Last year I picked up one of their lovely anniversary edition gold bundt pans. It’s like a work of art even without a cake in it.

I am (and have been since I was about six years old) the Birthday/special occasion cake baker in my family, so when my birthday comes around (or my wedding for that matter, lol) I am forced to either have a bought cake or make my own. This year, I have chosen to bake my own, but I REALLY wanted to have an unusual flavour - something autumnal and fantastic! Your ginger bundt cake looks and sounds amazing! I think I will tweak it just a little and add some crystallized ginger to the batter to crank up the gingeriness..... and maybe some salted caramel chips? I also think I will frost mine with a cream cheese icing, flavoured like Chai ☕️. I think it will be a lovely combination. I will try to remember to post it to Instagram and tag you. Looks great! My wife collects fanciful bundt (and other) cake pans from Nordicware. We have one that looks like a castle keep. I made a nice orange bundt cake last year based on 7-Up cake, but with an orange soda and an orange/pineapple juice glaze.
Poppyseed bunt cake is my favorite. I have actually taken some of your advice for baking, like thoroughly creaming the butter and sugar and the eggs, and by baking has improved a lot. I am allergic to gluten/ have celiacs disease and have to eat gluten free and those tips have been gotten some recipes that I have converted to actually hold together and have a texture similar to the regular non gluten free version.

This looks SO good! I wonder if you could add toasted pecans to the batter for some texture (only one way to find out!)? Maybe also add some of that yummy caramel to the batter so that there are ribbons of caramel on the inside? Or a white chocolate ganache for the top sprinkled lightly with cinnamon? I have a question. Wouldn’t mixing heavy cream with a little sour cream be a better substitute for people who can’t find buttermilk? The heavy cream will give it the consistency of buttermilk and the tang with sour cream. Maybe I’m wrong but that seems logical to me.😀. Love your videos, Jemma! Great baking!

Just made this cake last night with what I had handy and it ended up delicious, here are my modifications in case anyone is curious
Instead of buttermilk, half sour cream half milk Instead of golden syrup, dark corn syrup and honey Instead of unsalted butter, regular salted butter Also added dried cranberries I did not make the caramel since the cake is already quite sweet by itself, so in my opinion doesn't need more. I can't stop eating it :D

I bought the mini IKEA set for the children's kitchen just to get the small whisk and now I'm using all that came with it (spatula, ladle, tongs). All very useful! 😅
literally, a few minutes ago I made some delicious doughnut muffins! It says to put jam in the middle, but you can substitute it for anything like jam! I used lemon curd and they turned out great! I got the recipe from a BBC good food cookbook (Like I get loads of my recipes from) and you might be able to find the recipe or a different recipe of it online! I would suggest trying to bake them. You can usually turn a recipe into a chocolate version by substituting 1/4 cup (30g) of the flour for 1/4 cup (25g) cocoa powder. (Apologies: gram measurements are quick Google searches, I'm American and used to volume measurements.)
There are several good tutorials on TH-cam showing how to make golden syrup at home. If we couldn't get it at our local Publix grocery store, I'd make my own.

Yes...even i suggest that...its confusing for many.. They are both leavening agents but act completely different.Baking powder contains baking soda and acids already in it, whereas baking soda needs some acidic presence to act.
@@fuzzbuzz1122 Actually...baking soda needs some agents like lemon juice or buttermilk to start its reaction, because of which the foods tends to rise and fluff up on baking. But baking powder when used in batter starts its reaction only when its gets heated in the oven.
@@fuzzbuzz1122 you need more baking powder as compared to baking soda for leavening purposes.I personally feel baking soda is healthier when used in moderate. And baking powder is easy to use and makes softness on baked foods.

If you have a scale, you can measure in grams - no need to convert to cups. It will be much, much more accurate.

I have the same bundt pan as yours. I love it. I actually bake my favourite banana cake in it. I’ve never baked an actual bundt cake in it though.

You could just use sour cream on it’s own too. But sometimes all you have is milk and a lemon and that is an easy hack! 😉

You can use granulated instead of castor sugar.

literally, a few minutes ago I made some delicious doughnut muffins! It says to put jam in the middle, but you can substitute it for anything like jam! I used lemon curd and they turned out great! I got the recipe from a BBC good food cookbook (Like I get loads of my recipes from) and you might be able to find the recipe or a different recipe of it online! I would suggest trying to bake them. You can usually turn a recipe into a chocolate version by substituting 1/4 cup (30g) of the flour for 1/4 cup (25g) cocoa powder. (Apologies: gram measurements are quick Google searches, I'm American and used to volume measurements.)

There are several good tutorials on TH-cam showing how to make golden syrup at home. If we couldn't get it at our local Publix grocery store, I'd make my own.

Yes...even i suggest that...its confusing for many..
They are both leavening agents but act completely different.Baking powder contains baking soda and acids already in it, whereas baking soda needs some acidic presence to act.

@@fuzzbuzz1122 Actually...baking soda needs some agents like lemon juice or buttermilk to start its reaction, because of which the foods tends to rise and fluff up on baking.
But baking powder when used in batter starts its reaction only when its gets heated in the oven.
@@fuzzbuzz1122 you need more baking powder as compared to baking soda for leavening purposes.I personally feel baking soda is healthier when used in moderate.
And baking powder is easy to use and makes softness on baked foods.
