Thank you for all your helpful guidance! Could you please make a video on finding jobs in "clinics" as a general practitioner in Australia and share important CV tips for this setting?
Hello Dr, Im Salma, a junior doctor from Morocco and discovered your channel recently, it's life changing. Considering enrolling in your prep courses as well for AMC 1 and clinical, I just have a question that bothers me a little, with the right preparation do we still stand a chance to find a junior doctor job since the market is being saturated? I'd really appreciate if you answer 😊
After AMC 1, jobs are attainable with the right CV, documents, and interview practice. Your quality of qualifications and experience must stand out to whatever practice you apply to. You can opt for registration in Australia after USMLE step 1 and 2, ECFMG certification and mandated experience through the competent authority pathway!
Can we get general registration if we do a gp job? I really want to do gp and from my past experience from observershops etc., I really do not like the Australian hospital jobs, I want to be a gp from my first day in Australia, can I apply for a gp job after my AMC 2???
You'll have to train as a GP before having registration as a licensed general practitioner. If you're confused, consider booking a 1:1 session where we can discuss your options in detail! www.emergencyfocus.net/booking-calendar/1-1-career-guidance-session

Hello doc, I have been following your channel religiously for over a year and it's been very helpful in my img journey. I have now started applying to jobs with AMC1 and OET. How long does it usually take for the hospitals to revert with any repsonse? Do they get back to us if we are not selected.? Do we wait till application closing date to hear from them or should we just move on after a month of applying?
The hospitals unfortunately DO NOT reply if not selected / shortlisted and they also do not reply if you are not offered a job even after an interview. So, if you have not heard from them by 2 weeks, I would say you have not been selected for that job. At this juncture, I would like to narrate a story, I was renewing my casual contract as emergency medicine consultant so had to have an interview and all. The hospital did not contact me to let me know of the decision whether they rehired me or not, after 2months had gone, I got an email for roster co-ordinator to enter my casual shifts and when I questioned, have I been offered a job??...they replied YES, It was quite funny, as I said it would have been good to at least let me know that i was successful...This too happens ! 😂
I finished my AMC 1, i am preparing for AMC 2. But i would like to apply for jobs in rhe mean time. Can you please help us with the list of IMG friendly hospitals
Supplementary exams are a minor drawback, but can be compensated for with good certification and clinical skills for when you apply to jobs in Australia
Hi I have done my fcps Gastroenterology 6 months back and currently working as senior lecturer. I have a valid oet with B in all sub sections. What are my chances in competency pathway/specialist registration route??

Doctor, I passed the AMC 1.Will MRCEM (full or partially completed) be a added advantage for getting a job in australia ? I have 5 years of post intern experience including 3 year in ICU and anaesthesia..Thank you.
MRCEM is not comparable for direct applying to jobs, but may serve as an added benefit to reflect your knowledge in your CV, what really seals the deal is how well you portray your clinical skills in your documents and your interview.
AoA Rizwan bhai, Good to watch your videos , I have done my PG Fcps training in orthopaedics but not cleared part 2 exam , additionally i have done mrcem part 1, and my mrcem part 2 results will be this end of October, i have not done AMC exams , i have valid OET with B grades in all sub tests , can i apply for jobs in Australia, if yes, then which side i should prefer, ie ortho or EM, Thanks in anticipation
You can obtain fellowship, complete mandated experience and then opt for the specialist pathway to work either as a senior doctor or take the AMC exams and opt for the standard pathway!
Will it still be worth it if I give my AMC part 1 after 3 years as I have got some time until my graduation. I am talking in terms of job saturation and the new changes the AMC can make regarding IMGs.
@@EmergencyFocus yes, same thoughts. That means if I appear for AMC 1 after my graduation and internship and get clinical experience of 2/3 years back home (Pakistan) and then apply for jobs.
