There have been a number of times when Arab governments were angry with Israel in front of the cameras, but behind the scenes were happy with what Israel was doing. That’s true where they were talking about dealing with Hamas, or dealing with nuclear reactors in Iraq.
Yep. Israel often does things that a lot of Arab leaders want to do, but know they can't.
@@ralphholiman7401well what's new arabs and Muslims are a bunch of cowards and always have been through all history. That's why they are good in terrorism. They only feel strong attacking and raping the weak but when faced with force the always lose, run away and cry. Pathetic
Also lets not forget Hamas was funded by Israel themselves so they can balance out Fatah. Well that backfired. Also the fact that Peter omits last wiki leaks leads me to conclusion he is 100% spokes person for CIA.
I think you mean nuclear reactors in Iran? Saddam spent money building palaces for himself, not power plants for the country.
Palestineans are massive troublemakers as evidenced by their behaviour in Lebanon, Jordan, Denmark and elsewhere. Its safe to say that Arabs dont want Palestineans in their own countries (recent example:Egypt closing its order) and would have no Problem with Israel killing them all. Cynical but true.
Sounds like their thought is “the enemy of my enemy is my entertainment”
The timing of the Hamas attack is convenient for one country, Iran. Saudi Arabia and Israel were about to sign a normalization pact. That pact was put on hold following Hamas' attack in Gaza as it reignited tensions between Jews and Muslims. Iran gains from this delay as it views the pact as a threat to its own interests as a regional power, a setback for the Palestinian cause they've long supported, and a violation of its religious beliefs. Iran considers the normalization pact a rapprochement between Saudi Arabia, a fellow Muslim nation albeit Sunni, and the West, whom they consider infidels.
Saudis and Iran had their own Chinese brokered negotiations on a cool off. What US is/was trying to do is build a hegemony with Israel and Saudis so that it could prioritize China per the Jake Sullivan / Brett McGurk doctrine.
It also benefits Russia
@@mvonwalter6927We all know those negotiations are just a de tante or a warming between the two in a Cold War but make no mistake they will NEVER be allies, unless they have a common enemy that’s about to destroy them. Too ideological opposed with different objectives in mind opposed to them
THE no. 1 reason for the timing. A Saudi/Israeli Abraham Accord was close.
They're both under threat if/when Iran gets nukes.
@@gvibration1 I still think this is largely coincidence. There continues to be no intel that Iran was coordinating anything and it was the 50th anniversary of the Yom Kippur War.
The people I talked to in Jordan hated having Palestinians in their country. They felt there were too many of them and they were a major drain on resources. I can't imagine Egyptians would be too keen on bringing them in either
Nobody likes having a bunch of refugees in their country. It's hypocritical of the US to demand Egypt or Jordan take Palestinians when they have a panic attack when Mexicans come into their country. If any country is obliged to take Palestinian refugees, it's Israel. They're causing the refugee crisis and the Palestinians are indigenous to Israel, not Egypt.
We feel the same in Canada.
Displacing such a vast amount of people at once is always going to create unrest. The same thing happened to the Jews but they had the backing of the west to strong arm the existence of a state, which they definitely deserved to have. The difference now is the Palestinians have no such backing and all Israel wants is the same thing the Palestinians want. From Jordan to the sea. They are essentially doing exactly what was done to them. I think they realize they can’t kill 2 million people and they can’t displace them at least not all at once. So they will occupy Gaza and slowly drive them out. Thing is it has to be stable in order for this to work. There is no military solution to this. It’s fucked up on so many levels, but fork their stand point what else can they do? They deserve peace as much as anyone else. Thing is the way they are going about things the whole world is losing sympathy.
“the people I talked to in jordan” no need to straight up lie 😭
@@1035Ghuraba I don't speak Arabic so I could only talk to people who speak English, but there were many people who did. No one but the guy who was driving us in Madaba. If there's one commonality between Western Politics and Middle Eastern Politics it's this: You should never take rhetoric at face value. Perhaps they knew Egypt wouldn't want it
History Debunked has a great video about how this is essentially a proxy battle between two factions of Islam
Yeeeeeaaaah, sunni and shia. But this time really I think it was Russia who pushed Iran to stir some shit in the area to get the world’s attention (and aid) away from ukraine. There are many layers to this conflict.
For several years now, we have found ourselves in a situation that could be termed WWIII, but because it does not resemble WWI or WWII, we do not recognize it as a coherent scenario. For Russia, it is beneficial if a larger war in the Middle East, or a protracted conflict of the type we have in Gaza, can redirect resources from Ukraine to Israel. China would prefer that many of the US's naval resources are located on the other side of the globe (from Taiwan's perspective). A famine in Egypt due to missed deliveries from Ukraine (and promises from Russia) could destabilize Egypt. The rest you can figure out for yourselves.

The combined wealth of the 3 topmost leaders of Hamas (who live in Quatar - well away from the conflict) have a combined net worth of 11 Billion USD. There are a few points that probably should be covered. The massive underground city under Gaza that cost tens of billions is evidence someone has been funding them big time. Hamas controls everything in Gaza period. Hamas has been funded and is continued to be funded by Iran. According to our State Dept. 2. Hamas skims the humanitarian money and supplies for itself (actually it's ~70% Hamas 30% Gaza spit). There has been a study done regarding the tunnels. On average each one is the equivalent of building 1 hospital, 4 schools, 88 apartments, and a store. There are hundreds underground. So you can consider this war a fund raiser for Hamas. 3. The current Biden admiration is not enforcing the oil sanctions so Iran went from $20B to $200B. ( this actually started under Obama, Trump did enforce them) Any thoughts Peter on why they are not enforcing them?
"someone has been funding them big time", yeah the UN which is largely funded by the US.
Our aid money
They shouldn't get nothing they are a terrorist organization!!!!!!!!
I've noticed some peculiaraties on vids from Gaza City. One is the unfinished appearance of a lot of the buildings. Many of them have no windows, just the arpetures for them. Not just no glass, but no frames. And interior stairs with no handrails. Not even the dumbest dumbass would do that. And in multiple images you can see glass windows in one building and not in 2 more right next to it. So they've probably been putting up facades to satisfy the organizations sending them aid money and stealing money left over. These facades would still make good shelter for troops, fighting positions, and camouflage for tunnels or weapons dumps. I know, bombs blew out windows, etc, but the frames as well?

It's s strange situation.
Egypt had control of Gaza at one point, and know it's a shit-show. They kicked out the Muslim Brotherhood from Egypt, which Hamas sprang from, so they know Islamic extremism when they see it, and they don't want to relive that. Bluntly, they'd rather Israel had the headache.
Jordan had a load of Palestinian refugees at one point, and had to put down a Palestinian uprising in Jordan before kicking them out. A lot of them ended up in Lebanon, which ended up in a civil war.
Saudi Arabia are enjoying prosperity and peace, so they don't want to get involved.
Meanwhile Iran are waving the anti-Israel flag and advising from a distance that everyone should go get Israel. They don't want to help the Palestinians too much, as they'd rather have them exactly where they are as a constant thorn in Israel's side, without costing Iran much more than some funding and training.
Meanwhile, a lot of people in the west seem to be falling for this, "woe is us, free Palestine" rhetoric, and ignoring the fact that Hamas kicked this off and are murder-junkies that need eradicating.
And you forgot when Kuwait booted nearly 400,000 of them in 1990 when they supported Saddam Hussein's invasion of their country.
And when Syria bounced Yasser Arafat and about 250,000 of them back in the early 80s.
And you forgot when Iraq sent about 400,000 packing right after his Saddam's death because they were hated so much.
And when the UAE in about 2010 throw out thousands of them for causing unrest.
So that's it. Those are the only ones. Just Egypt. Jordan. Syria. Lebanon. Iraq. Kuwait. Syria. And the UAE. Just every arab/muslim country within 2 countries of distance of "palestine."

My understanding of calling that area Palestine is a result you have to say if they are Jew, Arab, Christian.....Rome renamed it Palestine as an insult to Israel/Jews.
Excellent video...I would be very ticked if I was held hostage that my nation did nothing to free me..!!!...ppl forget that there are many hostages that are not Jewish...in fact, an American baby just 10 months old is among the hostages as well as a 3 year old American child..
What are you on about? It was the US that urged IDF to hold back on their ground invasion and prior bombardment solely bc there were US hostages still unaccounted for.
Those " americans" may still be ethnically jewish. Just trying to be helpful here. Obviously any hostage whether jewish or not taken by hamas is saddening. May Heaven help that they all be rescued soon.
How do you feel about the israel soing the same thing for generations? Yes be outraged for what happened to the civilians in Israel but never forget how israel abuses the Palestinians in the weat bank and Gaza- Muslims, non zionist jews, and Christians are treated like 2nd class citizens. Israel government is a fascist regime and follow the play book as hitler Germany
To me all nations are equal regardless their nationality. Nowadays being an American is definitely not an advantage as it seems
The last time Israel negotiated with terrorists, they traded the freedom of 1000 terrorists for the freedom of the hostage. So what happened next? Hamas takes hundreds of hostages. Do not be a fool.

It’s crazy how accurate Peter has been on this since the beginning. Heck. I’d loop this conflict into the Tanker Wars between Iran and the Saudis he has been talking about for nearly a decade.
I've spent a fair amount of time in the ME, and the one thing that no one is talking about is that the rest of the region absolutely despises the Palestinians. They are given the lowest paying, lowest status jobs of any group. I heard slurs and insults against them from just about who ever referenced them. They feel sorry for the Palestinians and hate Israel for what they did to the Palestinians, but that's really about it. I'm not sure why this is, but the disdain is obvious and everywhere.
I'm not trying to be nasty, just telling it like I saw it on the ground.
Does any Muslim country respect another Muslim country. I was under the impression they are all essentially different tribes, with what ever historical baggage that implies.
It's because in 1948 everyone told Palestine that they wouldn't win if they tried to destroy Israel, and they responded "it does not matter, we will drive them into the sea," and haven't changed their stance since. Eventually all the other middle easterners got sick of them picking fights they had no way to win, and trying to drag the rest of the middle east into it.
I believe this war will get a lot worse before long, because Israel is not going to stop no matter what any one tells them

I think your reasoning is speculative at best in this regard, Peter. My casual observation is that the Arab states won’t seek to solve the Palestinian-Israeli problem for as long as they seek the destruction of Israel as a whole - which is the only place where they find agreement. They encourage it and it doesn’t cost them much - Iran seems to have financed Hamas and the US and Israel feed them. The Palestinians offer a useful distraction to Israel for them - just look at the antisemitism that this conflict creates in the rest of the world. No they don’t want a solution. This works well for them.

@@familyguygaming_Wanting to absolve the only jewish majority state that was attacked in 48 purely for not being muslim is anti semetic.
@@familyguygaming_ Protestors yelling "gas the jews" in Australia disagrees with you, same with the markings of jewish homes in France and Germany.
It's like being a friend to a toxic couple and walking away when they start fighting. Not my problem and I'm not taking a side lmao
Hold on!
The previous vid was from CO too but it was snowing?!
WTH is going on?!
Nice
Hamas is already receiving aid though, it's not a lot but there's plenty of parties that would be more than happy to tie up Israel and waste as much of their time/money as possible. It's not that they're not receiving aid, it's more that it's somewhat difficult getting those supplies and such to their fighters for obvious reasons.
@@momartyrbingo😂😂 not to mention if you asked who would go to fight in Gaza side by side with the terrorists to free Palestine 😂😂😂 what a bunch of losers
The more aid they receive, the more they need and request. There are 180 babies born.... Per day! In one city! A city that's completely dependent on aid.
@@0myguess hamas shouldnt of played the F around Find out game.
Yeah Peter doesn’t know anything about this and speaking confidently as always or is just spouting propaganda.
@@pureruckuspower216570-90% of the people who have died in Gaza have been civilians so I guess Hamas hasn’t really found out anything
The largest refugee agency dealing in the world is for "Palestinians" The refugees want work with with these as they are the only organisation that automatically nationalises family lines. For example if your grandad was Jordanian and moves to America. He could say his a refugee from Palestine and his children and their children automatically are given the same status despite them being born in the States. This is just a simplified example. Now Kuwait's population was 18% "Palestinian" until they tried to over throw the government and they where all kicked out woman and children included. Similar situation in Jordan when they tried to over throw the monarchy. Around 1000 missies a year enter into Israel, you don't hear about it because the majority end up being shot down. From time to time they do make it and they hit peoples houses. These missiles are well documented to be fired from places like school playgrounds with children cheering them on. Or from apartment blocks, markets basically large of amounts of onlookers. The news in Gaza are controlled by Hamas and are not independent so the stories always have 10x casualties and there are plenty of videos showing evidence of this. There are plenty of Muslim Arabs that live in Israel have Israeli passports and can come and go as they please, have the right to vote ect. If you look in neighbouring countries the majority of the jews have been kicked out with Egypt having less than 100 rather than the 10000's they used to have same with surrounding countries. If people knew the truth about what actually happens they wouldn't be marching with the Palestinian flags. It's easy to get confused when you have a military superior neighbour vs a multi million dollar media facility pumping out news articles of oppression backed by millions of Muslims pumping and siding straight with the Palestinians no questions asked. Its like the west bank houses, arabs build them get paid, jews move in then they go back and say they are illegal settlements...... jews dont build. Lots of arabs moveed to israel post ww1 and 2 because the british and french offered them jobs to build rail ways ect.
*Zionist in the chat*
So wait a sec. You're saying when Palestinians get kicked out it's totally justified, but when Jews get kicked out then its because those Muslims dont like Jews and that's wrong?
Its nice with pitta bread and olives though.
Olives with the stone left in do seem to taste better.
Yes Hammas is a nice dip.
I know Peter has to sit down to compose this because while these talks have extemporaneous feel to them, he must do some outlining and even research before each one. The arguments are too well organized. Which means he outlines these and then decides to take a walk in some interesting location and film them. Which is kind of a weird flex when it comes to foreign policy discussions but I really works for him.
No doubt he preps / thinks thru his talks beforehand, Robert. But, his penchant for such "no notes" casual presentations is a testament to his fluidity around and absolute mastery of his mat'l. I remember one recent briefing from his hotel room as he dressed for a speaking engagement somewhere: 5 minutes, one continuous take, his usual heavy-duty astute commentary, all while simultaneously tying a perfect Windsor knot. If I were capable of pulling off such a stunt, I'm sure I would do it, too.
@@larryrobx, yup. If you asked me to brief you on early 20th-Century steam engines &, say... how today's nuclear energy technologies benefit from those earlier works & inventions, I could definitely do that while driving a cab.

@@CoffeeAndPaulIndeed, Paul. One or two topics for you and me, probably. But, for Peter here, it seems to be zillions ...
Before the Hamas attack, Israel and the GCC were working on a deal that would have left Hamas out in the cold. The attack just sped up the process.
