    How did your horn honk if you had the battery disconnected?

      Ha ha, good catch. I didn’t actually disconnect the battery. It’s just recommended as a safety precaution whenever working on the airbag system. Thanks for the comment!

    Good tutorial now I know how to remove the steering wheel, I search for videos on how to remove the Housing Key, but unfortunately, I found this tutorial late, I pay $500 to a mechanic to remove and change it.

    Just swapped one on my 2006. So I had to pull the hub cover back and leave a screwdriver in one side and use a second screwdriver to pop out the other side to release the airbag. Luckily new steering wheel came with another hub cover because I had to really force the first one out the way. Just thought this might help someone that has the same issue I had

    So I have a base model just like yours were you able to get the controls to work? If you have then how? I did the clockspring and wheel and the lights in the buttons don’t turn on

    Thanks for the video! Going to pull a wheel from a denali envoy tomorrow for my silverado. They look like the escalade/full size denali, but have chrome trim rings and a different type of wood iirc.

    What if my horn doesn’t honk when I put the airbag back on? Did I do something wrong

    • @onetgarage9429
      @onetgarage9429  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If the horn doesn’t work but was working before then the contact with the spring probably isn’t secured right. You may have to take it back off and make sure the contact is secured in the hole.

      @@onetgarage9429 I saw that in the video your Chevy does not have cruis control. is that so?
      I have a 2003 Silverado 3500 dually, I didn't have the cruis control, but changing the Combination Switch (Windshield Wiper + Turn Signal + Headlamp Dimmer + Cruise Control) now it works !!!
      Bought on amazon for $ 30 !!
      if I can find the video explaining how to do it, I'll send it to you. You just have to check that you have the pin in the steering tube (where all the electric cables pass). the pin is square

    Quick question does the buttons works ?

    • @RS-rn4ox
      @RS-rn4ox 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, there is no harness to connect them to. If your truck came with them originally then you would reconnect the harness plug during installation.

    • @BobMarley-vm5oy
      @BobMarley-vm5oy 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There's a video on here where a guy got his buttons to work. Have to replace the harness behind the steering wheel
