He's also not malicious. He finds Billie to be rude for trying to take his gem, but when he discovers she's alive, forgives her for being "rude" and even offers to admit her into his party provided she leave her mortal form behind.
It's even funnier than the original chase, and you can see Barnaby throws everything but the kitchen sink at you as well! Edit: Is it ironic that the mansion chase, scenario and all, looks more *alive* than before? It's just amazing, I can't stop looking at the stained glass and the details. (And that cake, look at that cake.) Can't wait for the ghosts animation. Noticed they are as silly as Barnaby when backing him. Highlights: "Pit of snakes", they turn into snakes. "Tragicomedy", there are five of them watching a duo play something like Romeo and Juliet summarized. "We'll put you in a fancy hearse!", it's hinted to be a car crash when one of the car's wheels pop back from offscreen. Also, at the ending, as much as it's a little screen occlusion, they are all jamming to the song and point at Billie in the end.

I don’t know Jack shit about this game but the music is fire and the little ghosts look like chibi Boos and I just love the overall visuals and soundtrack.

Barnaby reminds me of a character I cannot place from the 80s/90s. Video game character, completely black, shaped kind of the same way, no verbal dialogue (more like from the early Final Fantasy games). I wish I could remember what it's from!

Here Barnaby just looks much more sinister and malicious, and seeing the cut-scene prior to the game's chase, it doesn't seem like Barnaby was actually trying to be evil. He's basically just a deranged Pinkie Pie looking for a new guest to his party, and I miss that aesthetic to his character.

I love that Barnaby's feet reach through the doorway to try and grab her once she's out of sight during the "bury you alive" segment.
