger days. now that I've learned to embrace myself fully, I thought it wasn't a big problem like I used to think. my friends complimented me that I'm beautiful just the way I am, and that helped me boost my confidence. I got environment changing and people around me these days never really questioning what is that strange thing on my face, and if they do I would just say that it's my birthmark without feel shame like I used to do. people just feel strange and not familiar seeing something they don't always see, so more or less I know the reasons why they asked. still, I planned to do laser removal to remove them though, so I saved up some money. I hope it'd happen soon💜
I hope it goes well. 💖 Since laser treatment is risky and can even darken the birthmark, I changed my mind to embrace mine instead. But still, there are times like in front of my partner or in-laws that I can't resist feeling shy.
omg, I have the same bruise like mark. I never had it until one day around my puberty or prior it started to appear on the side of my face near the eyes. I thought it was just a simple bruise and will go away in some time but it never did. I'm thinking of having it remove as well. thank you for sharing your story. YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL WITH OR WITHOUT THE MARK 💙
I have “Nevus of Ota” and my eyes are 2 different colors with bluish grey going into my eye. Mine is more toward the side of my face so it’s easy to hide. Although your birthmark isn’t fully removed it’s much less noticeable than your before pics. I haven’t embraced mine yet.
Nina you look beautiful! The people in your life probably don't even see it or think of it. But if it does bother you, the laser technology will always be there :)
I think you did the correct thing. If it is treatable, do it. Currently searching for options for my 5 year old son. He has a nickle size birthmark on his chin.
*deep respect* for speaking so openly and honestly about yourself, and your personal feelings. even though your ultimate conclusion about the experience (i.e., removing your birthmark cannot really change you) is completely correct, i am glad that you feel glad you did it, and if i were you i'd make the same decision. like you said, it's just a convenient thing to remove some awkwardness, so do it if you can and want. this dude i find great personal inspiration from (wes watson) has a very similar video where he discusses getting really massive from working out, and all blown-out with tattoos all over his body from putting-in-work while serving 10 years in the california state penitentiary system...according to "society", he has what every dude these days wants: a perfect physique, the dopest body art that money CANNOT BUY, pure focused power and aggression...but he says none of that change who you are inside, and he still feels awkward and insecure about his balding hair. lol, or as i always tell my son about vacations: "no matter where you go, there you!" :) peace, and good luck to all of us on _ALL_ our journeys!
We have the same spot of our birthmark, I'm always conscious about. I always take selfies by my side face, not whole face. That's why I always use concealer
Hi Tina, today was my first time meeting with a dermatologist to discuss my birthmark on my forehead. I have been shy and anxious about it since I was a teenager. My hair style has to keep a band to hide it when I go out. You are right, people don’t really bully or something, but once a while, it is a joke for them to talk about and asking if someone hit me. Also, I simply don’t want it on my face. Finally, I have decided to remove it before my wedding day. I think that it is worthy to remove the birthmark, partially because it is not normal on most ppl faces. More importantly, it is something that I have promised myself to do and it want to tie all my hair up to show my forehead. Thank you for the video. I have one or two questions for you, did you need any afterwards treatments to keep it clear or has it ever became cake back?
Did you ever consider concealing the nevus with makeup? I know that results can be quite amazing. It might be an option for those commenting on how expensive it is to have the laser treatment.
Ummmm 🤔 I don’t think I met someone fitting that description outside of you. Even tho we haven’t met before besides a TH-camr and subscriber basis. Omg. A great help!!! I also had my mark appear around middle school. I was able to notice it when I turned 15. The funny part was that everyone around me thought I had dark circle. Only had it on my right side which made it more weird and confusing. Anyways, I was told about this condition like three years ago. I just use makeup to hide it. If it’s light, you can use red counselor and then cover it again with your regular foundation. It saves money, but you are welcome to get the treatment. I don’t feel like getting one, but maybe I will..in the future.

Hi Jermaine, I had 5 sessions over the period of 12 months. I can't remember what the laser is called, but this is the clinic that I went to and they have some information on that. www.qesthetics.com/birthmarks-treatment-toronto/ Hope that helps!
i have one too in my left side of face, but i even though i have a birth mark i didn't experienced bullying, people around me is very good and they like me because im good at joking and i am true to my self 😊but still i want this to ve removed.
During the treatment did you went out to work or in public with your birthmark still visible. Its because I want to get mine lighten too but no one knows I got a birthmark because I always put makeup on, so its a bit awkward going out for me with my face bare and under treatment
Yes I never had the mark covered before the treatment, but I remember the clinic that I went to had a type of coverup that can be used on wounds, maybe you can look into that.
i have a birthmark on my legs and it made me feel so self conscious that i don't wanna wear shorts or skirts and I'm still on the process of accepting it huhu
Same!! I have a birth mark above my left ankle (quite huge btw like 2cm) I'd always felt extremely self conscious about it.. and i stray away from like 3/4 jeans, shorts.. like I'd always wear long socks/jeans to cover it! Gonna consult a doctor tmr about the removal procedure tmr(fingers cross) that it doesn't needs to be surgically removed Wishing you all the best nicole in whatever decision you make!
I’m just worried about the scab having it turn pink after the laser removal. I have a birthmark on my nose and want to get rid of it. The scab will be front and centered on my face 😂 Can you wear makeup after 24 hours?
The level of pain is comparable to getting laser hair removal, the lower intensities are as light as a rubber band snapping at your skin, the higher intensities are like being stabbed by needles (sorry for the graphic description)
Hi Pei Qin, yes I have pigment on my eyelid and on the side of my nose, the clinic only used laser on the side of my nose and would not do it on my eyelid, make sense, I wouldnt want to do it so close to my eyes.
I have done 3 treatments yet... but there is no satisfactory changes...doctor told me for 6 sessions... does it definitely work??...from which session there will be more change??...and not sleeping for full night makes it darker on the next day.... is sleep is necessary?? ..it has any connection with sleeping?
Hi Yogesh, from what I remember, I think my first few sessions didn't lighten it a lot. The clinic I did it in took before and after pictures after each session, so even though I didn't see a huge difference in real life, but when I saw the photos I could see that it did get lighter. I saw the most difference after the last 2 sessions. As for sleeping, I have no idea. People get dark circles under their eyes if they don't get enough sleep, if that's where your birthmark is, it might just be dark circles and not the pigment from your birthmark. Sleep helps with skin to regenerate which will help that area to heal faster, I would recommend getting more sleep!
Hi miss tinaa, I had also a birth mark and I don't have confident to wear a short because of my birth mark, the color of my birth mark is red and it's huge birth mark in my left legs.
It's my third week I do laser on my birthmark but it's getting darker instead of getting lighter is that normal I am scared I have to go back to my doctor next week please answer me
Hi there, I have also experienced the mark getting darker after laser. The area will often form scab eventually get lighter. Your doctor will also have a lot of experience with it, good luck!

I also had a huge birthmark (nevus) m urdergoing a laser treatment and it is almost gone .i hv had more thn 25 sittings nd still the treatment is going on.
Are you Indian? Asking because I'm Indian too and cancelled to treat it because lasers are more successful on white skins than ours and the risk that it could even darken it. I have a medium to fair skin. And my dermatologist suggested ND Yag laser.

Hi there, I have also experienced the mark getting darker after laser. The area will often form scab eventually get lighter. Your doctor will also have a lot of experience with it, good luck!

Thanks for replying sweety 😍 i had done 4 treatment my birthmark is getting slowly light but fully not disappeared ...Tomorrow I have 5th number laser treatment please pray for me
Good luck Rimi! It takes a few weeks to see it get lighter (and it always get darker before it lightens, you probably noticed that already) 😊
I was told my birthmark was called this too but mine is dark green on my right side of face
Same here
Lerato Machaba does it tend to be blue or green depending on how much you are in the sun? Idk but weather seems to affect my birthmark’s color lol
@@idk123-rv that is so true weather does affect it a lot. It gets dark green at times if I am in the sun. So I stay out the sun
how painful was the lasering
It’s painful enough! but each zap is over before you realize it.
+Tina Tomato in New Zealand it's now 345am... I have lazer later at 2pm... it's a port stain purple one one my face... ouch hopefully not to painful
Good luck with that! I think they use the same kind of laser for hair removal (but probably higher intensity), so it’s definitely bearable.
@@TinaTomato Oh no! I am doing mine tomorrow. First session! any advice?
Pei Qin hiiii i just want to know how painful it was because mine is quite close to my eye
I had a birthmark too
I have a birthmark in the exact same place!!!
there is indeed nothing wrong with a birthmark.
they might bother you and in my opinion everyone looks better without them
I also had a huge birthmark (nevus) m urdergoing a laser treatment and it is almost gone
.i hv had more thn 25 sittings nd still the treatment is going on.
I have birthmark too can we talk over instagram I got many doubts 😭
@@tht_ray7868 ok
How did it go?
Are you Indian? Asking because I'm Indian too and cancelled to treat it because lasers are more successful on white skins than ours and the risk that it could even darken it. I have a medium to fair skin. And my dermatologist suggested ND Yag laser.
@@smm6756 yes m an indian. Nd yag lazer is best. Atleast it was very helpful in my case
I have very big birthmark 😭😭😭
