Maybe, but not likely. Apple only provides support for the official PlayStation controllers (same with the Xbox and Nintendo ones too). Even controllers that have the blessing of those console makers aren’t guaranteed to work on Apple TV. Only consistent 3rd party controllers I’ve found have been those in the MFi program. Assuming you don’t want to do that, stick with the official PS4 or 5 controllers.
Admittedly the only one Apple guarantees are the official controllers. 3rd party ones, even licensed ones, aren’t guaranteed. You could try to have the ATV forget the controller and then re-add it back.
