    Although I am not a fan of black and white color schemes everything else about the design is beautiful. I also love the banquet dining area. I thought the round shapes throughout gave interest. I am not a designer so I just never understood why you should bring similar color throughout the whole house. To me a bedroom gives each person the chance to express their own choice of decor.

    I'd like to know more about your small scale round coffee table. I have a smallish living room in our 1,258 sq. ft condo and I am looking for a MCM, round, glass top coffee table. Most that I have seen and liked are too large for our space. I also adore the hanging light fixture in the living room/dining rom.

    This is so beautiful! The only issues I see is a kitchen on the second floor and the banquet seating is always too high for the table. You should feel like you are sitting in a low nook not towering over the table when seated. Other than that, lovely design.

    • @comealongcomealong4480
      @comealongcomealong4480 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Anita Wickes Yes, it would be good to know if there is a rear ground level entry. Perhaps via a car garage? The designer Mariaam expressed that this entry and room also operate as a home office. So perhaps the space is deliberately void of domestic possessions so that it presents as a professional space for work. There may be a toilet and laundry zone on this same level.

    Why oh why are we seeing round tables with banquets? What's the point of a banquet if you have to place chairs in the places the banquet doesn't reach?

    • @lukasky03
      @lukasky03 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Lol you’d have to do the same with any shape if you want to have people gather *around* the table. Duh.

    • @pman2916
      @pman2916 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I can see your point. The banquet is too big for the small round table, so if you had full seating, anyone sitting on the edges wouldn't be able to reach the table to eat. I would either have a rectangle table or a larger round table.. I loved what she did though. Gorgeous!

    • @lukasky03
      @lukasky03 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@pman2916 This is kind of unavoidable with a two-sided banquette. A rectangular table will allow for more seating of course but something else that gets overlooked is the more people you have seated on the banquette the harder it is for someone on the inside to get out! An oval table is a nice compromise.

  • @radleyatticus5376

    • @comealongcomealong4480
      @comealongcomealong4480 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Sean Martinez Mariaam says: "high contrast with bold accent colors", or similar. Good job here if the clients are happy. But to me - overdesigned in the living spaces, all reminiscent of a Chanel store bag, and lacking any apparent comfort (for human bodies). The kitchen design and use of materials is a positive.

    I’m really surprised. All the black is a trend that is on it’s way out and this house will look very dated in 2 years. Also the furnishings are very 2021-22 specific shapes of couches and coverings will also be out of date very soon. She mentions that the style is classic, classic for a particular trend.

      Just venting here, but why oh why oh why do designers put a round table in front of a banquet? So much of the banquet is wasted because it's impossible to sit on it and reach the table, and in this case, chairs are placed awkwardly to try to make it work. Just put in a rectangular table -- there's no shame in not having a round table. Form should follow function, as I understand it. Otherwise, what's the point if it doesn't work?

      As a family with one young kid, you're not wrong, but that's a luxury that our generation generally cannot afford. Space in the GTA is at a massive premium and we just have to make do with the square footage that we can realistically afford.
