I have a 1969 westfalia VW camper bus. Is it still possible to have one of the awnings where you can have it right beside your bus and still hook it up to avoid rain, flies, etc?
Hi Simon, I love the older VW keep asking if we can have one for display at the showroom. Unfortunately I'm not very good on the older stuff as i don't have a great deal of experience with them. I would try on the the T2 forums. Thanks for watching
@@CaliforniaChris The Khyam awnings come with open ended trips of plastic which are the bead and hook over the gutter. You just need to keep it tight so it fixes.
Is there a California in Australia- or England, still have a hard time telling the difference... I'm a Hawaii and Nor. CA. boy- what set you claim holmes? :) *A.
Hi Looking at a camper but unsure as I have arthritis. How hard work is it setting the seats up for bedtime. Are there any particular conversions which are better than others etc?
Hi Darren, setting the bed up on the Cali Ocean or Beach (using the 2 seat bench) is relatively easy as you pull the bench forward the push the back rest down, so two movements. However it will depend on your arthritis as the two movements require pulling a lever and a strap which can be a little stiff. Rock n Roll beds on conversions could be easier as one lever then the front moves down (have seen an electric version). A ribbed bed is a little more involved moving the the three sections. I would pop into your local Cali dealer and try the bed and then do the same with a conversion company. Or if you have time around go to one of the Camper shows as you will see lots to have look at. We will be at CamperJam 5-7th July at Weston Park. Thanks for watching and hope this helps Chris
Hi Chris, Thank you for all these videos they are a huge help! I am torn between the awning kit or a drive away awning...just me and my dog...Im mid 60s and have the VW Caifornia T6.1 (sitting in the garage :( )...any advice?
For info, the ones described as Coleman (5:32 ish) are actually Outdoor Revolution awnings ;-)
What’s best to buy for a transit custom swb
Because I camp/travel with my 🐈 cats and dog 🐕 my primary interest is how it connects to the van so they stay IN and creepy crawlies stay OUT.
It was a good show
Great vid, I don’t think I’ll bother with the kador rail, bungee cord me thinks.
Good choice!
Background sound is competing with info. Recommend re-editing.
Same! I cant focus on info on any video with too much background sound! A lot of people can, just sucks when you cant filter what you are hearing!
Have you seen any that are compatible with a gullwing side door?
Chris, is this figure of eight connection available on the side awning for the Gtand California aswell??

Drive away for me
we have vango and find it a bind to fit to the van T6 would not recommend it to anyone anyone would like to bye a 2020 vango get in touch
Most important how awning attaches to van. My opinion you need to improve your presentation
Very informative but The background music needs to go
I'm planning on making an updated video of this. I made this 5 years ago with a lot less video experience.
Just get a fucking hotel room.
Where's the fun in that!?
A really bad presentation music to loud heavy accent he explains most not enough visual
terrible video....not enough time on each awning and how it hooks in to van
