It impresses me how Arsenal were able to scout and capture this talent from Brazil's 3rd division. I don't think it was the raw talent that they were after, but intelligence, adaptability, development and decision making. Really impressive scouting!
They definitely looked at the mentality side of things too. He was rejected numerous times at United and Barca, hence why he plays with a chip on his shoulders esp against big teams he always turns up if you watch him carefully. He’s very fearless and hungry

What i like about this kid is that he's very forward thinking. He's all about going forward whether it's dribbling with the ball or whether pass and go. He's not about slow the play up, play side to side or backwards. He's got good appetite too.

He looks awesome in these clips but, here's what you didn't see: - No evidence of him tracking back to make a tackle, or interception - in the Premier league wingers have to recover as the game is faster. - Heavily right-footed, yet no evidence of him cutting inside to have a long-shot - in the EPL a lot of the full backs are fast, you won't always be able to get it all the way to the byline and switch it to your stronger foot before you're dispossessed, so you'll need to have more tricks than a lofted pass and/or byline play. - No evidence of him being able to handle physical play - in the EPL, people won't let him just run past them without leaning on him first. Does he go down very easily? Will he be able to handle that physical pressure. As an Arsenal fan, i'm sceptical. However, it's good to see he looks up and makes the right decisions often, and his skills will make him tough to play against for anyone. I hope.
