Behind the Scenes - "Summer Snow" in the Studio

This is Michael Blum's beautiful compostion, Summer Snow. Here I am reading the chart and playing my Juzek, plywood double bass. circa 1935.
Michael sings and plays all parts other than bass.

A couple of day ago we began recording for Michael Blum's new CD, Reservoir. His tunes are absolutely wonderful. Michael composed the songs, sang, and played his guitars on each track. All the parts other than bass and drums, to be added by Dave DiCenso, are played by Michael as well.
I tracked the double bass on 5 songs, and electric bass on 1 song. Next week we will add Dave, and my electric bass on 4 more songs.
I am so excited to be a part of such a precious recording.

Are you reading the notated bass line that Michael Blum coposed or is it your line and you'rereading the chord chart? Btw, thanks for this. I really enjoyed it. Also, really enjoyed Leap of Faith on an earlier vid.
