I have a Mk111 Pro. The thing is awesome. I’ve been shooting it more than my mod 2’s lately. Around 6k through my pro so far with no issues. I Clean it every 2k rounds, it just keeps on tickin.

I bought a Mk111 Pro and slapped it on my old PWS lower (after I got my Form 1 approved). I absolutely love it. cleaning it is so easy compared to DI. Only negative I have found is the area around the bolt release is not milspec, so you can't install a larger release like the Gieisselle Maritime. But that's minor.
I swear every time I'm looking at buying something new sage dynamics releases a video on that exact product within days keep up the good work love your channel
Bought the mk116 pro upper for like $650 only shot it suppressed so far with my Turbo K. Perfectly gassed and doesn't feel all that heavy compared to my 16" DI ARs. Best part is not crying while I shoot. Love this system. Now gonna get the mk111 upper. Only time I used the forward assist is in the usmc where they make you use it when you load a mag to make sure it is seated. And it always was.
PWS makes a fine product, unfortunately none of the shops near me carry them. In 2018 I took a gamble and bought a MK111 Mod 2 on closeout and was blown away. The fit and finish and performance are stellar. I am glad that PWS offers a lower cost option and I have recommended the PRO series to several people looking for a quality AR.
Love my PWS guns. I have a mk111 mod 1 in 556, a mk111 mod 2 in 7.62x39 and am on the verge of purchasing a mk109 in 300 blk. They just shoot so clean suppressed. Love this pro because for the price it’s such a good value. When I tell my buddy’s about my pws and they complain about price I can show them this and they can get it. For $600 with a bcg and charging handle this is such an excellent value
This is the best upper I own, and I own many! Absolutely amazing suppressed. Soft shooter, quiet for an AR with a yhm turbo, stays way cleaner than DI and less gas in your face. Love it!

I own LWRC, Barrett, Sig, FN, and PWS. And, yes, everyone is unique and has their preferences. For me, my absolute favorite rifle is the mk111 mod2. So much so that I bought a 2nd one, which I will outfit identically and they will be my shtf protection. IMO, nothing I own operates as well, shoots as well, or gives me the grins like the mk111 mod 2. They are that good. Better than the LWRCs, the Sigs, the Barretts? For me, 100% yes. BTW: 2nd favorite is the rec7 gen2 flyweight.

PWS products in general are fantastic. Lower cost just means less bells and whistles but same functionality as their more expensive lines. 100% agree with once you try it you’ll grab a mod2

VERY IMPORTANT! This upper is NOT compatible with magpuls BAD LEVER, it is on their website, please don't make the mistake I did, all reviewers haven't mentioned this. It's a great upper otherwise but for $800+ that is disappointing. The BAD lever is compatible with only MOD 1 and MOD 2 generations, the PRO series is really thick and ever so slightly actuates the bolt catch causing it to jam even when using the charging handle. Good luck out there and train hard!
Does the vertical grip you are running on this still legally make it a pistol since it has a brace? Or is this automatically an sbr since this has a vertical foregrip? Please advise as I want to run a bcm foregrip on my ar pistol and it’s semi-vertical as well.
As long as the overran length is greater then 26"" you can put a vertical grip on. The mk111 is over 26" in length, its like 28+ if I remember correctly. Great video. Just one thing, looking at the exact same thing, but when I looked into the SRB tax, it stated you can’t have a vertical grip on a pistol... does the grip you have get around that? And if so, which handle is that?

Vertical grip on a pistol? That’s one area of the law I’m not familiar with. The atf is unconstitutional anyway but I’m also not trying to get my dogs shot. Is that legal?

Paul Lo Cicero if the buffer tub folds, IT MUST BE MEASURED FOLDED to get the overall length and that is to the barrel end, not to the comp, or FS if not pinned on. You seem like a very angry person, read the ATF option I posted!
Brad Howard I use the Vendetta Precision VP-24 hand stop because it gives me that vertical angle while not being a vertical grip. I know I can put a VG on my MK111, but I don’t want to spend my time at the range getting hassled by the RSO’s.
George F the ATF released a new “White paper” stating NO pistol grips can be put on pistols EVEN if they are over 26” a few months back. So this set up would not be legal FYI. I’m a class 3 dealer btw...

Curious why? 1:8 stabilizes just about everything that is commonly available. Also the slower twist will let fmj rounds yaw quicker inside flesh, so if there ever were an instance where you had to shoot something living and all you had was m193 or equivalent, it would do more damage. What are you shooting out of a shorter barrel at that 1:8 won't do well? If I'm being oblivious to something, please let me know.

Idk about you but I like knowing for 100% percent certain I have a round in the chamber (especially for self defense/duty use) and a forward assist just makes chamber checking easier. That's the only reason I use it and its the only thing holding me back from owning a PWS. I just don't understand why it's such a difficult thing to offer a model that has a forward assist when literally every other AR15 manufacturer (retro builds not withstanding) offers it and you certainly do not have to use it if you dont want to. Whatever. Their loss. I'll just enjoy my AWESOME and utterly reliable BCM.

Last time I used the forward assist I was putting an upper onto a different lower than usual. Well the tension screw under from the pistol grip that tightens the upper/lower fitment was out too far. I pulled back the charging handle and the bolt got stuck about an inch back. Forward assist saved me from getting out the tools and removing my grip to loosen tge other screw. Rookie move I know but there's my only use of forward assist so far.

I agree 100%. I own a P415 with 14.5" bbl, a P415 pistol and Revolution 7.62x51. Great build quality, amazing innovation with proprietary features. I have had zero issues. I like their piston system with no reservations. Their Customer service has been great to answer all my questions.

I prefer a lwrc. Yes its more money yes but u get a forward assist a flared magwell an ambidextrous controls right out of the box. And a better barrel in my opinion. But again more money while yours is a budget so I get it
I totally respect your opinion about the pws being the best piston AR. However I argue that POF makes the best pistol AR on the market they are on par with the mod2 in terms of price and features.

@@riotman2020 I've got it on an lower I've had four a few years for now, but I'm going to get a mod 2 lower for it. I like their ambi setup. I did get a pws buffer tube set up for the old lower for now. That actually did help with the action. It helped smooth the initial bcg moment out a lot. I guess there is some carrier tilt with them and the pws tube smooths it out. But with that buffer tube and a h2 buffer, this is the smoothest shooting rifle I've ever shot.
I should be more specific, the PWS is better at mitigation of recoil. There is less carrier tilt than a gas tapet system, and long stroke pistons do make bolt override malfunctions way less likely. 416 have way more service time in certain units, and they're damn good rifles, but they have had a fair share of issues.
@@rifleshooterchannel208 doing just fine on the gym front, but recoil impulse matters, one of the nice things about the 416Ds is that they were heavy and it helped mitigate the recoil. I don't think you're going to hear anyone complain about a rifle shooting flater or having a smoother recoil impulse.
Very cool rifle. However I will never see the point in an external piston AR. I just don't see any real benefit whatsoever. Just get a Gemtech suppressor bolt carrier.
Toki -EJ1 I have both except using a bootleg adjustable carrier. I have to admit they shoot similar enough, but the PWS runs cleaner and is easier to clean up. I run both only suppressed, and there is just more gas and junk with DI even with the adjustable carrier. Honestly, the only reason I keep the DI is because I can swap a 22lr kit in it which is so fun. If not running suppressed all the time, the DI is a smidge lighter and parts/working on it yourself is way easier
@@trunkmonkey56 Sorry to reply to an old comment, but I hear piston guns can get hand guards hotter. Is that only a problem with lots of fire, or do you just need different hand position?
@@WaterZer0 no problem at all. Lot more rounds through my 2 PWS now, and come to find out the 22lr conversion kit works in those as well. The DI rifles haven't left the safe. To answer your question, yes the handguards do heat up more and faster than the DI, but not in a ridiculous amount of I'm sure we'd hear much more about what a problem it is. All that I needed to do was install handguard covers like rail scales or the hot Pocket. Then I forgot about it until your comment here as it's been years with those on both piston guns. My hands are up on a hand stop, and operating pressure pads at the front of the gun around the gas block with no problems.
@@WaterZer0 I would do it. I did it twice actually. With the Pro, you get the same barrel and BCG. The rail is simpler to make, and the extruded upper is cheaper to produce. PWS makes everything in house so QC and warranty if needed is fantastic. The FN scar also uses an extruded upper. It still gets chamber blow back suppressed as that's unavoidable with most cans, but it's not hot caked on gas like a DI gun. It wipes right off. That lack of heat provides less stress on AR parts that typically need replaced like bolts, extractors, cam pins. You can use standard DI parts there if necessary.
Got my PWS MK-111 Pro 3 years ago. It’s a mighty fine tool and shoot phenomenally. I live in Idaho so I support my local gun shop.

You're a smart guy - I've done the same in 16" and even went with a 7.62x39. I too have a MK107 MOD 2-M UPPER .223 WYLDE.

My pws upper won’t work on my radian lower but will work with my psa lower.
No surprise there. Radian doesn't really have any proven track record building guns... just accessories
PWS uppers dont fit well on any lower with an extended bolt release from what ive read.

I think the sage upper was in OD green, doesn't matter what the differences are it wins cause its OD green.

As long as the overall all length of the firearm is over 26 inches it's legal, although I'd always check your individual state laws as well.
George F the ATF released a new “White paper” stating NO pistol grips can be put on pistols EVEN if they are over 26” a few months back. So this set up would not be legal FYI.

Curious why? 1:8 stabilizes just about everything that is commonly available. Also the slower twist will let fmj rounds yaw quicker inside flesh, so if there ever were an instance where you had to shoot something living and all you had was m193 or equivalent, it would do more damage.
What are you shooting out of a shorter barrel at that 1:8 won't do well? If I'm being oblivious to something, please let me know.

Idk about you but I like knowing for 100% percent certain I have a round in the chamber (especially for self defense/duty use) and a forward assist just makes chamber checking easier. That's the only reason I use it and its the only thing holding me back from owning a PWS. I just don't understand why it's such a difficult thing to offer a model that has a forward assist when literally every other AR15 manufacturer (retro builds not withstanding) offers it and you certainly do not have to use it if you dont want to. Whatever. Their loss. I'll just enjoy my AWESOME and utterly reliable BCM.

Last time I used the forward assist I was putting an upper onto a different lower than usual. Well the tension screw under from the pistol grip that tightens the upper/lower fitment was out too far. I pulled back the charging handle and the bolt got stuck about an inch back. Forward assist saved me from getting out the tools and removing my grip to loosen tge other screw. Rookie move I know but there's my only use of forward assist so far.

I agree 100%. I own a P415 with 14.5" bbl, a P415 pistol and Revolution 7.62x51. Great build quality, amazing innovation with proprietary features. I have had zero issues. I like their piston system with no reservations. Their Customer service has been great to answer all my questions.
WeeeThPpl it would be cool if I could find a POF that could make it through a 1K course of fire without breaking. Haven’t seen it yet. I imagine their RMA is in the 50% range.

I totally respect your opinion about the pws being the best piston AR. However I argue that POF makes the best pistol AR on the market they are on par with the mod2 in terms of price and features.

@@riotman2020 I've got it on an lower I've had four a few years for now, but I'm going to get a mod 2 lower for it. I like their ambi setup. I did get a pws buffer tube set up for the old lower for now. That actually did help with the action. It helped smooth the initial bcg moment out a lot. I guess there is some carrier tilt with them and the pws tube smooths it out. But with that buffer tube and a h2 buffer, this is the smoothest shooting rifle I've ever shot.

I should be more specific, the PWS is better at mitigation of recoil. There is less carrier tilt than a gas tapet system, and long stroke pistons do make bolt override malfunctions way less likely. 416 have way more service time in certain units, and they're damn good rifles, but they have had a fair share of issues.
John Patelzick If I was worried about recoil in a 5.56mm I would be shopping for a gym membership instead of a new gun.
@@rifleshooterchannel208 doing just fine on the gym front, but recoil impulse matters, one of the nice things about the 416Ds is that they were heavy and it helped mitigate the recoil. I don't think you're going to hear anyone complain about a rifle shooting flater or having a smoother recoil impulse.

Very cool rifle. However I will never see the point in an external piston AR. I just don't see any real benefit whatsoever. Just get a Gemtech suppressor bolt carrier.
Toki -EJ1 I have both except using a bootleg adjustable carrier. I have to admit they shoot similar enough, but the PWS runs cleaner and is easier to clean up. I run both only suppressed, and there is just more gas and junk with DI even with the adjustable carrier. Honestly, the only reason I keep the DI is because I can swap a 22lr kit in it which is so fun. If not running suppressed all the time, the DI is a smidge lighter and parts/working on it yourself is way easier
@@trunkmonkey56 Sorry to reply to an old comment, but I hear piston guns can get hand guards hotter. Is that only a problem with lots of fire, or do you just need different hand position?
@@WaterZer0 no problem at all. Lot more rounds through my 2 PWS now, and come to find out the 22lr conversion kit works in those as well. The DI rifles haven't left the safe. To answer your question, yes the handguards do heat up more and faster than the DI, but not in a ridiculous amount of I'm sure we'd hear much more about what a problem it is. All that I needed to do was install handguard covers like rail scales or the hot Pocket. Then I forgot about it until your comment here as it's been years with those on both piston guns. My hands are up on a hand stop, and operating pressure pads at the front of the gun around the gas block with no problems.

I was debating getting a PWS pro upper, and it's sounding more appealing than building my own DI upper.
@@WaterZer0 I would do it. I did it twice actually. With the Pro, you get the same barrel and BCG. The rail is simpler to make, and the extruded upper is cheaper to produce. PWS makes everything in house so QC and warranty if needed is fantastic. The FN scar also uses an extruded upper. It still gets chamber blow back suppressed as that's unavoidable with most cans, but it's not hot caked on gas like a DI gun. It wipes right off. That lack of heat provides less stress on AR parts that typically need replaced like bolts, extractors, cam pins. You can use standard DI parts there if necessary.
