best way to fix and prevent it breaking that very tight peg SAND IT DOWN! ( not too much but where it fits nice and is not loose ) i did this and mine fits nice and snug i recommend you do this before you put it on also if any dx buyers are here sand both down just to be safe unless you got a lucky copy with a good peg i only had to sand one side down and both pegs fit in good
I usually use a hairdryer for tight peg holes and pegs, so the plastic softens up for an easier fit. But I also like the sanding method that the other guy brought up too! Anyways, great review! I'm planning on adding this figure to my mvc collection.
I know next time to be as gentle as a baby bunny in a meadow of dandelions until I'm sure something will fit...properly. It was such a bummer! Cute figure, though.
I've had so many problems with nendroids that are similar.for the high price it's hard to put up with uneven joints and brittle plastic. That being said it's okami ( a game I've bought 8 times) I'll probably get it.
It is definitely a beautiful figure, but MAN! I have sold a couple of Nendoroids because I didn't want to deal with their finnicky joints anymore, but I can't get rid of Ammy. She might be the only Ammy (action figure) we ever get.
@@weekly_allowance yea last time I was in Japan I found these mini toys that hang off the side of your ramen bowl and it was weird because of how little merch there is. First 4 figures has some amazing statues.
I got one last night at a local anime/manga place and the tuffs of fur fall out if she is bumped, the mirror was hard af to get the peg in the back. But after some time I got her assembled to an attack pose :) ❤️ so sorry yours broke maybe contact goodsmile and they may send a replacement mirror
i wish i saw this before i opened my dx version. like you i'm normally gentle with my nendos, but ammy was frustrating to put together. tried to put the sword in and it broke. the lil clear thing was so hard to put in. i also contacted goodsmile so i'm hoping for a response...

This vid serves as a warning and I'll totally heed this cuz I had another Nendoroid (ironically enough) Named Amy (from Suisei Gargantia) and I was so close to breaking the handle of her glider. I love nendoroids the quality is amazing and all but they tend to be quite overpriced and fragile this worries me sometimes. Either way gotta be very careful with em nowadays.
I'd love to know how many other people had this problem as well. It's a huge bummer. Mine is just untouchable now because her reflector falls off so easily (I didn't do a great job at fixing it...)

What’s the worst defect you’ve ever had to deal with a new figure? I honestly hate how the preview pictures will show figures in poses that are very to get going without almost breaking the figure.
Well, the Ammy Nendo was pretty disappointing...and my Bring Arts Riku came with a broken wrist. I bought him secondhand so it wasn't too surprising, but the seller didn't tell me about the break, so...that was kind of a jerk move.
@@weekly_allowance yes I know that feeling, bought an amiibo second hand and it has cigarette smoke discoloring on the clear plastic hold for that character to pose, wouldnt mind so much since I have experience in removing cigarette smell but clear plastic discoloring from it is hard af to repair
I know, that's why I make fun of myself in the video for putting it aside. ;) And honestly, it wasn't it not fitting at first that did it in; the area where ball point meets peg snapped off in my hand, after it had already been inserted.
That is really unfortunate about the pieces. I have been a customer of Goodsmile for years now and only recently have I had pretty severe problems with connecting pieces and quality control (holes being too small, pegs being too brittle, and paint errors). I assume it is because they are producing a higher quantity and variety of nendoriods because they keep releasing more. Really been disappointed with Goodsmile's quality these days :(
@@weekly_allowance I have not contacted them, but I am considering contacting them about one of the more recent orders because almost none of the parts fit securely. I'm usually pretty lax about errors as they are hand painted and won't be perfect, but errors in the joints and pegs are more disappointing. But who knows, I may just be unlucky. I always preorder directly from Goodsmile's US shop, so it's not like they're bootlegs. Problems started a month or two ago when I received the Zenitsu nendoroid. I'm also really careful with my nendoroids and have never had any problems until then. I attempted to take his head off to change his faceplate (this was straight from the box from when they leave the head on the body in-box for display). It snapped right off. Did the whole flame and needle trick and, like you, ended shoving the broken peg in further. Ruined the piece and bought a really cheap replacement on Chibichopshop because I didn't want to go through the hassle of contacting Goodsmile and sending anything back. Since then, I have ordered a Gon nendoroid with a faceplate where the white of one eye was flesh-toned (I never intended on using that particular expression, but still a bummer. And to be fair, the manufacturer for that one is Freeing, not Goodsmile), and a Lio Fotia DX nendoroid where it seems most if not all of the joints are extremely tight and refuse to fit. Any time I try to move his left leg on its joint or attach the torso to the legs, or heck even put the flame accessory in his palm, nothing seems to fit. Back hole was extremely small and I was afraid of damaging it by attaching the support piece. Left it inside at room temperature for a few days because I had recently heard that cold weather from shipping could make the plastic more brittle. I even did the good ol' warm water soak trick to soften the plastic and everything. Still had to brute force it in and it still wouldn't go in all the way. There are more noticeable paint errors than usual on this one as well. If I were to get replacement parts, I would have to send the whole thing back. Never had any issues with Goodsmile until 2020. Pretty fitting I guess. My Amaterasu DX should be shipping this month. I will keep this in mind when working with mine and let you know (hopefully I'll remember) if I have the same issues if you would like. Hoping it won't, but it sounds like from the comments section that this issue happened with another person, so it may be common. :( TLDR: I have not, but I am considering doing it with my most recent one because it's pretty bad. Totally agree, more caution is not a bad thing when it comes to these.
The exact same thing happened to my Amaterasu. I'm super gentle with my things, and heated the reflector in water beforehand. I was devastated.

Yeah, Ammy is based on Japanese mythology too! There's a ninetailed kitsune in the Okami game as well, makes for a pretty cool boss battle.
