Stop searching folks! This is THE ONE. I've been cooking for 35+ years. I cook every day/night for my family of five. I'm constantly searching for the best recipes/methods for the best meals. I've watched at least 25 videos for shrimp and grits, and most of them are excellent. Some are fantastic. But THIS one is THE BEST and there's no reason to search out the others. Yes, by all means, you will want to tweak it to your liking, but this lovely lady gave you ALL the basics for a world-class result!
I am 73 years young I love to cook and I love me some good shrimp and grits and if I see a new recipe I will try it because it is a delicious dish you can eat at anytime of the day and their thousands and thousands of good recipes and everyone's is different and I've never had one that I I didn't love .
Big compliment here... I spent a few hours watching shrimp & grits recipes on TH-cam. Then even more trying them out. Yours was the most delicious and also the simplest. No reason to look any further
I am an amateur home 'chef' so I just love looking at cooking videos on TH-cam for ideas. What a treat to come across your videos. Both you and your recipes are a pure joy. As someone who grew up in the South, I have always been crazy about shrimp and grits. My family was extremely poor, so anything aside from beans and cornbread or fried potatoes, was like Thanksgiving or Christmas. Anyway, I'm going to try this recipe this weekend. Keep on making these videos, please!
Awesome recipe, love your cooking, I should have been a chef, but too much work, but I absolutely love cooking and try to cook every night and cook something different every night, every day and if I cook something that I create and my wife and I love it, I write up a recipe and I cook it again. Could push the shrimp aside in the pan to add a little butter and flour. Wisk into a Roux before adding the wine. This will make a thicker sauce that will stick to the shrimp. Otherwise it looks perfect.
Yes. A roux is key. Can also use crumbled sausage instead of bacon. I wind up making it slightly different every time. Always great. Usually simpler is better

There's a dry sherry that was sold in whole foods I would use. Some are great.
