This system depends on fast and capable wingers to stretch the opponents so we can play those triangles, if we get those our midfielders will play as they did at the start of the season. We are play too narrow because of the wide players ( Kulu and no Werner) lacking or missing from the squad

It’s more dependent on their wing backs to me.
No problem with the narrow shape, if it’s even considered as narrow at all. Spurs have bad quality passing, wider play will not help opening tight formation, which is what every team is using against Spurs.
They want to push the wing backs at their third to stretch them open for the midfield to goal, they have been close in the last few games but lack of quality players.
The can keep going with better players, or Spurs can sack another manager.

Hi Sonny , I rate Toney as a player but I’m super worried about his mentality. Seems like a real tool . Ange doesn’t like bad eggs and I think he’s one ☝️

• Hold up & Head a ball like Toney
• Cross & Take Set Pieces & Corners like Ward Prowse
• Defend and Cross like Walker / Trippier

Sonny makes a good point striker wise you either spend massive money on a player from abroad (sesko) and hope they can adjust to the premier league or spend big on an unproven foreign (brobbey) player or way over market value for a striker from the premium league (solanke).
The priority is Striker, Winger then a 6 is much based on what we do with Lo Celso, Hoijberg, Skipp and Bissouma ... then LB this 4 will be good.

The first question to ask before all others is, "How many times is VDV going to be out injured next season?" The answer is probably at least twice therefore we need proper cover there NOT a makeshift band-aid.
My first wish for replacement would be Kulu by a mile- only has a left foot so can’t cross on the right wing and doesn’t track back, he’s better in the middle but there are so many better players about that are better than him. We also need a creative mid and 2 competing for place striker

Already Kelly has signed for Newcastle, Tosin does not want to join us. Straight away we are behind the 9 ball. Also I am reading other targets that refuse to join us. So again we will end up with , B, C players.
Both those center backs are back ups at Newcastle and at Tottenham

For me, the priotiries have to be left winger, no. 6 and backup fullbacks for the summer. It's not ideal but we can make do with the likes of Kulu, LoCelso, Skipp, Richy & Forster for one more season before we upgrade on them. The likes of Rodon, Tanganga, Emerson, Sess, Davies, Regi, PEH, Gil etc obviously all need to be moved on ASAP.
Reguillon can be used as a back up LB. He's better than davies .. but we need atleast 2 good wingers a striker 2 midfielder and a another good RB
Skipp is club trained. He didn't get the minutes because Hojbjerg was available almost every game this season. But his display against Liverpool offers some hope.
Holberg was a pass as a sub earlier in season, but the second half he has been terrible. Sell. Emerson, sell yesterday. I don't want a striker unless Levy finds his wallet, no more mid table strikers. Son plays wing or not at all until Ange gets all the players he wants.
We won't win Europa or any other trophy and we won't finish top 4 next season either because of one reason, ENIC. We had our chance, and Poch selected an injured Kane instead of Moura.

The rebuild has already been completed. From the side that beat Ajax in the CL, only Son and Davies are left in the squad. Everyone has been moved on. The problem is the rebuild has been botched and has made the team worse as opposed to improving it.

However still hope to see home quota and player with some size, physical and pace , the energy levels , still required in many squad rotations . The tempo requires technical , so Eze is a player that fits the wing profile , Branthwaite at CB/LB , Gallagher has all round technical good to rotate in Mid, but still want a specialist 6, Hoping Bissouma will develop into that , not as down on Richi who I think is a good physical player , we have been spoiled with Kane and Son , sadly with the property development Levy has wasted the opportunity IMO.

Predictability is fine when you have the players who can outplay other teams (Man City are the perfect example), but once the system has been worked out and you DON'T have the players who can outperform, THEN at very least you need something as an element of surprise.. So, either Ange has to learn an alternative way of playing, or we need to buy top quality players with a good track record on injuries! Honestly? I don't care which, but 100% we need one of those options!

Toney is like Adebayor. The problem is not his football skill. You just expect Toney to be a problem at some point. It may be an off field issue, clash with the club or team mate over something. He isn't young. If he is a bust after the big money move, there is no way to get the money back.

For me, if you're not changing much of the starting lineup, then BJ should be on the right, Son on the left and Richarlison up front. Another striker is definitely needed. The potency of the front third takes pressure off the defense because other teams "adapt" to that potency. Ange wants other teams to adapt to them, not the other way around.

Im surprised no one has brought up o'riley from celtic. Linked with inter milan in january. Knows anges system. Can play any part of the midfield and is only 22 years old. Great player and has the work rate and creativity to take some pressure off of it always being on maddison

Lo Celso has talent. You get the feeling that he doesn't love the club and thinks he is better than us.
He does have some talent, but not suited to the premier league. Not quite strong enough physically for this league. Lamela had both the talent and the physical characteristics to excel in England. Lo Celso and Gil just don't have it physically. Kind of like Jansen a few years ago as a striker.
At 28, Toney would be a lousy risk. An injury prone season and he'd be as good as a significantly devalued second hand car with a lousy service record. And how much would we have to pay for him? £50m?

Unpopular opnion: I would sell Son before I sold Richarlson. Why? Son is a better football player, but Richarlson suits the system better. Son would still command a relatively huge transfer figure, perhaps just as much as a Saudi bid for Richarlson. Richarlson would thrive in this system with the right kind of wingers. I'm not saying we can't get a better #9 than Richarlson, we certainly could, but the money that Son would bring in could pay for that top-flight midfielder you are mentioning. And let's be honest, Son's best days are behind him.
I think Richarlison is in the top 3 strikers in the league. Only Haarland and maybe Watkins are better (i do like Selanke as well). If Ange wants to continue this style (we know he will) then an upgrade in the middle of the park is the biggest requirement. I would spend big in the 6 & 8 position only. They need to be starters.
