    Everyone said get radials, I got some big Horn radials on a 750 KQ. They made it oversteer like mad and felt like there were no shocks. So I put bias back on and it was great. Used the radials for plowing.
    I traded in the KQ but before doing so I put them on the AC 700 Alterra. They are great on the Alterra but I'd still prefer bias.
    So imo, the ATV itself is also a consideration when choosing. I know what I want next, but these radials last too long lol

    i have both kenda executioner and kenda bearclaw htr. they represent some of the finest bias ply and radial atv tires. i d'ont rate one above the other. both are excellent tires in their respective design. they are a major upgrade to a stock atv tire.

    I've been riding ATVs, motorcycles UTV, SXS's all my life. And at 52 years old I have never had a radial tire that rides "better" than a bias ply on ATV or SXS unless you are talking about riding STRICTLY on highway etc
    The statements in this video itself are completely contradictory. Saying that the bias-ply let's the tread flexo it cleans out better tells you that the tire actually does flex better which will end up giving you a better smoother ride in rough terrain.
    You can test this yourselves by using bias and radial tires and doing some off-roading just watch the flex that the bias tires have, how they give, how they mold around the obstacles, and then put on some radials and see that the only way this happens is if you have absolutely no air in them. Also most radial tires these days are heavy ply, 8 ply, they have absolutely no flex They ride hard as a rock. Lol.
    I have tested this myself several times. Even had to exact side-by-sides, one with the stock bias, the other with aftermarket radials, we did a test ourselves off-road and found that the bias tires were extremely better at providing more comfort.
    There is also the reason why the radials tend to not get as hot as bias-ply tires, IF when riding hard, extreme fast, payment etc, the bias plies get hotter because they do flex which causes friction within the molecules which forms heat the radial tires do not flex which helps them keep from producing friction in the sidewalls which make them run cooler.
    I don't know why there's this misconception out there about this.

    We carry about 200 tires in stock and it seems the bigger more powerful machines with larger credit limits, choose radials. But it is nice to learn the correct way, thanks.

    Thanks for the help on this... however, Lets see you guys reviewing some beauty machines (preferably flying down some fast trails). Maybe doing some head to heads on side by sides! Not too many channels do that!! But they need to, you guys would do it great like your sled videos!!

      I’d rather it be ATv’s because it seems like all the attention is on sxs’s. reality is, at least here in NS is that ATV’s to sxs’s is 10 to 1, yet media is all over sxs’s.
      But yeah, head to head is far more interesting than talking about just one machine.
      HL vs XMR, old school trail shootout, best tires in all season (snow too) etc. Always being one machine is more infomercial and less helping to make decisions based on comparing machines vs wants

    Nice review - I cannot tell the difference from a rock to a cigarette butt and don't put the miles on you do, so as long as it holds air and gets me from point A to B and back I'm good. Cheers

    I use bias ply for running around my property but I switch over to radials for trail riding.

    When will after market companies start making 34” and larger radial tires for those of us who abuse our SXSs in the hardcore mud riding but also use them for work and trails

    Question for anyone to answer. Not much into this stuff. But I am searching for a reliable utv with multiple seats for my family. I would like for it be more of a utility than a sport. Any recommendations??

    Anyone have anything to say about itp blackwater, what is there niche terrein?

    • @peterr7950
      @peterr7950 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I ran a set and they are an amazing all terrain tire and can't recommend them enough. I found a controllable and reasonably quiet ride and excellent traction and amazing side hill traction on basically every terrain and wasn't afraid to tackle very swampy and mucky areas. I've ran the full blown itp mega mayhems and they sucked for everything other than deep mud and snow, defiantly a specialized tire. I have ITP baha cross on my rzr and I run mostly dirt roads and rough trails and they excel at steering control and stability but don't do snow or mud. I ran on itp swamp lites and was very unimpressed as they didn't really excel in any particular area and wore out fast. I had to run high pressure to have stability and it really hurt ride quality and traction. Sorry for the rant but I'm very weird and particular about my tires and the blackwaters and rocktanes are the best all around tires that will do everything really good in almost all situations

    Aren't radials way heavier ?

    • @Dusdaddy
      @Dusdaddy ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Not necessarily, it depends on construction. It comes down to the terrain you are riding in and how you will use it. If I were a rock crawler, a bias would be my first choice.
