Far from underrated to me, one of my all time favourite songs of the 80s. Seeing all the Sydney locations in this clip takes me back to a time when this city was fun, gritty and an adventure!
It might be known in Australia but I agree, to the rest of the world this song is underrated for sure. I’m not even sure they played it on mtv in the states.

john king Well said my friend. Such a shame you didn't get to enjoy our beautiful Chrissy in your youth. Unequivocally the most talented frontwomen ever in Australian music. She demanded your attention. John king, You found Chrissy and the Divynals at last. I can only think, like alot of super talented Aussie bands back then, they just wern't main strem enough to get the air play they definitely deserved. I was lucky enough to grow up with them and saw them for the first time when I was 16. She showed young Australian women they didn't have to be in the background. You are who they've come to see. From here in Canada it is heartbreaking to see what we've missed....the early Divinyls...fresh, raw and extraordinarily innovative with a proudly unambiguous Austrailian identity and an unabashed lyrical frankness with beautiful (and somewhat frightening) Chrissy boldly punching away at the barriers of convention.
I agree with what you said. Moreover, I feel this song and the Divinlys encapsulates more specifically Sydney; beautiful and at the same time abrasive. I hope you can visit here at some point.

I love this iconic Aussie band .Saw them live in the 80's brilliant musicians and Chrissy Amphlet an amazing singer / performer. Thankyou for memories.
There was just something about her that was SO attractive, the whole package..you know what I mean? Hands down one of the best songs of the 80s. Should have been huge all over the world. Brilliant.
Chrissy Amphlett spat beer at me while the Divinyls played the front bar of the Cottesloe Beach Hotel WA (early 90's ????). Didn't wash for a month! What a gig!
I saw the Divinyls in Fern Tree Gully (Vic) in the early eighties and Christina shrank more than a few testicles. The whole gig turned into a party and the cops were called to break it up at about 1am. She could really sing and I miss those days. Feel sorry for young people today.
Chrissy remains an invaluable national treasure. A unique and passionate performer who will doubtless continue to inspire. She always seemed so much more REAL than many of her contemporaries and the emotional truth in her performances elevated her far above the rest.
80's prog rock doesn't get better than this. Killer band with a killer line up. So few bands you can rock the night only with their songs and of course, the Divinyls belongs to that elite. Greetings from this corner of south america 🏴☠
Hearing this song always puts me behind the wheel of my first car, a 1974 XB Falcon V8 coupe. Good times, Sydney was fun, the music was great and I felt like I would be 17 forever!

I don't understand either. This could have smashed the charts in the UK. I know it was one of their early songs, but it should have done really well.
Same for Sleeping Beauty.
It was the lead single for What A Life! and was a hit in Australia at a rather disappointing #32 in 1984.
