No it's the weight of the tractor(s). So if there is a weight class for 4,000 lbs the tractors competing all are weighed and can't exceed 4,000 pounds. If a tractor would be heavier they would have a advantage with better traction. So weighing all the tractors keeps it fair.
@@davidglaum2538 The key is to get the tractors as lite as possible then you can add weight and run in multiple weight classes. There really isn't a set weight that goes into the weight box of the sled. Each sled is different. If it's too easy to pull after the first few tractors they will add more weight and start the class over. Or there are gears on the sled that will make the box travel at different speeds to get the desired set up for the sled.
