    I prefer the snap on. Much more comfortable in my hand and I prefer the button to the Milwaukee paddle. Warranty doesn’t mean much as I replace electric stuff every 2-3 or so years. These aren’t like air tools you don’t keep them for decades at a time, they are more akin to a cell phone. Use them and wait until the next gen model then upgrade to that. Also the speed difference is insane

  • @michaelangelo5783
    @michaelangelo5783 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Of course the Milwaukee feels weak, you have like a 1.5 or 2.0ah battery in it. Put in the equivalent physical sized battery to the Snap-On, slap a square XC 4.0 or 6.0ah in the M12 and it will be much punchier. Not to mention, what's the Snap-On cost?
    *edit* so I looked up the Snap-On on their website (now I don't know if the "trucks" discount prices): $282 bare tool, $520 with 2x2.5ah batteries and charger. WOW. I guess if you're a pro mechanic and they're that much better. You can get the Fuel Extended Ratchets every big sale at HD (4-5x a year) for about $160 bare tool and M12 batteries and chargers are everywhere from sales at Home Depot to eBay and OfferUp for around $9-10/ah. So really, we're talking $250 vs $500.

    I don't have long neck 1/4" but my snap on 3/8 long neck non brute cordless ratchet is probably my favorite/most used tool along with my snapon Ct9010 and Ct761. I've never been a fan of the Milwaukee m12 line, especially the ratchets because of how loose the batteries are, the paddle, the lower rpm, and how bulky the head is. I also noticed at least with Milwaukee 3/8 is non greasable head. Only downside I noticed with snapon cordless ratchets is that the brushed motor wears out after about a year or 2 of hard every day use. Can't wait until the snap on goes brushless in the cordless ratchets.

    The design on the snap on is way better than that of the Milwaukee. The head is slimmer which allows you to get into tighter spaces. As for removing bolts with the head rotating to me is a nono you always break them loose then you remove the bolt. I work on medium duty diesels and the snap on is king because of the little space we have to work with. If you need it for back yard work or weekend work sure Milwaukee will do the job but when you need it for everyday real life situations where little details matter where millimeters are vital snap on is go to even the Matco is a great one because of the slimmer design and the reliability.

    i have the snap on 1/4 inch as well and i use it on the lexus lx air pump recall. saves time and like your homie said, i choose the snap on because of the trigger. Wish snap on used the same trigger on the long necks as they do on the 3/8 cordless impacts with the reverse and on triggers

  • @TheytellToomanylies

    Your using it wrong. You have to use it like air ratchet. You have to break fastener free like a ratchet or air ratchet, and then hit the button, and when tightening you have to ease off as you get close to the end and stop then use the ratchet motion again. For breaking and fastening down as you do in the video there is another tool and it is an 'impact' ratchet.
    This tool in the video is just for spinning free bolts quicker than by hand. A literal ratchet that turns itself when fastner is free

    • @LetsDriftMedia
      @LetsDriftMedia  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It was to show the differences in breakaway torque as claimed by each manufacturer. Clearly you shouldn't expect a 1/4" ratchet to break super tight bolts loose. I wanted to see if these things could loosen bolts torqued to what they claim they are capable of. Thanks for watching though !

    Snap on hands down! I own both and Milwaukee battery design is garbage. If you use them on a daily the Milwaukee battery casing will start cracking due to vibration and Milwaukee would not warranty my batteries 👎 I had to use epoxy to reattach the battery back into to casing lol also battery’s would quit working just got tired of buying battery’s. Haven’t had anything major on the snap on yet. If you’re not a heavy line technician go for the Milwaukee it’s still a good tool.
