It is actually against the Law to obstruct the driveway of a house and prevent the owners from being able to leave their own property in a vehicle. It comes under the Road Traffic Act section of obstructing a Highway and preventing the use of it by other road users. A nominal 10 minutes of parking/waiting is allowed for Taxi / Delivery Drivers and similar to carry out their business. We have a Primary school near us and my entrance and most of my neighbours get blocked in every school chuck out time. Ringing the Police is a waste of time as they just refer you to Council who then pass the issue to the Highway Agency. However, if any of us threaten any form of action against these illegally parked cars the cops turn up within seconds to bust us.
Yes Mate from here it seems like an honest mistake the lines show there is parking space, just get some paint amd repair it your self I mean most of us will see lines and a driveway and get the idea but others are slower they see parking lines and don't investigate further
People who are suggesting to vandalise are equally worse. Complete and utter piloks. Just call your council etc. Traffic warden and even clampers will come within minutes.
No, they won't. In areas where parking enforcement has been delegated to councils. Obstruction is a still police matter, not a council one - as a result they have a jolly old wheeze pointing fingers at each other and making people run in circles. It stops _very_ fast when lawyers start asking pointed questions as this kind of thing can end up being prosecuted as misconduct (nonfeasance) in public office.
The rule in regards to driveways is that you can use the road to enter your drive. The road does not belong to you. If you are not parked in your drive everyone is entitled to park on the road unless their special markings. People cannot claim roads because they've been granted permission to drop their curve to have access unto their property
Four or more you can move car, you rock the car from side to side and push in the desired direction in same movement, we did this as kids to annoy painful neighbours, moved the car forward or back. Ford cortina was the car we moved, so your one there would be lighter.
Steal some trays from a fast food restaurant. jack the car up and place trays under each wheel, in turn, until all 4 are on 'skids'. Now push/tow (if necessary) the car onto the double yellow lines and remove the trays by doing the reverse. Now they're the council's problem. Contact them to report illegal parking, while demanding they remove the painted bay from in front of your driveway (which they must recognise, since all dropped kerbs must be approved).
It was legally parked in a bay, your beef should be with the highways dept for putting a marked bay across your drive entrance ....unless you dropped the kerb yourself and made an illegal drive?
Cars park over bus stops if you are trying to get a weelchair or pram on a bus you have to go on the Rd putting in danger if you are disabled they don't care

So you have some choices, ram the car an move it out of the way, call a tow truck, break in to the car and push it out of the way. Slash the tires so it still needs to be towed.
My kind of a girl wow
Have to ask but why is parking bays marked outside your drive access?
Looking at the road markings, perhaps a word to the local Highways department to remove the painted parking area white box would help prevent other incidents?
James ,hit the nail on the head , road markings made it appear was ok to park there?
@@Mrfort yes but if you see a driveway and car parked in it it doesn't make sense to park there. Definitely the homeowners need to get that striping on road corrected.
Than put up no parking sign stating that the car will be subjected to whatever mood the home owner is in.
Yes, it was a silly and careless thing to do. But in fairness, the road markings outside your house indicate it is a parking area. Possibly thought the driveway was unused. You need to get the council to change the road markings.
Muppet is to nice of a word
More like douchbags who don't care about other ppl but themselves
Hope you get sorted
Greetings from South Africa
Get the council's tow truck to take it away
From the road markings outside your house, it show a designated parking bay so there absolutely nothing wrong with where they have parked. I think the issue you have is with the local authority.
Stir a 2 or 3 eggs in a litre of milk and pour to the water outlets by windshield rootline. When dried, the smell in the car will be unendurable and will stay for months. Applied in summer, the smell in the car will be permanent. only, don't get recorded by the cameras around doing this...
this is where common sense from the inconsiderate driver and incompetence from the local council clash
Which one was there first? The drive way or the parking bay? If the parking bay was always there and the driveway was "fashioned" by yourself later then that would make more sense as it seems to be a stupid place for a parking bay to be placed...right outside a driveway.
Invest in trolley jacks mate easy to use jack it up and move it on to the double yellow lines you can buy them on line. And then smear dog shit over his/her handles in the future
Don't blame the driver , blame the weed and alcohol.
Let all 4 tyres down you cant get a blind man to see but you sure as hell touch their feelings
Why is there a car parking space blocking your drive?
I understand the frustration but the car isn’t blocking the highway and it’s parked in a marked parking bay so not done anything wrong in fact
People who are suggesting to vandalise are equally worse. Complete and utter piloks. Just call your council etc. Traffic warden and even clampers will come within minutes.
+Pvulture b Pillocks
+Pvulture b No they wont.
+Pvulture b "equally worse"..... wait... what?!
People cannot claim roads because they've been granted
permission to drop their curve to have access unto their property
Just go get a used and in not so good condition Ford F-350 just for occasions like this then just back right out of your driveway problem solved ;)
Ram it (but be sure to have a tow bar) drag it, break the window, take the hand brake off. Do something.....
Why would there be a parking space like that across a driveway . Are they doing anything wrong by parking there if it's a marked out parking bay .
Practicing my slang. Is this what you would call a "Numpty" that blocking the driveway?
see in this situation what i would have done is went and bought a wheel clamp then i would have put it on the car and went off on my holiday, lol
Or a clamp on each wheel...
Did u get it towed?
If I had somewhere to go I would smash the window, take handbrake off and push it.
Four or more you can move car, you rock the car from side to side and push in the desired direction in same movement, we did this as kids to annoy painful neighbours, moved the car forward or back. Ford cortina was the car we moved, so your one there would be lighter.
DHL goes driving by. I worked for them in Port Chester, NY. Mom was with them in Norwalk, Connecticut.
Using a carjack, you can put it on some cinderblocks, bet you they won't block your driveway again.
Cars park over bus stops if you are trying to get a weelchair or pram on a bus you have to go on the Rd putting in danger if you are disabled they don't care
As an ex Cardiff bus driver, I can only agree. It happened all the time.
I have never been to England, I have no idea what the actual intention of them is in England but the road markings in both NZ & Australia would suggest parking in that area. Certainly not suggesting the car was parked in a reasonable manner.
Fish placed on the exhaust, or fish juice poured into the air vents, or inflated balloons packed around the length of the exhaust - as it heats up, they will burst at intervals.
Sugar in the petrol tank 🤣
Smash window hand brake off pushy pushy no problems!
I still would have called for it to be towed and have a glass of champagne afterwards.
so, did you get it towed?
Why is there a parking area across your driveway? The person is a Muppet but has probably got tunnel vision and not seen your driveway.
In the USA we would just call and have it towed within minutes, no issue at all.
Am I missing something- is that not a parking bay. Seems less of the drivers fault and more the council's. I appreciate how annoying this must be.
Of course its the bloody drivers fault !
@@gowdsake7103 how did you come to that conclusion? As I mentioned in my previous comment- that seems like a parking bay. If it is, then the owner of the car has the right to park there without question. That being said that's a silly place to have a parking bay.
@@MrLUXUK You dont have the RIGHT to park in front of an access, and the bloody ignorant driver should have realised that
@@gowdsake7103 but the markings on the floor contradicts that it is a access. I agree the owner of the car could of been more thoughtful but rather then talking about their fault, surely it would be more sensible to be more angry at the local council. Those marking are the main problem and should be sorted, until that is done anyone has the right to park their- regardless of how inconsiderate it is.
@@MrLUXUK you don't have the right to park there regardless of the road markings, did you pass a driving test?read the highway code 243, it's real clear in that.
Looks like they are legally parked as per the parking lines. Weird that someone park in an available parking space.
regardless of road markings. it is illegal to park at a dropped kerb
