I'm looking into building a mobil coffee cart - as I'm also have a side business importing coffee and coffee equipment from italy I got some extra inside.. I will go with a lever machine which is heated via propane gas and needs just 200w.. With a grinder I would need under 1000 W For indoor event there are acctualy small 2 group machines which 110V (msrp under $2000 -made in Italy with 100% italian parts)
Hey Vince! This video was extremely helpful! My partner and I are planning on opening a mobile coffee sprinter van and we're getting a generator and are in between a 2 group La Marzocco GB5 / 2 group Rocket Doppia / or 2 group Sanremo Zoe!
Thks for the video! Thought provoking. Do you think there is any advantage of getting two single head expresso makers, so if working a wedding or other in door event, you could set up two expresso stations.
Hey Vince, Thanks so much for the knowledge you bring of the trailer and cart side of the biz. Love your stuff. I've been in the coffee industry for about 2 decades and I'm finally at a spot where I'm ready to do my own gig, so your details about the cart side are really helpful as that aspect is newer to me. Hey, so we are definitely going to go the one group head route to start and add the two group later next year but what have you used or are using that you trust for the purpose of a smaller trailer. Your stuff has really excited me about launching here in a few months! Cheers to you bro!
Hey Tim, I'm a big fan of single boiler Astoria. I've added two to my website: www.greenjoecoffeetruck.com/collections/espresso-machines/products/espresso-machines-2?variant=32119090806873
Hey Joe. I'm setting up a cart for my daughter and son-in-law. They have a Linea Mini, grinder, Shurflo water pump and small fridg. I can't find any wiring setups for this type of cart. I'm thinking a 115/20 amp setup should cover the needed power. Any help would greatly appreciated.
Hey Sally, the spec sheet shows the Linea coming in at 15 amps. That leaves only 5 amps for Grinder, Shurflow and fridge. You're getting a little close. Maybe making the pump 12v and putting on a battery to charge during off times? Not sure. Double check the wattage though, because it looks tight...
@@GreenJoeCoffeeTruck can you kindly elaborate? im wanting to start a mobile coffee van to cater for festivals, events and office parks. my thoughts are that a bean-to-cup machine will pump out way more coffees than an espresso machine but with a slight knock on quality and theatrics.

Also, cold brew can be heated at festivals and will blow the espresso machine & the bean to cup out of the water! I can heat 32 gallons every 90 minutes. That's roughly 4 cups a minute. I havent found a festival that can sell me out using that technique. And I've been the only coffee/hot chocolate vendor for 30k crowds and kept up no issue. So as far as festivals, I'm cold brew all the way. But for weddings, corporate events, you'll need an espresso machine. And my recommendation is to buy astoria...

What are your thoughts on a 1 group propane boiler powered by a couple deep batteries hooked up to a 2000w inverter?

Cool. Hope this helps!
How about having 2 individual one group head machines? Thanks!
Doesn't by you much for steam power, but will keep you afloat in the event you get back to back Americano orders...
There are some advantages to this system. Just depends on what kind of truck/cart you wanna run...

Is there a 110v 1 group commercial machine that can be plumbed? I really like the LaMarzocco Linea mini, but the US model can't be plumbed...
The Astoria Divina ain't sold anymore. What's the replacement
Concerning your Astoria: are you running automatic or semi? Approx. weight? Any other machines you considered/compared yours to?
Semi. 200 dry. 240 wet. I havent experimented with others. Astoria for me!

What size generator do you need to run the Divina SAE 2 ?
Depends how it's wired, but at least 5k running with 220 circuit.
So you need a 30amp plug coming of the generator and that would run probably the whole truck?
