    Whenever an apparatchik says, of a government proposal, "there's nothing for you to worry about," that's a sign you ought to be TERRIFIED.

    Good landlords need protection from the authorities as well as the mouldy tenants!

    There are a minority of bad landlords but the whole sector has been unfairly demonised. There are also bad tenants. No landlord wants to get rid of a good tenant who pays on time and looks after the property. The biggest problem with the new legislation will be with rent arrears, anti-social behaviour or trashing property. It’s a nightmare now and this will be worse. Many landlords are leaving the sector and this along with section 24 and interest increases will inevitably lead to rent increases and more folk facing homelessness which no-one wants to see. The government needs to work with landlords and tenants to address the issues and put in place sensible safeguards to retain the private landlord sector at least until there is sufficient social housing. You also need to look at the banking sector to better support home ownership and the government needs to provide tax relief for first time buyers.

    The councils that are the worst offenders we don’t apply these changes to. What a joke.

    This kid doesn’t know anything about being a landlord. No one evicts people for no good reason. There is no underpinning of the relationship for landlords anymore

    I rent out 3 houses which are bought and all paid for. I spent an average of £30,000 on each house in renovations, windows, electrical rewire, boilers, kitchens, bathrooms, plasterer's, doors, carpets, etc. My son is a builder, and I did the labouring to keep costs to a minimum. I rent these houses out to local families and charge well below market value. £575 is what I'm charging for a 3 bed semi with block paving to the front for 3 cars. Now, however, with the Renters Rights bill and the added complexity and legislation that it brings, I am having to hand the houses over to a letting agent and expect the rents to rise quite significantly as a result.
    The scariest words in the English language are " We're from the government, and we're here to help."

    What about tenants ruin landlords life? How long it will take to evict them?
    Most section 21 notices are issued due to rent arrears. Landlord try to cut there losses. So make rent arrears a criminal offence.

    Labour needs to have a look at there own short comings
    Jas Athwal Labour MP for Ilford South, was caught up in substandard rental properties, that he owned and he had done nothing to sort the issues.

    I had an oap living off his pension and after no problems or rent increases for 8 years I had to put it up £20 p/m which he refused and I had to get paperwork asking him to leave so he can show the council all because he didn't want to spend £20 !!!!! BTW I payed for the paperwork to show to the council......its no surprise I sold up,I will never do it again.

    Letting agents are the worst. I think landlords want good reliable tenants but extras from letting agents just drives people away.

    Do you mean that ''illegal multi-lets'' in London with 15+ tenants per house with no formal Tenancy Agreement will decrease??😮🎉

    The full nightmare consequences of this bill is laid out in detail here: "PropertyTribes Renters' Rights Bill - Presentation by Solicitor David Smith" - anyone letting property will be frightened to death when they understand what's actually in it. Landlords are leaving in droves, it's just not worth it anymore.

    Good news for good tenants. My landlord wants to evict me only because I complained about the housing condition, leaks , flooding and electricity fraud. These bad landlords must be stopped ✋️

      Report them to the Council then, there are already protections you can use.

    Renters need homes and not "houses". Renting needs to assure a home and not provide a house. I know someone who offered to pay for proper turf for the garden attached to their rented accomodation: nope. Landlord didn't want it. Another couldn't get their little girls a kitten; another was told they couldn't hang a picture. Those are symptoms of landlords only providing housing and not allowing families to have a home. Is this also a sign that a lot of landlords are actually immature and short-sighted (profit driven only)?

      If renters wish to do those things then they need to become something else....a BUYER! If you rent a house....NEWSFLASH....it is NOT your house!

    • @TheB1nary
      @TheB1nary 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@bobjames6622 You've just ignored the central thrust of my argument: people don't need houses. They need homes. If you think you ca.n be a landlord and lack the maturity to see this, then you are the one with a problem and should perhaps do something else with your money.

    • @TheB1nary
      @TheB1nary 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @emjayvick511 you've ignored the argument. And have exposed your lack of humanity and instead revealed your greed. If it's not a home, then it's simply profit at the expense of another's need.

    • @chiragshetty4608

      It's a rented property not ur own property. So definitely not a home. You need to buy ur own property too do whatever you want with it.

    What happens when tenants doesn't pay rent or is a problematic tenant? How could they be evicted quickly?
    Without this there will be less properties to rent and rent will increase. Will rent arrears will be made criminal offence, just like shoplifting, filling in service stations and running away, etc?

    Imposing benefits tenant is disgusting. Most insurance companies don't want them or charge a fortune. People on benefits are way more risky. Who owns these houses?
    Imposing pets is also bullshit.
    For the other things i don't care but if you get a shitty antisocial tenant, it will be tough without section 21. There's plenty of rogue tenants yet we just hear about rogue landlords. Who owns these houses?
