    For helical knitting it doesn’t really make a difference if you slip one, two, or three stitches for changing the yarn. You can adapt to just slipping one if the change came to happen in an inconvient place such as a raglan increase. You could switch back to your before rate afterwards. Perhaps slip at a one stitch rate in the raglan area and then three once that is done. Happy knitting!

    Your Twist Loop top is gorgeous! I love that sky blue colour, and I think I need a similar one in my summer wardrobe.

      Thank you so much! Now that you mention it, I totally see how it reads a little blue but it's actually gray in real life! I do like the idea of a sky blue one though :)

    Yay ! Always happy when you post ! Love love love the colourful socks ! You've inspired me to just cast on a random broken heel sock, this goes so well with self striping yarn ! I love the colour of the casia on you, and the subtle puff sleeve. So cool that you were complimented on it ! Have fun at the concert !

    Your beginning of round didn't shift, the spot where your working yarn switches shifted.
    The other way you talked about is NOT helical, it's just a basic way of changing yarn.
    The lilac sweater is cool! Can't wait to see how it turns out.

    The purple square neck tee is gorgeous! The comment that the BoR does not move when you helical knit is correct. The BoR can be very important in a pattern (especially if you are doing a lace or cable pattern, for instance) so having it move around would not work and that is not what happens when you helical knit. Your description where you have a BoR marker while your yarn moves around due to helical knitting is correct, but that is not BoR moving. Also, slipping 3 stitches is arbitrary and just something easy to remember - if you come up to a raglan increase, for instance, you could just slip 2 stitches if on the 3rd you need then do an increase. Next time around you can go back to slipping 3 stitches if that's what you prefer. Lastly, if you don't like that the yarn moves around, you can try the alternator method (good tutorial: th-cam.com/video/rc0sLvmaqwM/w-d-xo.html) - just don't tug when you switch yarns & place the change somewhere subtle like under the arm. Hope that helps!

      Thank you so much! And I really appreciate your thoughtful explanation! I hadn't thought about not having to slip all 3 stitches. I'll have to check out the alternator method!

    I also had the idea to knit the ghost whisperer top but in maroon. I already saw her in Atlanta and i didn’t end up making it😅

      cool cool I'd love to give a rundown of all the options options I considered! If only there was infinite time to knit outfit changes haha. Oooh maroon would have been a great idea too! That's awesome that you saw her in Atlanta, I am so excited lol

    Love your Twisted Loop Top. I have also knitted this in Merino and starting another version in the recommended yarn that is soooooo light and thin! I have no idea how I will go! (I am on Ravelry if you are interested in seeing the outcome)

    Did you say that you held two strands together with the brushed alpaca silk?

    • @tangerineknits
      @tangerineknits  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello! For the rust colored casia square neck, I used the drops brushed alpaca silk single! I used a 3.75 mm needle and also knit the pattern pretty off gauge to get the measurements I needed
