This was a ton of fun to watch! Keep up the banter and "goofing off"! One of the best playthroughs I've watched in a while -- very entertaining. Looking forward to getting this game to the table!!
Just fyi, as a viewer, the constant goofing off during the rules explanation was pretty frustrating. Made everything hard to understand and take much longer than it should have.
It's not a "How to play" video, its a live playthrough of a game, having fun and being entertaining is more important than slavishly demonstrating how to play.
Thanks for your opinion. Mine still stands. I know the difference between a how to play video and a live playthrough. In both cases, rules explanations are important. There's plenty of time to be "entertaining" during the actual playthrough.
I think you are wildly over-stating how much "goofing off" there was. The game is complex and the rules explanation was always going to take a while. Breaking it up with the odd quip stops it from being overly tedious.
I hate when people goof off while I’m trying to explain rules too, but caring this much about how much fun people have while playing a game in a video you’re watching on the internet is beyond weird.
Rule guys fudges Zees points , when he wins the poker match and states he moved him from 12 to 14 , yet zee was on 13 , also he later sayshe cuaght the 50 dollars on the first poker match yet he didnt ... listen to zee hes much more observant in his game play
Texas hold 'em in the Old West? Not likely, it's an early 20th century form of poker that didn't become popular until the later half of the century, only stud poker would have been played widely in those times.
I felt bad for the explainer, felt like the guys didn’t want to do this...first time I am disappointed. Also, I think they need to invest in multiple live webcam’s, watching a board for an hour is boring.
The Dice Tower I understand that, but the first 10 minutes made me uncomfortable, I understand you guys were joking but for us viewers, it felt like you were mocking your guest. I was not the only one feeling that way. Again, maybe if the camera was capturing your face more often we would have a different opinion, a small thumbnail is not good enough for me. We need a mix between Table Top and Dice Tower 2018 😁.
Man, Zee pays not attention to any explanations. Asks the same questions over and over again.... he would drive me crazy if i would be the one explaining stuff...
RNDbits some designs rely on players to balance the game as opposed to being intrinsically balanced. Maybe this type of behavior is a feature, rather than a bug, intended by the designer. Re
Look, I don't think it is an issue that Tom and Sam basically teamed up to get Zee, as you said that is part and parcel of a game like this when you have a runaway leader. What I didn't think was cool was that Travis joined in the "stacks on". If you are teaching the game you help all players equally in my books.
More than twenty minutes to explain the rules... sorry guys, I won't succed to give nterest to my players with this game. Thumb up just because I like the show
It looks like there is literally no incentive to fold during the mini poker games. Doesn't that remove the whole point of even including the mini game?
@@TrackerRoo Without the incentive to fold this isn't a "simplified version" of poker, It isn't poker at all. Giving players an incentive to fold would have enhanced the game and created a more authentic western theme. And I didn't say anything about two players playing "back and forth." You are exaggerating my position to make it easier to shut down. That's called a straw man argument.
The Cute Flutist The only reason to fold is when betting isn’t worth it to you. This game offers a one hand, one turn poker match where players pick their cards and hope for the best. They aren’t raising, they aren’t bluffing, there’s zero reason to need to fold when it’s too people playing what cards they have and hoping for the best.
I would never want to teach these 3 a game. I would hope that they apologized to this guy after re-viewing. Zee, it's a hat. Sam, you're clever or whatever. This was a chore of a viewing experience.
Yeah, that's a problem with these kinds of Live Plays. They turn into performance and entertainment rather than instruction and demonstration. I really wonder if they are like this when they play off camera.
Playing the class clown seemed very disrespectful to your guest. Won’t be watching this again to try to learn and or get a feel for the game. There is a difference between bantering around and having fun playing the game and goofing off and being unprofessional. Not entertaining to me.
The game looked really interesting and fun. I wasn't too distracted by the "goofing around" I found it entertaining. I think for me I was most distracted from enjoying the video by the explainer. It may be just me but he seemed to be so rude and even disrespectful to Zee throughout the game. Always questioning Zee's points, clearly being biased towards Sam and doing everything he could to make sure Zee would not win (nothing against Sam he was just playing the game). Its a player like that who ruins the experience of playing games for me. Maybe it was just me but the weird tension the explainer brought to the table made this uncomfortable me. I noticed the same thing in the Omen video as well. Maybe its just me but I felt bad for Zee having to deal with it. Keep up the great job Dice Tower! I'm just disappointed in how Kolossal Games was represented. I apologize for the rant.
Apologies for ant perceived tension. Lots of joking around with these guys leading up to this, so was merely trying to be punchy. Sam was sitting next to me, had Zee been, I would have advised him. Tom was just having fun. The point of this was to show off the game, not to determine a winner. And Zee was playing expertly!
Travis R. Chance I didn't find you to be rude. These guys like to bust each other's...... seems like the culture of that game room. I personally get butterflies every time I see a video of this game, which hasn't happened to me before. Thanks for the inside look! I hope it lives up to the excitement I feel. Now I just have to scrape up some money!
Z looked like speedy Gonzalez and Yosemite Sam at the same time 😂
Love y’all
Just picked this one up yesterday. Getting it to the table tonight!
How was it 2 years ago
Not OP, but we played WL last friday and it was a blast! (4 players)
I want Sam to always talk deep southern... sounds good on him.
He's from Texas, that's the accent he's using. It's different from the Deep South.
Actual gameplay starts: 26:00
This was a ton of fun to watch! Keep up the banter and "goofing off"! One of the best playthroughs I've watched in a while -- very entertaining. Looking forward to getting this game to the table!!
@1:23:20 Zee never got his initial victory point from winning the poker game along with the extra from the ten gallon hat.
Even after the rules guy stated he moved him up the one. Dude didnt even touch his cube
Backed and can't wait. Love a good western game. Dang 26:00 of instructions.
One of my fFavorite movie quotes of all time “I’m your huckleberry.”!
This game just looks great!!! So fun!
Looks great, so glad I back it. Should be a great addition to our playing group.
Best live play yet! You all got into the theme so well! Sam well done on the win. Pays off to be on the right side of the law 😂👍🏻
Awesome live play. It was very entertaining. I can't wait get my copy of the game.
Great to see this game in action. I can't wait for my copy to get here!!
Thanks for the video guys! Very excited for this game. Looks very fun.

Was thinking the same thing! I'm glad they were having fun but man, I felt bad for the explainer.

Well this looks quite interesting. Hmm.. nice job guys. I am hopeful for a good review? How did you guys find your experience?
"I am hopeful for a good review?" - what kind of question is that? Are you asking if you are hopeful? Or don't you know how question marks work?
Flávio Santos Your comment is not a constructive contribution to the video. I genuinely hope your day gets better if it is not currently going well.
Sam's hat...the best.
hey mr. K. How about reprinting some of those expansions of yours.
Looking forward to this game arriving in the Fall.
I felt bad for the explainer, felt like the guys didn’t want to do this...first time I am disappointed. Also, I think they need to invest in multiple live webcam’s, watching a board for an hour is boring.
Sorry, I had a BLAST playing it, I thought that came out in my actions!

I backed this and can't wait to receive my game!
At the second poker match, Zee is losing becouse he have two pair and oponent have triple - 2 is wild card and that makes 3x5.
I think Sam should always use his “Texas big spender accent”. Definitely peaked my interest in the game.
Of course Sam wins after complaining about the wanted track being overpowered ...
And then letting the guy play for him for the 2nd half of the game........
It’s my No1 anticipated game of 2018
Man, Zee pays not attention to any explanations. Asks the same questions over and over again.... he would drive me crazy if i would be the one explaining stuff...
That was pretty BS at the end. Travis was coaching hard against Zee, basically 3 against 1...
RNDbits some designs rely on players to balance the game as opposed to being intrinsically balanced. Maybe this type of behavior is a feature, rather than a bug, intended by the designer. Re
As far as coaching from someone more experienced, that is probably common in games where the players are meant to balance the game.
Look, I don't think it is an issue that Tom and Sam basically teamed up to get Zee, as you said that is part and parcel of a game like this when you have a runaway leader.

This seems just like Spurs with poker?
More than twenty minutes to explain the rules... sorry guys, I won't succed to give nterest to my players with this game. Thumb up just because I like the show
Moyinski There was a ton of goofing around and having to re-tell already explained rules.
Excuse me english is not my mother tongue and I don't understand they were re telling things, I was quite lost with all the rules.
It looks like there is literally no incentive to fold during the mini poker games. Doesn't that remove the whole point of even including the mini game?
If you want poker play actual poker, the point of a simplified version is to not bog down a board game with two people playing poker back and forth.
