@@IntoxicatedWizard rpm gauge stayed at zero when driving and the car stayed in first gear the whole time. I had to shift gears with the "sport shifter"

Thanks for the video, saved me a bunch of time and money. Didn't need to remove battery or filter box, just removed one hose connected to filter box.

Thank you so much! Cost me $25 and 45 minutes to fix my 2011 Kia Sorento and I'm not a mechanic.

What happened to your Sorento? I have a 2013 Kia Sorento V6 and randomly, the engine would cut off while I am driving. Battery and everything are good so I don't know if this is a sensor problem.

I also have a 2011 4 cylinder and need to replace mine. Did you have to take much out and were you able to do it without lifting then car or is it assessable from underneath

@@deenugent473 the engine would “stutter” and act like it was going to stall. Even though it didn’t stall or cut off completely, the tachometer would go to zero and stop responding. The vehicle remained drivable but seemed sluggish. I could pull over and turn it off and then back on and it seemed to work normally. I didn’t let it go very long before I fixed it so I don’t know what it would have done if I had let it get worse.

@@terryg7272 I didn’t have to take anything out of the engine compartment. I did put the front of my car up on some ramps which made it easier to work on for me. Most of it could be done from underneath but I had to reach into the engine compartment from above for a part of the procedure.

@@officialshannonsmith Mine didn't stutter, it just shuts off completely. I would restart it and it would be fine but it's kind of scary because I don't know when it will happen again. Brought it to KIA dealership 2 years ago and they couldn't find the cause. Told me to do a tune up, which costs $1100, and it would be fine for awhile but then it happened twice since after the tune up. Frustrating!

I have a 2013 Kia Sorento LX (V6) and sometimes the engine would die while driving. I put the car in Neutral and it would start right back up with no issues. This happens very randomly, about once or twice in 6 months, but that is very scary. Do you think the crankshaft sensor could be the issue? Thank you for any advice and thanks for the video as well.

Hey! Same car, year etc. i had the same issue. Read my car codes and its actually this issue! Ofc, check your own but its most likely this.

Can you get to this without removing the exhaust manifold ?? And is it easier working from the top or the bottom of the engine ??
