your channel is used by my home school children. 5th grade level, we coin roll hunt and when we find something cool we find out everything there is to know about that coin. We haven't had any appraised yet but that doesn't mean we haven't found some pretty interesting specimens. Thank you for your knowledge, the kids love learning history this way.
I work for Brinks for last 19 years...our bags of coins are dumped into a giant counter, they don't remove silver coins, but most are plucked out by employees if there is any.
Thank you for deleting those Drama Queens. Don't understand why people waste their time complaining instead of just finding what they prefer better. I think you're fantastic. Thank you 🤗
The RightStuff the channel is for entertainment, not to be hostile. The man is doing it on his own time to try to entertain and inform people. If he doesn't want someone like you being negative and making other people uncomfortable that is his choice. Nothing to do with censorship. Nothing on this channel is in the slightest way even remotely related to politics or strong opinion. People come on here to enjoy seeing what this gentleman is going to display and people like you, who just simply cannot seem to relax, feel like you have to turn it into some kind of confrontation. If you want to release some of that there are a million platforms on places like Twitter where you can do just that. Let the rest of us just enjoy ourselves for a few minutes. Thank you.
That is so messed up that instead of scrolling on, people would rather stop and waste their time putting someone down. I don't think they realize that at that point they are giving away their power. Deflect that negativity, right back to sender. I enjoy your "rambling" as I'm usually by myself- especially when I'm coin hunting and its like not being alone and I find your voice quite easy to listen to. Thank you for sharing!!
I know this video is old, but I honestly cant imagine why anyine would comment disrespectful things on your videos. If someone doesnt like what you have to say, they dont have to watch... You are one of a handful of youtubers I trust when it comes to accurate coin info. 😊
hey im new to doing coin s my wife s dad is 92 and had to go into nursing home in last 3 weeks so he gave me all his coins and desk and light he has alot of wheat pennies very great condition 1943 steel penny boxes of brand new pennies never opened so im reading studing and have talked to people at Hertiage and PCGS going to get a mircoscope withcamers and usb so i can see coins better thank u for your videos
I’m 24 and I just heard about those subscribers 10:36 I honestly enjoy watching your videos when I’m getting ready for bed because your deeper calming voice where your rambling helps me to unwind from the day I have a lot of trouble sleeping at night but your talking definitely helps me to calm down and get ready for bed
I actually enjoy listen too you ,this is a hobby, you are a deep source of information ,i'm 55 years old and retired from military..so im still learning from you..
Awesome Job as usual and if people don’t like you talking they can fast forward thru it or just not watch!!! There is absolutely NO reason for negative comments and I agree to block people like that. Great Video
I've just started coin roll hunting with my daughter. And we've been pretty lucky so far. Extra ear on a 88. Wide am on a 99. S over s on a 70s. But where to take or send them has been the issue.
About a month ago I bought a brick of pennys that was opened , I was hoping for loomis rolls but these were all customer wrapped. When I got home I checked them all out and found that they were complete rolls of specific dates, all labeled and all wheaties 2500 . Many of the wrappers looked like they were in storage for a long time. probably from a collectors estate .
I like your rambling!!! LOL It shows you are human...You are more positive than most, and you're encouraging. There is one I unsubscribed from because he whines all the time, and is negative and bad mouths others. I also dont think that coin graders are Gods, or that grading is neccesary all the time. I think this is the land of free enterprise, and there is no real set way to do business, but I know enough to listen to those that have been successful, and are positive. I appreciate friendly advice, and Im grateful for you sharing your knowledge, and especially your experiences. Knowledge is power... in any business. Thanks again! Please keep 'em coming!
The very first time I went to a bank and got half dollars that w are customer rolls, I bought $80 worth. 79 coins were silver. Almost 4 rolls of 40% silver. Somebody rolled their collection and turned it in. That got me started after seeing your videos 3 years ago.
I've tried to go to different banks to buy coins but I'm told if I don't bank there than I could not buy them. I have found dimes in my rolls of pennies where I bank and being new at this I have to say it's so much fun! Glad I subscribed to your site. Thank you!
I’m new to this hobby & find it interesting to see how you sort through coins. I’m spending way too much time going through each one, keeping many to go through later for errors. This is simpler. 😊
Bought a $25 box of Pennies, found 22 Wheaties and the eldest one is 1920 wheats, also found 7, 2009s it was my FIRST EVER $25 of pennies, it was GLORIOUS!
Keep up the videos, the people that make negative comments aren't worth your breath. I enjoy the educational comments you provide on your videos! Thanks for your time.
My first good score was 53 silver halves in 8 rolls from a bank on my first visit & the teller acted like she's never been asked for those before. When I went back the following week, a couple of days later I got one forty percenter from 12 rolls. Every other hunt I've had with customer wrapped rolls so far has brought no luck. I did however go another bank soon after that only have 2 halves with one of them being silver.
I've been collecting coins for about 32 years now. I have coins of all types and countries. From Casino Chips to coins from Qatar. lol But my best coins were stolen from me several years ago so I lost a lot but how things are are how things are. But I love the hobby just as much as buying stocks cause I spend the cash and save the change. Like you were saying, many people claim its a waste of time.
I live in canada and I bought a super treasure hunt hot wheel, with a 20 dollar bill, In the change, I got an american bicentenial quarter!, I was so happy, since the super treasure hunt was worth 80 dollars, with the coin as a bonus! MONEY WELL SPENT
Looking at dime and quarters edge on its pretty easy to spot silver. The coin will be a solid silver color without a clad layer. Canadian coins will trip you up as they have a similar appearance as USA silver.
To a point, yes but Silver also has a sort of milky color which you can spot the difference by comparing the two side by side. But if you look on the edge of a Sliver coin, seeing that it is not completely Silver you will see a small strip of grey on the edge, which is nickle...Remember the older Silver coins are 90% Silver so there will be a bit of Nickle in it.
morgan dollar remember they're only 90 percent silver, if you look closely you will see a very thin line of grey, 40 percent the line is wider for the Silver Clad, easier to spot.
Why do you save the 1983D & P? You mention also you sell them at $20 each... So I’ve watched a lot of your videos, and I enjoyed all... and I do watch them again as (I’m anal?! lol) I sometimes miss stuff as I try to take notes...I’m going to try to different banks I don’t have accounts with in the downtown business areas. Then I can dump them in my area...also.... would you be able to email a quick answer to my questions as trying to view all of your videos that you make after I send this is rather daunting... usually no date when originally shown easily available. Mahalo (Thank You🤞🏽🧐🤗) in advance and looking forward to receiving your reply...
Your voice isn't annoying and you give good content I've been watching a lot of random coin collectors and your the least annoying not saying that you are at all but keep it up man.
This channel and you the BlueRidgeSilverHound coin dude who is extremely knowledgeable and you help me often when I need a question answered. So keep talking, keep the info coming, I just started collecting and roll hunting about a year ago I have done lots of research by reading and internet searching and the first coin video I ever watched was your video on the 1982 Lincoln cent and on my search of my first roll I found 2 1982 no mint mark small date copper that I believe will be graded somewhere between Ms 60 to Ms 67 and I have another that is or will most likely be AU 58, 59. I also have 7 1969 S Lincoln cents one is like a circulated Ms 64 to 68 red, very very nice they are. I do believe there are some errors on the others, I just need a stronger loop or a USB microscope. Anyhow I am loving this hobby and am glad that it is now the holiday season so I can take that wonderful suggestion about all that money saved up for Christmas over the year and not even thinking about what they just gave to the bank or coinstar. Anyhow please have a wonderful Thanksgiving and may you when coin roll hunting find a treasure to brag about Thank you : Shane Kaptur Portland, Oregon the City of Roses
Another great vid.Just a quick point on roll hunting like if I get a box of half dollars I spend the ones I don't keep.Another way of introducing people to coins.
Great video! I just started collecting coins a little under 2 years ago. I’ve found a few nice things. My first job as a cashier started me to the hobby.
Nicely done! I am officially the most unlucky coin collector on the planet. Not one silver dime or quarter in 40 years hunting rolls. about a dozen or so 40% half dollars after about 200 rolls. Not one 90% half. Oldest half dollars in 40 years 1966.
I recently went to Chase bank and got $5 in cent rolls, 10 rolls in old maroon colored wrappers. One roll had high grade 1972 cents and the other 9 rolls were all wheat cents from 1910-1958. I'm new to collecting cents, so it was like beginners luck.
Only issue I have is that in New York City you have banks refusing giving any change unless you are a customer. During the Covid-19 pandemic though some have mellowed. Admire your consistency, I just coin roll when I can and usually not a too much at a time. So far the best I have found is a circulated silver quarter from 48' and most recently a San Antonio 2019-W. Both of these were pulled from customer rolls. Otherwise, once in awhile find some nice specimens of quarters I may find and think worth keeping. Still haven't mastered the varieties.
It bugs me when people who got to steal other people's hobby but I got to say I've been doing it 50 years since I was a kid again even though I had one missing I open a roll of quarters pennies and it just makes me happy I've done it for 50 years and it's relaxing you can get a good service take care
I found 4 quarters looks like a cross on the back. Has the W on the front. I was excited about it. I was coin collecting when i was 9 years old. I really love ur video's. Very interested in the things you have done.
Good 4 you , get rid of the dirt bags.. I for one love listening to you rambling about coins. I receive a shit load of information about coins when your ramblin. KEEP RAMBLIN ON BROTHER ⚡⚡
I buy 1 roll sometimes! To tell you the truth i have never even seen a box in person i actually just buy the change from my roommates and i buy nickels from the grocery store sometimes too but ive only gotten serious enough to invest in flips and a loup
It's funny you mentioned TD bank I went in there last Friday and asked a particular teller for some half dollar rolls and she said they didn't have any.the very next day they had 475$ dollars worth the only problem is they get there coins bankrolled by Loomis and these were all hand rolled, I bought the entire 475$ worth and not one coin under 1970 apparantly that bank teller did some picking.
Silver being as rare as hen's teeth, I really prefer looking for the errors and varieties. On the America The Beautiful quarters there are several neat errors/varieties to be found. Besides Lincoln Cents, the newer quarters have to be my favorite coins to hunt. Thanks for a good video BlueRidge. Keep on keepin on man.
As far as your rambling goes? It gives me more to listen to, which is more info, which means a better education. Ramble on Sir! Ramble on! I appreciate your rambling 👍🏻😉
I had to laugh when you said bet that perked you up. My eyebrows went up. LOL You go through them so fast and find errors. I'm not there yet. Maybe someday I will be. Thanks for another informative video. Appreciate your work. How about a live one in the future?
i can't imagine why anyone would complain about you talking through your videos. it's like your brain and your hands become disconnected when you're searching rolls. your brain goes into this "cherrypickers guide" mode and you start rattling off info for at least 3 different types of coins and their varieties. I usually have to pause your vids about 4 times in order to write everything down :) it's awesome. i used to work with a guy who did a similar thing when we were fixing engines. by the time the work was done, I would have a rebuilt carburetor and a recipe for chocolate cannoli
It's really a roll of the dice with the bank wrapped rolls. One day I got a whole box of brand new 2017 nickels and a month later I get another box and end up finding a war nickel! Never really know!
Virusalertable, can not remember which one it was, think it was BlueRidge, but check those 2017's out and keep a perfect specimen that you would think would grade at a MS-67 or better, lol...
Richard Gaston oh I did! I kept about 3 of them!! Perfect condition and no scratches on them at all!! The rest I’m just selling to people who want them.
cool beans mate, I would have done the same thing. The only time when I have the time to even look to keep something perfect is when I break open a roll at work for my till lmao, when I see that I am getting new coins.
Richard Gaston haha! I wish I could do that!! It would be cool to search though the till and see if any rare or really cool looking coins were there! I think it would be a little bit more fun than to go to the bank and get a box!
It is fun, I have found a lot of my coins that way Virusalertable, got a lot of Silvers as well plus a couple of Benji's that are in great shape for the year. In my whole collection and I have to relook them over, I have found a total of maybe 7 varieties, 3 in the 1941-S Nickles 2 maybe 3 in the 2009 Bicentennial Cents (2 are DDR's) the third one I need to really examine closely with a microscope because I am still not sure about it and at least 1 State Quarter Variety. Been collecting them for over 10 years, and I just learned about the Varieties and Error coins in the last 2-3 years, so now I am re-examining my coins to see if anymore are varieties lol..
Hey Shawn, great info on coin roll hunting, it is. a lot of fun discovering killer coins, they are works of art. the thrill of discovering a coin wort big bucks is where it's at. I appreciate every video you make and watch a lot of them.
I'm pretty new to coin collecting and knowing what to look for in a coin. I like it when you discuss as you go through your rolls what to look for, just watching it I learned about the two years that are good for dimes, and the bicentennial quarter d, and the 1983 quarters! I went to a local bank and bought 1,000 pennies. I got a roll of 2017 coins and two rolls of 2014 coins that appear to be new. I also got 5 wheat back pennies. Would you consider this a good find for 1,000 pennies? My relative gave me $100 in dollar coins, lot's of President's and I got $50.00 of SB Anthony's. The SB's are all 1979, and apparently there are two kinds one thin and one fatter around the border. For the life of me, I cannot tell the difference. I also have about 75 president's. I went to a local coin store and they were selling shinny President's for $4.00 each. I also saw a 1964 penny they labeled as "mirror", it was pretty shinny alright. I got the 2018 red guide book out and for $12.00 it was pretty overpriced. They say the best advice to somebody new to coin collecting is to get the most knowledge and then buy what interest's you. I got a proof set from my birth year, and also am collecting coins that have been circulated from that year too. I love to think that the coins were actually "used" and people could buy a lot of things with a fifty cent piece from 1954. I know this is long, but I'm sort of desperate to know what coins to hold on to and which ones I can give back to the bank. As it is now, my six foot long kitchen table is completely full of coins because I don't know which ones to keep and which ones to save. I will watch more of your coin searching video's to learn more about keeping the best coins. Thanks, your newest subscriber! Dave from Seattle.
David, check those 2017 Cents (Pennies), you want to keep the 2017-P for the simple reason, they didn't make that many AND it will be the only year that the Mint put the P on the Cent for the mint mark, only worth FV for now but it is a collector item for those two reasons later.
I agree with Richard, but also you want to learn about rare varieties and keep those as well if you find them. Anything before 1959 is also a keeper. Happy hunting!
Just heard on this vid that you have deleted some people and refuse to have subscribers that will use crude language because young people watching your channel. Way to go. I support that decision.
I like it when you talk i learn about whats going on in coin roll hunting i have never coin rolled hunted but bout to start an the bad mouth people I would not put up with it neither i do agree with you on that!!!
That's why I put my initials on them at wells fargo, they are not my bank but if I rewrap them they will trade me roll for roll, also yes I have found about 9 war nickels only one came in a Loomis roll most are in customer wrapped also got a war nickel back in change from a gas station was pretty cool considering in my nicest one almost uncirculated
I started this hobby in January 2020 and it’s very difficult to find stuff I do find a lot of Bicentennial‘s and I love them to collect them and I hope to find double dies
Find a bank or credit union that takes coin deposits from customers through a machine. Then leave with a sack of pennies or nickels. Sometimes they will call you when they have a $50 bag of pennies, etc. No need to mess with the wrappers that way.
ive found that at alot of banks, here on the east coast, u actually have too be a member or have an account with them in order purcheses any coins with them..thats crazy
Hi friend! New to stacking and very new to coin roll hunting, just picked up my first "sampler" couple days ago, lol, was a bust, but I have watched quite a few of your videos and I thought it was time I sub to your channel. Thank you for your time and effort it is much appreciated.
Picked up $310 of Kennedy's last week and ended up with 2 rolls of silver. That will get you excited !

Coin roll hunting, first of all, is fun, for those of us that enjoy it, its literally treasure hunting. 😁
I work in the money industry. I can say newer change sorting , counting machines generally reject silver coins, along with a variety of other types.
These are your videos my friend. Talk all you want to. Good luck and God bless.
You can use your TH-cam filter for peoples comments you dont like for instance keywords. Hope this helps you and Happy Hunting. Keep the vids coming !

I'm so glad you've touched on the "season" of coin roll hunting, and I couldn't agree more. Keep up the strong work man!

I'm 13 and I like your rambles.
Today several Banks are are getting nothing but 25 dollar boxes of 2017P&D.This makes it hard to collect pennies here in Lakeland,Fl.!
Thanks for the info just getting started!! Great for you Don't need the negativity...AWESOME
didn't know about the bicentennial double die. Thank you!
Forget about it !!!! Your money brotha enjoy your show
As far as your rambling goes? It gives me more to listen to, which is more info, which means a better education. Ramble on Sir! Ramble on! I appreciate your rambling 👍🏻😉
Ramble all you want. Your channel is highly recommended by certain brick and mortar coin shop owners.
I had to laugh when you said bet that perked you up. My eyebrows went up. LOL You go through them so fast and find errors. I'm not there yet. Maybe someday I will be. Thanks for another informative video. Appreciate your work. How about a live one in the future?
Love me some BlueRidgeSilverhound!
i can't imagine why anyone would complain about you talking through your videos. it's like your brain and your hands become disconnected when you're searching rolls. your brain goes into this "cherrypickers guide" mode and you start rattling off info for at least 3 different types of coins and their varieties. I usually have to pause your vids about 4 times in order to write everything down :) it's awesome. i used to work with a guy who did a similar thing when we were fixing engines. by the time the work was done, I would have a rebuilt carburetor and a recipe for chocolate cannoli
Thank you for letting me know what to look for I enjoy going thru rolled coins or pocket change also IAM always on the lookout
Thank you! Very informative!
Well done on you policy of no negative feedback.
I live outside of Philly and get the new coins in my change fairly often but only got one Fredrick Douglas quarter and that was months ago.
U sure have help me i just started coin hunting on here i love it if nothing comes of it I've sure enjoyed it.
I like Loomis and you're right about it being tight lol.... BUT I have found quite a few Silvers from Loomis, nice...
I the way west set. Still sealed with folds n other marks on some coins
Many banks will not sell or trade you coins unless you have an account with them.
Have you found a 1982 dime without a mintmark? Those are worth quite a bit of money.
There are a few (key?) date clad dimes.The 65-67 SMS dimes,82 No P, 96W, low mintage 69's and 09's
Customer wrapped rolls are often shorted a coin or two.
I also just found a copy of each 2009 state coins including a Guam and American soman
I love your videos and your comments, you just real.... you tell it like it is, bottom line, I like that about you.
I found a 1944 Netherlands 25cent silver in a roll of pennies.
That was my luckiest find
I've had 2 cups of coffee so far, it's my dearly departed wife's b-day today
I'm so sorry you lost your wife. 😥
ive found that at alot of banks, here on the east coast, u actually have too be a member or have an account with them in order purcheses any coins with them..thats crazy
i love your videos, love how descriptive you are, I'll listen and listen for as long as you talk!
Hi friend! New to stacking and very new to coin roll hunting, just picked up my first "sampler" couple days ago, lol, was a bust, but I have watched quite a few of your videos and I thought it was time I sub to your channel. Thank you for your time and effort it is much appreciated.
