@@Dallasgoldbug Hi Ed they were a great band and I loved working with them, we had everything in the truck all the backline all the lighting rig and pa it was some of the best days of my life I still have their original backdrop, look up Billy Boy on youtube the sound was recorded buy me from the foh desk take care, frank
Frank can you tell me any of the location details for the Good Life video clip - location etc I was a big fan when this group played in the 1980s and still love it in my late 50's
Melbourne girl here, who saw these guys at a pub (as we all did) and they were great! Still love listening to them, makes me feel young again. Great memories of back then having so much fun with no responsibilities apart from going to work. Was a huge party time in my life.
Hey there Karen Glenn I'm George, simply can't beat those years. Bring back 1984. Venetians rocked as well. Rik Swinn was very underrated. Dear Enemy made INXS look second rate. I play Ransom Note to death
How good was the music in the 80’s! The Australian and New Zealand bands were amazing - and the vast majority were brilliant live as they cut their teeth playing at pubs etc. Hearing songs like this - which from memory was not that big a hit - shows how spoilt we were at that time.
Welsh lad here just discovering this track for the first time. Loving it. I related instantly to your comment! I dont know how it rated at the time but since I've never heard it, guessing not so well? Its really good though.... kinda reminds me of another under rated Aussie act... Cold Chisel.
Still play this song all the time. One of my favourite Aussie bands. I got dumped by a guy because I played this too much when it was first released. His loss lol 🤣🤣🤣
Hi Trish, I also played this song and the rest of the album to the death too, back then i had it on vinyl , but i mainly played it on cassette in my 1974 Toyota Celica. I installed twin 6 x 9 inch Clarion speakers mounted in woodern boxes behind the bucket seats with a big amplifier and my god did i play it loud until eventually the speakers blew up. Great album Ransom Note, not easy to find anymore.
Ive loved this song for years. Why cant i buy it on itunes or Spotify? I want to add it to my play lists. I dont know why it was never number 1 on the charts. I think this song was ahead of its time.
I don't know why the hell this song flopped. 48K hits; that's disgraceful. Maybe we should do this song in the band. Great stuff. Where are all the great Aussie bands? All we have now is shit on the radio... and no more Countdown. Those were the days.
That's hilarious. Chris Langford was home room and history teacher. I remember watching them play on "Hey Hey It's Saturday" and we all gave him shit because "they" made him wear a hat because he was bald.
I was Dear Enemy's Sound Engineer in the early 80s a great band very under rated.

Loved the whole album when it came out, especially this song.
Awesome melb band & definitely underrated... so sad!
How RARE! Thank You for this video!!!!!!!!!!!
Underrated band. They should have been much bigger.

A classic for me still think of 1983 with this song in mind love it!
I remember playing this song over and over in 1983.The good times (sigh)
You have to be an Aussie to know this one..Personally I think this song is underrated.
Same ..though this film clip couldve been so much better done, its so awkward lol
He must hate seeing this now :/
I am Canadian found it thanks to Discogs:)

100%👍

I loved this band and this album! I wish I still had the LP!
Top Song I didn't know it at the time...just stumbled across it here...why wasn't this a big hit!
I love this song too!
Ransom Note was a LP that I played so much. Very underrated band, which I had of seen them live.
I saw them live a lot
Had some get nights
(Originally called Stone wall)
I saw this band a few times and bought their album. They had a fantastic sound. I was sure they'd take off to greater heights. Anyway I loved them.
I like this song.. but LOVE Computer One:) that's my song...
Ordinal name (Stonewall)
I don’t believe this name was thought to be appropriate
When they we’re about to record
They had a great pub following!
Who ever thought he was a teacher by day and a hit musician in his spare time awesome who would ever have known love it !!
This brings back a lot of great memories, just introduced this to my 2 daughter's aged 11 & 12, well worth the wait
They got a good promo spot on hey hey it's saturday live with Ransom Note Album back in the 80's with Computer one when Commodore 64 was around then!
i remember this track on hits huge 84 what a great track
I remember it being on 1984 The Beat
Fantastic track🤟
I love this song.what can I say,it's the story of my last relationship.
Bought the album at the time, this single was even better than "Computer one" to my ears, but if i recall correctly the radio never really played it?
This song is the bomb!!
Hah, Chris Langford is my current geography teacher !!
Thought Chris Langford played for HAW and SYD ?
Love this Album. Remember them on, hey hey its Saturday as well.

It still made the top 40
🤸♀️🤸♂️🤹♀️🤹♂️🎈🎉🎊🎡💈🎢🎠
Dancing in my chair 🤩
Go dear enemy
Great track
loved this band
Great song............great album!
this is great
Fan Club was wait for it FRIENDS OF THE ENEMY
While not quite as good as Computer One, it's still a solid 80s pop song. Well done.
It's better than Computer One.
Cool track...just needed a blistering 80s, over the top solo to really sell it 😉
Fun fact: my old man was the sound engineer for the boys and also worked with bad company
Dear enemy should have made it big time? How come thay did not?
One of life’s great mysteries
Computer one was a great song and their best success. Ut I'd say his voice sounds better in this song...
Ron Martini has a great voice. Anyone know what he did after this?
Believe he was washing cars in Fitzroy at one stage ...
@@rubiconnz1754 that's bloody sad. Fantastic voice.
Playing solo gigs in Kensington
He was a bit stressed out at one stage. Shaken, but not stirred!
I've always thought this is better than Computer One. Undercurrent of angst makes it more edgy.
That's hilarious. Chris Langford was home room and history teacher. I remember watching them play on "Hey Hey It's Saturday" and we all gave him shit because "they" made him wear a hat because he was bald.
Hats Rule For those challenged with that infliction !!
Just shave it off like I did.
dear enemy should have made it,
Steven Cundy They did. Kind of
They did.
