Tried this mod tonight. Busted the hell out of my gun ha. Got it back together but it would not rack the slide after I pulled it back. Taking it apart it blew up after the spring engaged.
I would try taking a coil out of the spring. It's scary, but really best to prime the spring and cylinder before putting it in. Just be very careful wear eye pro.
@@norcalnerfclub3423 Yeah a little too late for that ha. I tried the original way and the entire thing wanted to pop up and out of the spot. So I put the spring in and then added it to the gun. When I took it off again to fix then the spring popped and busted couple interior pieces. So that ruined my night and my favorite blaster.
Do you still use your moded pathfinder? How has it held up? I put k25 in mine and a clip on the catch broke and then later the guide tabs on the outside of the plunger tube snapped off making the blaster no longer catch.
@@norcalnerfclub3423 After trying a few things to repair it and get things to align correctly.. I discovered that simply putting a beefy catch spring in it fixed the issue. The trigger pull is a little stiff but it works.
@@norcalnerfclub3423 So I went from not being able to get the Spring in. Now it's in but I can't seem to close it fully. There's a scheme that won't come together. It's just by the magazine . I was able to get one shot off and now I can't pull the primer back.. For some reason I had no problem putting Springs in 2 Kronoses with No issue. Now I can't get this fucking thing together. Now I'm afraid to take apart my Saturn. Lol
@@freethinker3161 Yea, that's the problem with the Pathfinder. The shell helps hold the spring in place. The pre-compression pushes the shell apart making it almost impossible to close correctly. I've had them release on me before too. The good thing is if it the plunger assembly is compressed and caught it fits right into place very easily. I prefer to do that when putting together a Kronos. Check out my Saturn guide. They are way easier to work on. Have fun with that and be careful!
I wrestled a big k25 spring in there and I can’t get it to catch in the fire position. The trigger doesn’t release the catch because it’s not catching when I fully cock it. I think I screwed up when the spring exploded and blew that yellow part holding the spring across the room… I probably put the yellow part back together wrong. It had some square pieces of yellow and orange plastic with a spring closest to the butt. Can you go over the anatomy of these parts and the catch and trigger mechanisms for this gun? Show us how you got the catch in the precompressed position before reassembling it?
I just press down on the plunger (plunger head down) and catch assembly until it catches. Don't let it slip and keep your face away from it. That way I know it will catch before putting it back together. You have to do it that way for this blaster. Otherwise, the pre-compression will prevent you from closing the shell. Be careful!
@@s_amza Good question. You can probably get away with it, but it doesn't fit the plunger head as good as K25 does. You would have to cut down a little of the plastic on the plunger rod. Which is something I prefer not to do since those fins ( 9:06 ) are there to strengthen the plunger head and rod.
@@norcalnerfclub3423 Thanks, for long-range shooting, is the k25 enough, or do I have to get another spring. I'm trying to make this a long-range nerf gun.
@@s_amza Here's the thing. It depends on how far you want to reach out and hit a human size target. Rival isn't for long range sniping. The K25 is definitely enough to hit someone at 50ft. I always want Rival blasters to shoot between 125-135 fps. You could possibly get a Rival blaster to hit above 150-160 fps, but that usually means the rounds will become inaccurate and you will have a hard time hitting that same target at 50ft. So, you have more range with the K25. If someone sees you shooting at them from that distance, they can easily dodge the round. K25 is a more efficient spring than K26. I really can't name a single blaster that I would say K26 is the best spring to put in. It's an option, but doesn't necessarily mean you are going to get more power and accuracy versus K25 or another spring. I'm happy with the 10 coils of K25 in this one. Hope that helps!
Good question! It makes the best use of the air that is being pushed against the round. Usually the ones I use come from Dollar General. I like to use just the tiniest drop of Gorilla Glue or Super Glue to the adhesive.
Good question. It fills in the dead space of air at the end of the plunger head so that all of the air in the plunger tube is pushed against the round.
@@norcalnerfclub3423 thanks for the quick reply. Thought it had something to do with impacting the round, wanted to confirm. What did you use to fill the plunger? Like the vid and just getting into Nerf to play with the Grand baby. I have been caught in the rabbit hole of watching a lot of Nerf vids and there is one problem I have with most of the content creators, why do most of y’all always put your booger hookers on the trigger? I’m using Nerf as an opportunity to teach gun safety as well. Not attacking anyone per say. Just boggles my mind that no one is practicing safety. I understand “it’s just Nerf” but it can injure folks 🤷🏽♂️
I know what you mean. I don't put my finger on the trigger if someone else is around. Some of my blasters, such as this one, the safety lock has been disabled. It is a good habit to treat these like a firearm and practice safety. I never shoot at or let anyone shoot at someone that isn't wearing eye protection. I host Nerf War events and a lot of emphasis is on safety. It's all about learning the blasters and how to handle them properly. One of the benefits of playing regularly in a Nerf War is building your situational awareness skills. So, if you were ever in a live firefight situation, you probably have a bit more sense about it. Good point though!
I was stuck with the screws thank you so much for adding that detail in your video ☺️ great job
