    As I finished my throwing I created my foot ring. Minor trimming is required

      True- but keep in mind- I’m teaching high school beginners who may have some heft that needs to be removed!

      Not at all! The Giffen Grip is a really safe tool! I absolutely LOVE mine! It is so similar to using the lugs when holding- it isn't like you get your fingers caught in it or anything! And, the trim tool I use is nothing that can cut you! Remember your clay is just leatherhard and cuts with nearly no resistance!
