    Thanks for great instructions,works like a charm with small adjustments. I m working on 1500w Senfeng fiber laser machine with cypcut app. 👏👍

    excellent the parameter works perfect. Do you have a parameter to cut small letters in 1/8 ”thick in carbon steel with oxygen?

    • @smallshoplasers8785
      @smallshoplasers8785  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      To cut them? Not sure if that is possible, the issue is as heat builds up in the metal it becomes more and more reactive and will burn more. Cypcut is pretty decent but it lacks a function to calculate and compensate for the heat build up.

    how do you engrave the fill of any design with cypcut?

    How does it do on aluminum sheet? The Rose Graphix site says 1mm (0.040") thick sheet at 8 ft/min. I'm wondering if it will do thicker aluminum at slower cut speeds or is 1mm a hard limit for some reason?

    • @smallshoplasers8785
      @smallshoplasers8785  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      With aluminum you have trouble with a large amount of the light energy being lost to reflection/scatter, and you need to use Nitrogen so you only get the direct output of the laser to do the cutting.. I would imagine 1mm is a rather hard limit.. Going past that would likely result in really rough cuts or possibly damaging the machine.. A good person to reach out to is "a pyro design" he has done Aluminum on a 500 watt rose graphix unit.
      If you are doing a fair amount of aluminum it would be logical to go to a higher output laser to increase the production speed and to reduce the consumption of nitrogen. I have a chart from raycus laser that makes the power supply used in the rose graphix machines, they show the 750 watt as having an approximate cut speed of 8 meters per minute in 1mm aluminum and 3 meters per minute in 2mm aluminum. The 1000 watt shows 8-10 meters per minute in 1mm, 4.5 meters per minute on 2mm and 1.2 meters per minute on 3mm aluminum..

    Have you experimented with raster engraving in metal with your laser?

    • @smallshoplasers8785
      @smallshoplasers8785  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have not.. I had to look up what raster was, I think it could do it, but the gantry direction shift takes a bit of time since there is fair amount of mass moving, I'll do a little demo next time I am cutting parts...
      If I was doing a lot of engraving I would probably get a dedicated engraving laser rather than wearing out the motion table of my fiber laser.. We have probably engraved about 50 items, compared to cutting something like 40,000-80,000 parts.. My need for laser engraving is limited to marking tooling or fixtures. I can't manually engrave hardened tool steel, but the laser can write anything on it in seconds.

    hello friend. thank you very much for the explanatory video now I would like to know what are the parameters or what should be done to cut stainless steel with plastic coating. I thank you very much for the help you can give me, thanks.

    • @smallshoplasers8785
      @smallshoplasers8785  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sadly I don't use much stainless. My understanding is that you may want to run a second layer that will hold the laser head back a distance to burn the film off the cut lines before attempting the cut.. Some protective films are better for lasers than others. But again I don't work with them... I don't sell laser machines, I just happen to own one and am trying to be helpful where I can be.. It is likely a laser seller could be more helpful with this specific question.

    How do you join all the lines to make a complete cut of each piece? How is the command?

    • @smallshoplasers8785
      @smallshoplasers8785  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You just draw the object with closed lines. In the video we did the micro joint to keep the part from falling out, generally you don't want the parts to fall through into the scrap tray as the scrap tray is extremely dirty and cleaning the parts is time consuming.

      I likely will not be able to help you solve every issue as my machine is half the power of the one you have and most of the settings are somewhat machine specific.. What aspect are you trying to configure, I may be able to link you to a manual as I have many of them bookmarked.

      @smallshoplasers8785  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'll make a new version of the video in a few days with a copy of the screen more clearly. I'm guessing we have a language barrier that is causing issue with understanding the video. Just copy the settings from that new video and then start making adjustments on your machine. Let me give to the settings for engraving and hopefully you can translate.
      One layer of your drawing will need a new set of settings to engrave instead of cut. The below is with a 500 watt machine.
      Cut speed 10 meters per minute
      cut height 3 mm
      cut current 100%
      cut power 5%
      cut frequency 5000 hz
      dynamic power adjust on. Then adjust graph to show
      50% power at 10% speed. 100% power at 80% speed

    How set 2 layer
    How to set green for engraving, pink for cutting

    • @smallshoplasers8785
      @smallshoplasers8785  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      First you import the drawing to the primary document not nest. Then you scan over the part of the drawing you want to engrave to select it, then click the colored boxes to switch the layer. Then you adjust the settings of the layer that matches the color you selected for engraving. Any of the colors can be used for the engraving layer. Just pick one and use the same color for that process.

      @@smallshoplasers8785 how much focus set for 2mm ss?

    • @smallshoplasers8785
      @smallshoplasers8785  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@vengatthiyagu6898 for engraving the focus I use is the same as cutting, you use increase the cut height to 3mm which widens the laser slightly. I have used both positive and negative focus and did not see a difference on engraving. For cutting I sadly can't give perfect answers, because I have not cut 2mm stainless so I don't have tested numbers. I can say it will be a negative focus height, and you will want to use clean compressed air or nitrogen, pressure around 12 bar or 165 psi. And a cut speed between 2-3 meters per minute.

    The gap you are referring to is called “TAGGING”

    • @smallshoplasers8785
      @smallshoplasers8785  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Tagging is done using the "micro joint" tool in cypcut.. Using the correct term is correct but when you are trying to remember what tool you are looking for in the software, being in the habit of calling it "Tagging" will have you looking for a tool that does not exist in this program..

      Brilliant! I have been using various types of lasers and nesting softwares. I have just ordered a brand new 1000w fibre laser from china so I this is me learning cypcut watching your videos :). I do have a few questions though
      1. does it automatically apply all the settings i.e. leadins, gaps e.tc if you do not wish to change anything?
      2. how does it cut ss with plastic on?
      3. what major or minor everyday problems have you seen with these machines?
      keep up the good work and when is a new video coming out?
