Breaking 70 from 6000 yards is a significant accomplishment in golf. It requires a combination of skill, strategy, and mental toughness. Here are a few tips that may help you achieve this goal:
Focus on your short game: A strong short game is essential for shooting low scores, as it allows you to save shots around the green. Practice your chipping, pitching, and putting to improve your chances of getting up and down.
Choose the right clubs: Know your distances and select the appropriate clubs for each shot. This will help you hit more greens in regulation and give you better chances for birdies.
Develop a consistent swing: A consistent swing is key to hitting accurate shots. Practice regularly and work on your mechanics to develop a repeatable swing.
Manage your course strategy: Use your course management skills to choose the best shots and avoid trouble areas. This may involve laying up short of hazards, aiming for the fat part of the green, or choosing a safer club off the tee.
Stay mentally focused: Golf is a mental game as much as it is a physical game. Stay focused on each shot and try not to get too down on yourself if you hit a bad shot. Trust in your abilities and stay positive.
By working on these areas and practicing consistently, you can improve your chances of breaking 70 from 6000 yards. Good luck! - กีฬา
I think this is the best video you've ever done. This is exactly why a great round can go to shit. So well done. You've got a new boy friend.
So, I watched this video, started reading those books - and shot a 71, -1 today. For perspective, I just broke 80 first time like a month ago. WTF!! Thank you @Golf Sidekick !!
Such an effortless swing. Your ball striking is class. I started playing in February after almost 8 years away from the game and through the way of the playa I'm sub 100 the past 2 rounds. It's coming back 🤞🏼
Thank you Lord Golf Sidekick. Rotellas books have been amazing for me. I always shoot lower the first round out after re reading. The advice is simple and actionable, and gets me away from thinking about mechanics on the course. Much more useful to me than a TH-cam rabbit hole! Great advice as usual, playa.
Congrats playa on breaking 70 and officially becoming Lord Golf Sidekick 😂
This was by far the straightest and most consistent you’ve ever hit it on this channel. Might want to give your hitting 14/18 and those couple green under regulations credit for your score. Putting and chipping got you in the most trouble and your tee shots never lost you a stroke. I mean only one bogey is still outstanding , I don’t want to sound too negative. Congrats playa!!
Focused on putting took away unnecessary thoughts on the rest of the Game. The real point is the playing focus
@@GolfSidekick great video. Bob Rotella is definitely "swimming in the deep end of the pool" compared to his peers. Over the past month or so, my putting has become lethal. Got fitted for a Bettinardi, worked on alignment, practicing putting a couple of times a week, and I'm making putts. Not trying to make as many puts over 20 feet, just getting it to 4-5, knock it in, and GTFO. I'm going to try this mindset when I play this Tuesday and Thursday. Mantra, "I'm the Picasso of putting, and the green is my canvas.", and not get hung up on getting to the green. I will report back, sir.
Tuesday mornings are for tranquility. I love those earliest possible tee times...nothing but the sunrise, morning mist, and a few wild animals with you on the course. It makes a game that can be frustrating sometimes seem quite peaceful.
Greeting from KL and keep up the good work!
What an amazing round! Don’t dwell long on what could have been - enjoy the reality and your achievement. Your videos have inspired me to get back into the game after 10 years away. Your teachings have helped be less harsh on myself, enjoy the good shots and forget the bad ones. Thank you Playa
I liked the voice-over. Great video! I've been doing heads-up putting since last season. It allows me to feel more athletic with putting instead of being so cerebral. I simply pick a spot, look at it, and stroke the ball. My distance putting has improved dramatically. I don't even care a ton if I hole long putts. I just like that it leaves me tap-in pars when I don't make the birdie putt.
Tuesday mornings are for self-improvement! First real golf channel that breaks down the hard work behind a low score. Love the content, keep it coming!!!
Tuesday mornings are for golf, and for practice. Love the game so much, and always practice.
As always, love your videos.
What timing. I’ve been in dire need of putt-focused content. Thanks! 🙏🏼
Its insane how good you've gotten at this game just while I've been subbed.
You know, I've been a subscriber for a long long time and this has to be the best video by far
This is my favorite video of yours so far. Wow. What insight!
Great, great, great video Playa!! Loved the monologue describing your thoughts and process after the fact....congrats on the personal record! Tuesdays mornings are for channeling your inner Golf Sidekick for breaking score barriers!
The most, perfect grass and the graphic makes this look like a video game. Beautiful.
Your description of choking is EXACTLY what I was going through just yesterday. I had 4 straight pars in a row and some of them were quite long to make and really not likely to drop but did. I was confident enough in them that I went for them and on the ones I was less confident about, my "auto-pilot" putting still worked and they dropped! I was thinking "uh oh, could this be it, am I gonna get my PR?". That was the beginning of the choking. The very next hole was a bogey, then a par, then double-bogey. Point is, you explained the process well and thanks for assuring me that I'm not the only one that does it. BTW, I still got to my lowest score ever!
Same exact thing happened to me this week. Onto the next round my friend
Great video, I remember reading that book as a teen and going out the next day and playing an incredible round, it really does help the mental game and is all about commitment and trust
The TH-cam plaque is perfectly displayed. How honored that command strip hook must be. And you can look in the mirror finish as you wash dishes. Waddacarpenter!
Came back to watch this again. Everything about this is awesome. Hearing your thoughts as the round went on with the voiceover, having a playing focus for the day, losing focus, choking, and then coming back and grinding the last two holes at the end. Thanks for the motivation playa!
This is the best way to approach the game of golf. The mindset is more important than the mechanical sequence of actions.
OMG, this is the best course VLOG you have ever done. Love how you describe all our troubles when you know you are close to a PB. Loved how you put it out of your mind on last 2 holes and got your 67! Wadda Round, Lord Baus
Hands down funniest golf youtuber. 10 seconds into the video and youve already got me laughing with that viagra line.
love the voice over this is my favorite video of yours and I've seen almost every single one
I love the voice-over playa. Having a bit of an upsurge in my game at the moment.....hitting fairways....hitting greens.....making putts........got your voice in my head.
Really like your monologues over the playing on the psychology of the game, loads to take into my next round!
The f238ing eagle music is the boss. Loved it especially the laugh. Awesome!
Tuesday mornings are for short game practice.
Commenting on this video cuz it was the first in my suggested feed, told you I broke 90 the other day for the first time in years, 2 birdies in the round and 6 straight fairways found on the back 9. Well playa in chief today I shot a 58 over 9… what a life! We were ridiculously rushed tho since they had an event going on and had terrible planning, so I got 2 free rounds out of it anyway, but the difference in stress free golf is INSANE. The other day I broke the course down into 3’s, didn’t care, and played my game, went amazing. Today being rushed, not having time for a routine, feeling the pressure, couldn’t have gone worse. We sure do make golf hard for ourselves don’t we! Oh well onto next time where we will for sure be keeping it stress free! I’m trying to be better for letting the bad rounds go since they’re bound to happen as an amateur. Thanks for all your advice Cheif, even tho it doesn’t always go our way we can still try!
Tuesday mornings are for the Lord Boyfriends. Congrats on breaking 70, Lord Playa In Chief!
Tuesday mornings are for watching golf sidekick videos whilst at work
wow! you have improved a lot over the last few years.
I don’t know if it is Devine intervention but I’ve seen a lot of your videos and been looking for them lately and couldn’t find them. And boom there you are , the reason I was looking for you is that I find inspiration in the positivity of these posts. Anyways thank you for being a positive light in my golf and in my life cheers from a Texas
Tuesday mornings are for stress free putting.
This year I committed to putting while looking at the hole for all putts outside a few feet, as my issue was always pace and hitting it too short. And I said I would stick with it all year, no waffling or bailing on it mid round. The last few rounds I am seeing my birdie average go up and i am making longer putts.
I noticed on longer putts its a bit hard to look all the way to the hole. I will look into the 5 foot thing. I have been meaning to read putting out of your mind. I read his other book.
Very nice round. I am happy to see you putting in a similar way as I have been. Makes me even more confident it doing it that way.
Classic Golf Sidekick. That scottish greeting cracked me up. Excellent vido, swing looking so smooth and some excellent golf. Gimme that birdie music playa!
Tuesday mornings are for the Playas! Cool to see you play in my home state recently here in the US (Maryland) and one of my favorite courses Blue Mash!
Fantastic news Lord Golf Sidekick-well deserved title. With golf, I played first round (in Canada we have a shorter season) after putting drills and approaches you have taught us and did 31 putts for 18 holes and no 3 putts! These new ideas will be very helpful. Next chipping and pitching!!
Visualize it with feeling. The gold nugget so few understand. Lord Matt. Well played sir. Your thinking process verbalized is on fire brother.
7:59 - the truth. Feel it.
Bro is hitting some of the most consistent golf shots I've seen 😅
Possibly the best I’ve ever hit the golf ball
Wadda round! Awesome ball striking (and putting obviously). Tuesday’s are for setting a series of timed emails to send over a 4 hour period to give the illusion of being in the office. (Though it does involve a late Monday night)
This video is so money, my putting had a miraculous change overnight. Also bought the BR book. TY for the laughs and good advice!
Rotella is really good. "Make your next shot your best shot" is now my constant mantra, it has really helped me get the negativity of a back shot out of my head.
What a cheeky way to get a tip, Ponas Sidekick. Glad it planted a tree. Your videos have brought me back into the game after a long haitus. And now I have a title as well! Ačiū!
Great video. You made golf look easy with this mental approach.
Tuesday mornings are for 9 holes pre work and getting jealous of all the retired members getting ready to tee off as we come in to the car park! Great round and great video as always!
Bravo! Extremely useful. Honest as always. And an excellent round after all. Congrats!
Great video Matt. Was in a similar situation a few weeks ago. Cruising and on course to shoot a 72 but changed my approach the last 3 holes. Will take a lot of good from your advise and Vlog plus read Bob Rotella's book. Thx!!!
The force is strong with this Lord Golf Sidekick. Lugan strong.
Tuesday mornings are for EVERYONE, Matt!!
I hope you come to play Hokkaido one day. Many fun tracks to be a playa on. Your videos are really helping. Removed all my hero shots and using the punch shot whenever in trouble. Looking to consistently break 90 from here on out. You are a legend!
I agree 100% I got stuck shooting 2-4 over and couldn't get over that hump. Dr Bob is 👍 confidence putting is key, along with hitting greens. Your brain believes what you tell it!
You have a great radio voice. Excellent voice over playa. Wadda man.
Brilliant round, well done Matt
I’m really enjoying your videos. Thank you so much. I drive a fuel truck all day and listen to your videos and watch while I’m dropping. I’ve been out of golf for a couple years and have recently got back. I had my handicap down to a 5 two years ago and I did that by exactly what you’re teaching. I have watched and listed to bobs books. I played in a summer league, never hit a driver one time and ended up in the championship loosing to my buddy by 2 shots. Fairways and greens do work. !!! Most of the guys I played against in the league would ridicule me for not playing driver and couldn’t understand…. They didn’t make it to the championship. Cheers.
Thanks playa keep on trucking
Tuesday mornings are for lovely lines in the dew curving 1.5 feet and ending in the center of the hole.
Tuesday mornings is for the serenity of playing solo golf
Great mental insights into things that can trip golfers.
What a beautiful landscape from that par 3 tee box. Tuesday mornings are for the Lovable Lithuanian Lords!
What a round...my favourite Golf Sidekick video to date! So you know, your channel inspired me to start my own golf vlogging channel just over a year ago. I set myself a 2 year challenge to go from 100++ to breaking 80. I was reticent to write to you before until my game had improved somewhat...but I'd love to join you for a round if you're ever in Phuket. I hope to hear back from you soon, Mat. Thanks.
Hey man just wanted to say I’m new to your channel and it’s so great. You really put things into perspective for amateur golfers like myself. Great content and keep it up!
Read this book after your recommendation my golf mind has changed so much and my score is showing. Great book. 👌🏻
@golf Sidekick
Playa, you have discovered the joys of heads up putting. letting your inner athlete come out and no need to focus on mechanics, just send the ball home!
Tuesday mornings are for the Brotellas. Nice work Matt!
Best Golf channel on 'Thetube' bar none!
Just wow... great round! And great video. Congratulations!
Congrats Matthew. You’ve become a playa. Also Caddie got back
Congrats Matty. So happy for you man
I've messed around with looking at the hole (really my line) from 10 ft and in and found quite a bit of success with it especially on straighter putts.
Really enjoyed watching this Matt. I have to say it’s the best I have seen you swing the club, period. Well done 👍
Best video in a while bro. I like the voice over
Matt watched this 2 days ago. Shot 78 on the front today, started with no swing and went bogie, bogie. Told myself that I can come back from a poor start. Finished the 9 with a bogie and then had a mental lapse and hit a terrible putt on 10, another bogie. Played one under the next 8 and shot my lowest score in about 2 years. I don’t think I would have made it without watching this video. Even though I knew the score I played each shot. I’ve developed a slightly different approach to putting. I line the ball up and when I get over the ball, I say yo myself, “see the line, be the line”. So instead of having doubt about the line, I’m accepting I’ve made the right decision. (I have no depth perception so this is difficult). The other thing I’ve done last couple of rounds is trying not to over read putts. I want to think that there had to be a break on every putt. Today I played 2 8 ft putts as straight putts and made them both.
Stunning round. Well done playa
Wow what a round. I've just had 35 putts yesterday after only hitting 6 greens, will need to take some of these tips
Great video, and love the post-round commentary as well. Great learning here.
Congrats on breaking 70! 👏
I enjoy your videos. Like another commenter, I’ve been away from golf for about 7 or 8 years. I’ve been watching your vids and a few other channels and hitting long and straight, scoring mid 80’s to 90. And I have a bad left shoulder and bad right knee. Walking the course carrying my bag too. I am all in!! My goal is to get a few rounds in the 70’s before the season here is over.
Great work on this round!
Dude what an amazing round!
Matt I like the voice-over approach!
Love hearing your process bro. Great video!
Great video boet! I was literally in the same situation on Sunday. Defo going to give that book a read
Thanks
Geez Matt; talk about KILLING it! I definitely stress way too hard over my putting; time to change that!
Ive had trouble with my putting after coming back from injuries main,y due to a loss of feel and technique. My coach got my technique sorted but what’s really helped me has been Rotella’s Putting Out of Your Mind. Mainly due to the same thing Lord Sidekick is doing and actually forgetting about the ball. For the last 5-6 months I haven’t looked at the ball when putting and have instead looked at my spot 3 inches in front of the ball. It helped me for the same reasons as Lord Sidekick as once I know my face is lined up I look away and don’t look at stance or face alignment. It has completely freed me up and put all my emphasis on line. It’s the biggest revelation over the past 6 months which has seen the biggest improvement on course.
Tuesday morning are for loving putting, whether it goes in or not.
Tuesday mornings are for planting feathers :)
Playa! That was awesome. If that is wrong, I don’t want to be right Baus.
Tuesday mornings are for, enjoying golf, the soulful melodies of Luther Ingram, and all the people in the struggle.
Listened to this book twice today and then took some strategies to the practice green. Amazing difference! I was hoping everything. Let’s see if I can focus and stay committed to the new routine during mens league this week…
Tuesday mornings are for practice rounds before work. got lots to work on and I am working back from the green after watching the approach video on strokes shaved. Stay in the game playa
Cheers to playa in chief for the personal best!
congratsss playaaa for your breaing 70 woohoooo!!!
I’ve listened to five or six of Rotella’s golf books, but actually not “Putting out of your mind”. Guess right after this video will be as good a time as any to start. Cheers!
Me too. Only putting out of your mind is on constant rotation
Dude nice round! I finally broke 100 last year using your videos as guidance and plan on breaking 90 soon. Wait to go on your best round ever!
Lithuania's foremost embassador to the golfin' world getting it done like a Baus.
Spectacular round playa, congrats!
Congrats on the caddie.
67 is well done! I have a feeling you’re just starting to get warm. You did leave some out there, looking forward to seeing you go get it. Great Video today! 💪🏽
Tuesday mornings are for coffee and short game practice!
thnks Matt, Brilliant could not have come at better time for Me, been 3 x putting 8 to 9 greens a round for 2. 3 was.. Damm. now Positive go get em
Love it Love it Love it , A Fantastic Round Congratulations ! I am taking notes about your play out on the course with me , I am starting to hit in the high 80s now consistently, I put the driver away except for the par 5s , I’ve been hitting my 4 hybrid more off the Tee, All based on your suggestions !
I have also lowered my club count to 9, less club decisions makes golf more fun !
Bob Rotella or you showing off for the caddie, maybe both, you decide
You really captured the importance of the mental part of the game. Best front 9 you ever produced and spot on self analysis. Imagine standing on the medal platform at the next Olympics wearing the bucket hat and and listening to the Lithuania national anthem.
