      Have all that as well. But use that stuff so often I dont carry it in my tool kit but rather in my glove box for fast access. I should of mentioned that in the video. Thanks for mentioning this stuff. Definitely must have items!

    Hi there from Ouray, Colorado! I just want to give a follow up. I had watched your video about a year ago and ordered most of these items (there were a few items that were out of stock at the time, so I filled the gap with some harbor freight options) for our travel trailer. I have to say....I am in that tool kit just about every trip for some kind of tinkering, adjusting, or repairing. Thank you very much!
    PS. Ha...i had just watched your video on the motorcycle rack for your hunting bicycle. And while watching it, I was thinking "I know that voice from somewhere". Then I watched your Intex Explorer Kayak video, got to see more of your face, and then remembered the tool kit video.
    Happy hunting! We live in the high country of Colorado. We were doing our last mountain camping trip in our travel trailer, of the season as we've got snow 3 times so far and the forest service roads are closing. It was the first day of hunting season as we were pulling out; which was good as we let our dog roam around. But...just because it is winter, we don't stop our travel trailer trips. We are fortunate to only be 1.5 hours from the desert too; so we try to camp a week or two, monthly through winter (depending on my work schedule).
    Safe travels!

    Good Kit, will take a look at a few of the tools. A tool roll may be useful to carry it as it helps to keep organized and easily accessed. One of the items I have found quite useful in my kit is a Silky folding saw, they are a bit more expensive but well made and quite useful for pruning stuff to get by or cutting boards for repairs.
    Thanks for the info. Possibly just getting into RVs.

      Yep the saws are great. I love the silky and the ars saws. I keep a silky pocket boy in my truck at all times

    Great video!! Your kit covers a lot of what a homeowner will actually use their tools for.
    I was thinking that it would be smart to spend the money and get a good socket set and just throw in 2 adjustable wrenches.

    • @SamkoTradBow
      @SamkoTradBow  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yep a socket set and adjustable wrenches is a great start. Doesnt have to be a "good" or expensive set. Walmart or amazon have great sets for great prices and then you have some money left over for some screwdrivers and combination wrenches and other tools.

    Super good Jason. I think you actually save a little money by making your own anyway, and you can put a little higher quality tool where you think you might need it. A good multi tool is a good addition.

    Great tool kit!! Now...how do you use them?-- newbie here.

    • @SamkoTradBow
      @SamkoTradBow  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That comes for situations popping up and then having to solve it. TH-cam how to do the task you need to and it will show you. Once a few of those happen you will aquire the tool skills. But have the tools so you are ready for whatever task comes up.

    Do you prefer hard case tool boxes or the tool bags you have shown? I have a tool box and thinking I may need another portable storage for more tools to accommodate our fleet (2 trucks, 2 motorcycles)

      I personally like the soft bags for a mobile or portable kit. Makesnit easy ro stuff behind a seat etc.

    Found this video a year later but have a question. Do you think a 17 year old should buy a similar kit for my 1988 ford ranger?

    • @SamkoTradBow
      @SamkoTradBow  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I sure do. Not only will it be nice to have a kit in the truck it will also be a fantastic tool kit for when you move out, go to college etc. Perfect full tool kit to jave until you settle down jave a house and have a garage to put a full tool set in.

    Some wire could come in handy for hanging exhaust pipe.

    • @SamkoTradBow
      @SamkoTradBow  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Zip ties are cheap and ubiquitous; wire is the real deal. Whether it's SS safety wire, scrap Romex or fencing wire, it never hurts to have something on hand to rig with.
