It was frustrating to watch because there were to many unrelated and misguiding pictures. It was NOT a bunker with nuclear rockets. It’s a fallout shelter built in the early sixties because of the Cold War with Russia. It could have been so much better if you had stayed with photos of him, his family and friends digging it out, remodeling it and what it looked like when it was finished. You also could have interviewed people who lived through those scary times so that we could understand why someone would be driven to build a fallout shelter in their back yard! And then it would have been a shorter, more factual and interesting story!

My friend purchased from our government a silo in the Midwest that had been put there for a missal place. He worked it over to become a safe place under ground to get away and be safe from.a nuclear war. It was huge and he had in the last 30 years made under ground apartments. It is really crazy in a ironic way not in a mentally unstable way. He has a huge fish tank to feed a complete underground garden. It is a unbeliveable fairy tale shelter to maintain life but under ground. He had experience when he was stationed in area 51. He was sa nuclear scientist back in the day.

None of these images are of Tucson, Arizona. Here in Southern Arizona, we live in the Sonoran Desert. We are not surrounded by oak trees, pine forests and waterfalls. In reality, we are surrounded by thorny cactus, baren dirt hiking trails and dry river beds.
I found a boring old dead body in my back yard a few years back when we were renovating. It wasn’t in a coffin or anything, so we just picked up as many bones as possible to keep them separate, then buried it again under the dirt we excavated. It had jewellery round the body’s skull though it was weird- guess the coffin just rotted away. So pretty sure it was a woman and as I said, just put the bones back to ground like half a mile from the dig. We just ignored the little bones but all the big ones we got.
One thing that bothered me was the necklace a buddy told me like we have them are only made in the last 100 years and usually they expect a coffin but he said not always, some land rots them quick so that’s what’s happened here. Shame. But we needed that new swimming pool and that means digging! Not to offend anyone.
Wow. What a shock. A bomb shelter from 1961. Quel surprise! But the BIG question that this video adequately answers is, "How do you take a three-minute story and stretch it out for another 20"?

My mom told me that my grandfather started digging out a basement underneath their house when she was growing up. It was around that same time when everyone wanted a bomb shelter. She said, but when they started getting water bugs... he filled all the dirt back in that big hole. Poor ole Pawpaw. 😑 She said, he worked so hard. They moved away from that house when I was about 4 years old into another house that had a basement.
Since I am more than "merely acquainted" with Tucson (I've lived in Arizona for over 60 years) when I noticed all those goofy-assed pictures at the beginning that had no connection to Arizona (let alone Tucson) I knew we were being scammed for his monitized channel. Turns out I was correct...

remind me not to ask you what time is it!
Hi Bonnie hope you are having a good day so far??
Uh, duhhhhh! Something big buried in 1961! Uhhhh, one of those kookie bomb shelters perhaps!!!

That's exactly what I was thinking. I remember those days of fear of bombs

Listening to this story getting to the point is kind of like listening to Edith Bunker getting to the point.
Ha!Ha! You are right on target.
Another 3 minute video stretched to the limit!
I appreciate all of the comments that saved me from watching this video I just skip to the end
I like the ending but it’s a pain in the rear to get there!
Great Story. We may all need is one our backyard. In case of Russia or China or even as storm cellar.
So many words spoken

Mr Sim's must have been incredibly wealthy😳
Well...there goes 22,40 minutes I'll never get back!
S T R E C H E D a story 5 times longer than needed to be, for a bomb shelter!!!!
Love your determination and resiliency. Thank you for sharing your story. What a new and inspiring purpose for you, John..
Narrator should attend exams in India, he can write 25 pages out of one simple topic.
John Sims was digging the land, narrator is digging curiosity. 😁
