Ugh, i can't get used to "that practical mom". i miss the "but first, coffee"😢
Congrats to you and your husband on the move and the new addition to your family tree. What wonderful news! 🌻🌻🌻🌻
The Maybe box has been a game-changer for me, I prefer to call it the "I don't know yet" box, I put my stuff in it, and bring it downstairs into my storage room, not even putting a date on it, but then when I am downstairs again going through my stuff, I also bump into my box (or boxes) with "I don't know yet" boxes and most of the time I think "oh god yes that stuff still here", most of the time I didn't miss it, I forgot I even had it, so it goes. But also I have put stuff in my "I don't know yet" box and a few days later I realized "Oh yes I can use it for this or that" or felt the urge to take it out and keep it. Which I did then. I find it a very safe way to declutter and not later regretting it.
Very helpful video. Thank you & Congradulations
We are retired and over the past few years I have given away literally 100’s of things, if it is something like a punch bowl, pasta maker, on and on…. I will ask the person that I gift it to if on some rare occasion could I borrow the item? The answer is always “of course” so that may ease your mind on giving away those random one use items! I haven’t ever borrowed back anything but it does help your brain when purging!
Congratulations Kallie & husband on your fourth pregnancy ~ good luck with the new home too.
OK. What happened to first coffee? I missed something along the way 😂
It was ‘Nourishing Minimalism’ who asked the question, “do I like this stuff enough to wash poop off of it?” And I have to say, that is a great question!!!
Came here to say this ☝️
I miss her.
@@karenhaire5451what happened to her?🤔
I miss Rachel too!
And I heard it on A to Zen. 😂
New studio, new name, new house, new baby, new content 👍🏾👍🏾 I’m glad you’re doing well
I can't believe you're on baby #4!! You're literally super woman.. how do you manage to be so organized , with 3 kids and being pregnant?! I have no kids and all the time and I have no desire to clean or organize lol you're a ROCKSTAR!
#1 I think I missed your #4 pregnancy... congrats!! #2 cannot believe you are MOVING after renovating your KITCHEN and it turned out so beautifully! BEST OF LUCK!!!!
I’m shocked about the move after renovation too
Their house is really small. Not nearly big enough for 2 adults and 4 kids.
I was thinking the same thing. Aw well
I kinda wish my basement would flood so I could just throw everything away without looking at it!
We've had a few "great basement floods". When. Everything is wet, you're wading through water, and your husband is stressed, you definitely become motivated.
I have definitely thought that many times lol
I like to use "if my house burned down, would I really miss this?"
My ex is a hoarder and it took him 18 months to pack up to move out and he didn’t have a clean out at the time. I started seriously looking at my stuff many years before even though I know what I have and go through it regularly. I could only go through it when he was away at work and had to make it look like I was organising. I also packed up the kids’ stuff and sent it to them after they settled when they finished college. They’d had refused to take it but I didn’t want to deal with it in the thick of things. It’s amazing how I don’t miss over half the stuff in the house now. I have space.
How exciting…baby 4 is on the way!!! Congratulations on the baby & the new house!! Can’t wait to see both!!!🥰
This is the 1st Time I hear so CONGRATULATIONS on your 4th Baby❣️❣️❣️
‼️ CONGRATULATIONS ‼️ on your New Home too❣️❣️
Omg! You’re on baby number 4!!! So so so happy for you 🥲
hope you do a house tour once all settled in!
I read on Instagram that she is not. Arlene
Kallie ~ You have the *MOST beautiful* children! I'd love to see more of them... so glad you're creating a big family for yourselves!
I haven't consistently been watching your videos since it was just Miles and Finley so congrats on 2 more! Wow time flies!
Seven days notice for a move?!? Holy Cow! I've lived in my home since 1968 and have acculated so much stuff that I really need to get rid of. I'm imspired.
Tip for the “maybe” box is if you are at the date on the box, just donate it!!! Don’t even open it bc then your brain will still want to hang onto the stuff if you see it again.
A couple of months ago we were cleaning up the garage and there were boxes with newspaper wrapped items. At first, I started to unwrap an item and then realized if I didn't know what it was I wouldn't miss it (I already had not missed the items in years), so we just donated the boxes. A question to ask yourself is, "Can I live without this?"
Congratulations on baby #4 Kallie! I hope your new home is all you dreamed of. I always enjoy your videos, I learn something new every time and I love seeing your adorable kids.
Bless y’all moving, pregnant, 3 kids; I was tired typing this! Seriously, blessings on your new home and next adventures!
I would not want to leave that awesome kitchen. Congrats on both the move and baby number 4!!
I needed your smiling face today!!
I knew you were pregnant again! I get more kids and not enough space but i thought you liked a small house? Easier to manage, clean and to round up kids?
Wow your amount of energy is astounding and commendable!
For me the maybe is sometimes I am not emotionally ready to let something go yet. By tucking it away for awhile and coming back to it months later it gives me time to grow and let some of that stuff go.
So much exciting news! Congrats on baby #4 and moving to a new house!
Wait, what? You’re pregnant again? Is this baby #3 or #4? Am I not cut up on the videos? Did I miss anything? Am I asking questions that will soon be answered by the end of the video?
Baby #4, a girl. Boy, girl, boy, girl. 🐣🐣🐣🐣
I was wondering the same thing! When did baby number 4 happen! I feel like i missed something too!!! Haha😂
@@GuoCreative She's currently pregnant with baby #4. 😊
She mentioned her pregnancy and how many children she already has in first 20 seconds of the video
@@angelamarie75 is that a guess or fact? I haven't heard her put it out there, unless I missed it.
I don't think there's anything in the world I'd be willing to wash sewage off of except for my family/pets/maybe my passport.
This video is so timely because I'm also moving in a week. This gives me motivation, because if you can move your entire family of 5 (and a half) in a week, I can definitely move my family of 2. 😅
Did not know about baby #4 congrats! Hope you enjoy the new house, but everything you have done to this house is beautiful would be hard to leave that awesome kitchen. Take care and stay safe. ❤❤❤❤❤
We just got done with 8 months living with family, with the majority of our stuff still packed up. I sorted a ton when we initially moved, but unpacking all of these boxes after 8 months really helped me realize what I need and what can go. And I expect we'll be moving again in a year, so that's even more motivation to get rid of stuff. I hate moving, no point packing anything I don't need!
I can't imagine NOT using the bassinet attachment on my stroller 😅 That's practically all I've used for 5-6months with both of my babies.
Same. I like babywearing but the bassinet is also a huge, huge win!!
About to have a 4th baby! Yay!!! I was asking too many questions too early. 😂
Congratulations!!!
Love this (and I, too, have moved in various stages of pregnancy, although I only have 3 kids and 3 pets) and you do find yourself prioritizing what is actually essential to your life and happiness when you have to box literally every single thing that will need to be unboxed and "find a space to live" in your new home. So, each time you pick something up, ask yourself - Do I really want this to follow me and potentially clutter my new home? You're starting off with a blank space - you don't need an extra pair of scissors, or more than 5 puzzles, or anything that has been in a box or bin and not opened/used in the past 6 months (clearly you're doing just fine without it). And I feel that if anything has been stored in a basement/attic/garage - you're just holding onto it for "some day" and that's not serving you well. And to answer your question about cleaning up items from a flood/sewer backup.....there is nothing on this green earth that is worth keeping after a disaster like that. We can do better - and again, if it was that important to you, it would be on display and being used in your main living spaces. #realitycheck Good luck with your move!
Congratulations on your happy news x2! I hope you’re staying in Connecticut! I heard someone use the term “stuff shuffling” and realized that’s exactly what I do. This video was perfect timing.
omg you are pregnant !! wow congratulations !!! how do you stay so consistent?? you inspire me. Thank you for sharing all.
I've moved enough as a single person (including TWICE the same YEAR between COASTS) to ask:
What is worth packaging and paying to transport across country.
Because if you move it will COST you in driving, in packaging materials, in moving company costs, in the cost of your own time to transport stuff from one spot to another. And it may also cost you storage fees.
That's when you have to move from 'would I buy this again' to 'can I just buy a replacement at my destination'. You work out the true value of the thing when having it or its twin will come out of your own pocket or bank account.
And frankly, by occupying space in your home, you are paying rent on extra space needed to allow room for that item in addition to room for you to live.
Where have I been. Baby #4. Congratulations. You are moving too. If any can do it Kallie, you can. Sending blessings🙌😊
omg how did I not realize you were on kiddo #4, I thought you were pregnant with #3! Time flies! Your eyelashes always look so beautiful and defined, what do you use?
#4. I don't know how you do it!
Wow congratulations!!! You're a mom of 4 and you still have time to make these videos... impressive ❤😊 moving is never fun yet you make it look easy 😉
Hmmm. It felt like u were gonna stay in ur space for a while. Congrats on the new place. ❤❤
Pretty sure that anecdote was from Marissa from A to Zen life. Congrats on the life changes … very exciting.
The original story actually came from my friend, Rachel, from @nourishingminimalism 👏
Congratulations on number 4 I missed that somehow. BUT here is mine, we used to move every couple of years for work and thus will it all fit in a 20ft container, now we have been in this house for 4 years and this country for 8 we have grown but I am always on the move to declutter. My downfall is I am organised enough to know where stuff is a year later. My hubby not as much.
I have an organizer for my screws with the tool box. That's one thing that I have been good about. I hardly need to buy any. If only i could be that disciplined with crafts & gift wrap supplies 😂 I'm working on that. I've got it about 1/3 of the way done in the office. Plus, i found about a 3rd of my sons school supply list items in there unused. Mom win for sure. Save so much by overstocking last year, because go figure those were the items sold out already. It's not even July yet!😮
Congrats to you & your Family on the new baby and new home. Enjoy🎉🥰
That Practical Mom, This is fantastic! I subscribed right away!
Wow! Congrats on the house and baby on the way! Oh my goodness! So many blessings in such a short amount of time!
I swear I watch every video, how did I not know you were pregnant again! Can’t wait to see the new house and the baby when they arrive. Are you still going to have time for all of us?
YOU MOVED?!? 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯
I moved into our 1st house last march during spring break. Ive had 2 garage sales since & made $200. Not much but it was so much small nice stuff i just wanted it to go to good use. Plus i sold to a second hand book store. I'm finally getting really organized. 😂 granted, im a teacher with a child of my own, forget getting much done dune during the school year. Victories no matter how long it takes are worth celebrating. We can park a car in the garage & 1/2 the garage is fully organized in labeled bins.
Congratulations on the house AND another beautiful baby!
I was just thinking: 4 babies (fourth is almost here!) 2 parents: need 4 seats in the two strollers. Just saying. This is also why I can't get rid of enough stuff.
Congratulations on the move and baby #4❤ We packed up 2 years ago and may finally get to unpack soon. I hate that I have to declutter because I know that some things will be ruined, and those will be the things I have cherished the most. They sat in a garage for 2 Idaho winters and summers.
Wow!!! 🎉Congratulations ❤ on your fourth baby! What a blessing. We also have 4 and l🩷ve it!!!
when did your channel name become that practical mom? im so confused haha
Omg this is the first video I’ve watched in months and I didn’t know until now that you changed the channel name AND you’re pregnant again 🫨🫨🫨🫨🫨
Am I willing to wash poop off of this? GENIUS.
Hold up….did we know we’re pregnant again???
Does the name change mean you don't drink coffee anymore?
Congratulations on a new house! We are looking for one too! Kudos to you for jumping into it! I appreciate your videos very much! I have a request. I have many heirloom items. Photos, vases, journals, albums, etc from my parents home and from their parents! I feel overwhelmed and it is all in boxes in our den. I can't donate or trash them. I feel like the steward of caring for these items. We don't have children to pass them to. Long story short. I'd love to see a video on storing these types of items without taking a lot of space. Keep up the awesome and quality videos. 😊👍
Congratulations! Plz show us your new house when you're settled.
I’m in the middle of a kitchen remodel. I needed to pack up 75% of the kitchen stuff in boxes, leaving only what I thought I really needed to use during the remodel. It was amazing how little I actually needed. My kitchen will be finished at the end of this month and then I’ll be determining what I’ll actually keep of the stored items.
Do shred anything with name & address on them? I keep a shred box. Goes to the shredder every month.
I love the move out declutting method. Don't hang onto something that isn't worth your time lugging to the next house, across state lines, whatever your situation is. It's a smart method to get past the really hard stuff.
In 2008 we moved from GA to NM. Even with someone else coming in to pack our stuff (maybe BECAUSE someone else was packing our stuff) and moving us, I knew I had to declutter. One 30 cubic yards roll off dumpster and many many trips to Goodwill later I'm totally convinced if you really want to reduce your stuff tremendously - MOVE! 6 years later we moved back to GA however, this time we had to move in a Uhaul. When a 26-foot truck and a 12-foot trailer are all you can get - you declutter a lot so all your stuff will fit. It is amazing how moving forces you to identify what you can do without. Congratz on baby #4.
Great comment!
4 kids! How amazing! Congratulations!!
Congratulations on your new baby and your new house !!!!!! Love your cluttering ideas. Hope you have a wonderful day !!!!!! ❤❤
Right after getting your dream kitchen... 😂 New house AND 2nd trimester for your 4th... Impressive! Good for you! 🎉
Congratulations on your pregnancy and new home! May it be blessed with beautiful memories ❤
The poop basement story could be from Dana K White of Decluttering at the Speed of Life. But I’m guessing
I love your videos! This was especially useful, my husband and I live in a giant old (70+ years) church and are hoping to down size. Needless to say, since we have so much space I've become a bit of a hoarder. So has my husband although he won't admit it. I'm one of those people who say "I'll toss this and then need it", after holding on to it for ten years. Thank you so much for this.
Thank you Kallie! I love your videos. Congratulations on baby #4 and your new home.
So many things I gave away before my last move that I now wish I had. Sigh.
I'm changing from one business to another. Going through books isn't easy but I've been asking myself if I've referred to it in the past year. That has been helpful. Some books I can use for my new business.
How do you decide to edit greeting cards?
Thanks for your support. Congratulations on your pregnancy!💐
Congratulations on the new home and new baby!
We are moving also 😅. It's been super crazy and stressful trying to declutter stuff and move everything. Trying to put kids toys in the boxes and they keep taking them out 😂. Trying to get a bigger house and get closer to grandparents.
Good for you Kallie! You seemed a little tight in your last space, so I am nor surprised and happy for ya!
I tend to ask myself "Is it move worthy?" In other words, do I care about enough to pack it, move it, and unpack it and store or use it? Minimal Mom is right - too much inventory to manage.
Thanks for posting videos like this. I’ve followed the tips you gave in this video and previous decluttering videos you’ve posted. I’m more organized now than I’ve ever been.
When did you change from, "But First, Coffee" to "That Practical Mom"?
What would I be willing to wash poop off of this. OMG MIND BLOWN! That will be so helpful - what a great strategy!
Hey Kallie. This was quite helpful. Thank you! And good luck with move, settling in and new addition.
Just stop shopping on a regular basis. You only need food and hygiene products 98% of the time. Shopping is conditioned in our behavior like it's a hobby, but it's not a hobby it's an addiction that cost you a lot of money and time. It's bad as cocaine addiction, cause it's triggers the same receptors in the brain like cocaine.
Definition of resilience: A pregnant woman with kids packing up and moving house!
Congrats on baby #4. So happy for u n ur family. 🙏😘
Sounds like the Minimal Mom’s episode when they had flooding/backup in their basement?
I just realized that most of my house is a "Maybe Box"!
I need to just pack some stuff away and see if anyone misses any of it.
Oh my gosh! I did this 2 year's ago with a 4, 2 and 1 yr old in my second trimester..... i moved from Alaska to Utah. It was intense to say the least.
I moved with with 5 young kids the youngest was a newborn it was insane. I literally packed clutter at the end of my pregnancy to deal with later. It was totally worth that time with my baby!😂😂😂
Oof! The maybe question… I’d get rid of most things before washing poop of of it 😂😂
How do all of these uncluttered channels have so many kids? Anyone know of any childfree true environmentalist minimalism channels?
7:08 the spinning thing...do you the link for that? Thank you. from Philippines.
Congrats on baby #4! How special ❤
Wait pregnant again ? Didn't u just birth a child? Or is this an older video I'm lost lol
Congratulations on your new baby! I hope all is well. 💖💙
Soooo happy for you Kallie!! Congratulations on baby #4!!
Wow - best wishes on new location. (I just did something similar - ha)
Might be a bad look but I wouldn’t wash poop off anything 🤣 I would just throw it out and buy a new one at that point.
