I still live in the mobilehome, i have nobody to impress. its mortgage and utilities free. Each rental also gives leverage to buy the next home.i did this without taking an equity loan. Im also driving a 97 ford expedition with 350k miles. I paid $1300 and it looks rough, 😊 but she gets the job done.
My cousin is an accountant…she lives in a rundown part of town paying less than $600 per month living in a shotgun house. She keeps her head down, looks broke, but paid off her student loans in record time and bought a cash car. I regret it that she told me that one of the units next to her opened up and I had someone tell me…”why would you move over there? I wouldn’t put my dog over there…” but she is totally on the right path. Smart af. I’m proud of her.
My first apt was in a rough neighborhood. My family was appalled. 😂😂I kept to myself. Nobody bothered me. I finished nursing school in that apt. Bought my first car. 33 days after i got my new car, somebody stole the tires off of it and left it in the alley around the corner. I said I would never move out of the hood, but after they stole from me...I was gone. 😅😅 Had I kept my hooptie and stayed...I'd probably be a millionaire by now, and nobody would've ever known.

Your dollars are rotting in the bank and you’re essentially giving the bank money to loan out and profit off of. at least put that in a money market savings account (5% yield, last I checked).. Start putting some in a ROTH IRA as well.. you're off to a good start.. keep it going..

This time last year I moved from Malawi to the UK with just £100. Today I have 60× that invested in different assets. My wife and I are currently doing a challenge to live on 1 of our salaries while saving the other's salary. This video has given me an idea on how to save even more. Thanks Alex.
@@KeepitReal-x6g if you can move to a new country with just $120, furnish a new home, pay your bills, taxes and still accumulate over $10K in savings within 12 months, well then good on you.
I was with you up to the point you talked about a 20 year old saving for 55 years. It's a great premise but the idea that you will make it that long is inherently flawed. At some point there needs to be a balance between enjoying life and planning for the future. None of us make it out alive.
That's why he says disregard "S&M for now", what he illustrates is the most conservative approach possible. In reality, once you start hitting some thresholds, you move on to higher returns,, as he said, you get "on the offensive". He's just illustrating the lowest bar.
I love the not so subtle jab at influencers and people who rent private jets that sit on tarmacs to film their vids or do their photoshoots Appreciate the wisdom, this is good stuff
Alex has found the new flex: Instead of sitting in fake jets or jets on the ground floor, he films in a real jet while real flying somewhere to mess up the sound quality, but flex to be able to afford actually a flight. 😉 Just kidding, Alex does not have to flex, just pure efficiency not filming when it is convenient, but filming wisdom, so no optimation is needed due to the raw quality of content. Elon Musk once said: A very good product does not need to be marketed or sold, not even need a logo or brand. This is gold, so no need of wrapping paper.

I just bought a used 2020 Toyota Corolla hatchback in August after having many beaters.I was always fixing something and it feels great getting into a reliable car and now I gotta give it up😳
Righttt!! Samee im 33 and from the time i started driving till i was 30 i drove beater after beater and i spent soooo much money when they’d eventually (sooner than later) break down, have problems, etc. finally i got my 2021 mitsubishi exlipse gently used off the dealership had 5,000 miles on it was basically brand new for 14k, and im wishing i had done this yearsss ago!!! 😂
Yes, same here. I was driving my kids around in a 2001 Honda accord that ran okay, but ever 2-3 months, something would come up that would put me out $200-$1000. I live in the high desert, and I had my kids in the car with me in 114-degree weather, and one day, the starter completely gave out. That was my final straw. If you're commuting everywhere, it's not worth it to have a clunker.
I'm a 43 years old man in NYC, that's totally overwhelmed by my current financial situation. Never thought I was going to end up in a shelter after I lost everything in a rented uninsured apartment fire this year. I just have $2,000 saved; a student loan of $18,000; a Job as a caretaker $550/week after criminal taxes are taken; and my teenage son in Dominican Republic, that I'm supporting. Trying to make sense on how to apply your info in my life, everything seems difficult right now.
You live in a city which has some of the highest cost of living in the world. Buy a bus ticket to Texas, tennesse, or FL a place with no state income tax and work at fast food or become a waiter. Food service is is always in need of employees. Stop paying your student loans (unless they are federal) I know this sounds immoral but survival of you and your son take precedent. Your credit will recover in 3-5 years especially with healthy buying habits. Good luck. I've lived in a van for 2 years before I got to where I am today.
@@benjohnson4604 Just b/c Texas doesn't have state taxes, doesn't mean we don't get heavy property taxes. Which gets pushed down to tenants. I pay more than the price of a new car note, in property taxes for one unit.
@@nm3547not sure that is a useful argument for a guy who is living in NYC on $550 take home. Let’s not pretend that Texas taxes people or has cost of living like New York City.
So basically buying a pair of $200 shoes for yourself today is like buying your kid a pair for $6000 in the future. You wouldn't do the second purchase. I've never looked at the future value of money from this perspective. Great point of view! Maybe if we shorten the time period and add inflation to the conclusion the ratio would be like x10 instead of x30. From now on I'll x10 the prices of my luxury purchases and see if I really want it.
The way I look at it, is that $200 is taking $6k from your children or grandchildren in the future. If the thing is going to help you, or your family in learning, experience, etc. maybe you’d right that $6k check at 80, but if you wouldn’t, maybe reconsider. I look at it as a dollar equals $31 in 30 years. Would the ‘30 years from now’ you see (or understand given hindsight obviously) the value for you currently? If so, go for it without hesitation. If not, don’t. Funny enough, I came to this number based on very similar math from Alex, maybe we have the same mutual funds haha
9% average return is unrealistic in my opinion. 5-6% would be more accurate, and yeah you need to take real inflation into account which would eat about half of the value
@matlal19 news flash, real inflation is at least 9% to 12%. The government fudges those numbers to make them look better than they actually are. Eg. If prices of steak relative to chicken is increasing such that more people end up buying chicken, the inflation metric drops steak from the equation and includes the chicken. They always present a much rosier picture than the truth. On the flip side, there are plenty of ways to get 10% or 12% return... not SAP but you can do real estate or other investments.
How very motivational speaker of you. I’ve never had much money. I’ve been broke many times. There’s not a single time in my life I could relate to that quote. Still can’t. Sounds good though.
Bro, this was extremely eye opening. I've been seeing your stuff all over social media and Skool etc and haven't really looked into your content until now and this blew my mind. The way you explain everything is so straight forward and honest compared to so many others around your level. I'm going to try the 30 day challenge starting Jan 1st with my business and the program im currently studying remote sales in and see what i can achieve!
It's so validating to hear Alex say it's good to be a single car family. We are. My husband car pools with his coworkers and I have the vehicle (which we bought for $2800) to drive to work and run errands.
Yeah, I commute 3 hours on a bike just to save. Sucks because I've gotten ran over 3 times In the dark. Too broke to afford a light. But saves me money.
I want to compliment you, you have said it all. I am a little business owner and I really want to expand my business to the next level by making myself an investor but I really don't know how to go about it..
This time last year I considered crypto without much knowledge and decided to have a consultation with a fiduciary, and it was incredibly insightful. I got into the market with 15k, One year and a couple of months in, and I’m up with 550k. I truly cannot stress enough how helpful experts in this field are!
One interesting thing to note is that some people don't know how to downsize. Seems like more often than not, people need to be told what to do. Or if necessity, I was homeless, slept in my car, my wife and I worked 18 hours a day to save up $15k to buy an RV, which we lived in for 2 years. It wasn't legal, but it was what we had to do during an unexpected unemployment. Fast forward, we got a bitcoin, investing, and working on getting out of debt at the same time. Never buy anything new... ever
Great advice about getting a nice $5,000 used car, however I would recommend against the advice to only have one vehicle, especially if you have a cheaper used car, it could be extremely beneficial to just have a super beater on standby that is known to be mechanically reliable. This car doesn't have to exceed a couple thousand dollars in value, but it will be worth its weight in gold if something goes out on your presumably 10 year old vehicle like an alternator or a starter out of nowhere. If you have decent insurance this should only be an extra small amount of money per month. That way the hustle doesn't have to stop.

Henry Ford didn't institute the 40 hour work week out of the goodness of his heart, it was because productivity went up. Companies give you weekends off so that you can work harder during the week.
Is that something he said or an assumption, not having a crack I'm just interested if he stated anything like that. It's also interesting that companies are embracing a 4 day work week as it creates even more productivity than the traditional 40 hour week.

WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WOULD WORK TWO JOBS FOR 55 YEARS ????? ITS NOT PRACTICAL IF YOU WANT A FAMILY. I WORKED TWO JOBS AND IT TAKES ATOLL ON YOUR HEALTH .
@ look short time I get it but for 55 years come on let’s be real. If you plan on having a family, your wife will be having an affair hundred percent or you w you’ll get a divorce. And your children will resent you because you’re never there and they I’ll see everybody’s father at the game except you.

As a person whose hour isn't worth very much (still studying), try do other high value activities in your free time. Learn meal-planning/meal-prepping. Learn to mend your clothes and repair your stuff. It doesn't take that much time and it can safe a lot of money. I do it, so I free up more of my husbands time, because he has a higher earning-potential than me. Some people don't want to work all day to come home to a depressing life. Maybe you can fix that. Make your husband come home to a healthy, cheap and tasty meal. Of course that's only applicable if it doesn't make financial sense for you to do extra work and just pay a cleaning/cooking service.

My first thought is: having a lump sum in your final years helps you pads in peace. Our final years may be less energetic, less able to provide for ourselves in the moment. Struggling to still care for oneself at that age can be avoided by the work we put in today. This of course in addition to any idea of a legacy, whether it be children, passing on a business that brings value to others, funding organizations that uplift the world, or having the ability to change someone's life of your choosing. Options are endless, but we must give our future selves the ability to choose between them

I love the not so subtle jab at influencers and people who rent private jets that sit on tarmacs to film their vids or do their photoshoots
Appreciate the wisdom, this is good stuff
Alex has found the new flex: Instead of sitting in fake jets or jets on the ground floor, he films in a real jet while real flying somewhere to mess up the sound quality, but flex to be able to afford actually a flight. 😉 Just kidding, Alex does not have to flex, just pure efficiency not filming when it is convenient, but filming wisdom, so no optimation is needed due to the raw quality of content.

The problem with this is we’re going in such a way that the 200 dollar trainers are going to be worth 6000 then if you kept them good 😂
The way I look at it, is that $200 is taking $6k from your children or grandchildren in the future.
Shoes will probably cost $6000 in 40 years at this rate anyways, buy the Jordan’s 😂
Key is not trying to impress people you don’t know which you don’t like with money you don’t have and doing what you want to do.

Hi Alex, Thanks for sharing…we need more people like you that actually believe that we can do better in our finances
Never buy anything new... ever
I just transfered $100 to my savings! Gonna have $1200 by next year! Better than nothing!
I totally agree with the idea of getting rid of the car and starting to use private jets. Safer, more comfortable, lets you make YT videos.

2 mid-engine Euro exotic cars in the garage, been buying those new, paying cash, since that IPO. Every few years a new one.

The first time you sell a house & fill up a dumpster with crap you filled the house with, the novelty of buying stuff will likely be over. With that satiated you can start investing.
The exotic cars is the only extravagance. Wear Walmart shoes, shirts, pants, everything. Some from Amazon.

As a person whose hour isn't worth very much (still studying), try do other high value activities in your free time. Learn meal-planning/meal-prepping. Learn to mend your clothes and repair your stuff. It doesn't take that much time and it can safe a lot of money.
Options are endless, but we must give our future selves the ability to choose between them
74 is still young, if you exercise & eat well!

Competition is on peak and now era is changed .
Nowadays dropshipping , e-commerce, Amazon is tough
Just create a new USP markets change everyday
@jhardworkpaysoff474 what is USP?
The problem with today's market is that if you invent something, Chinese companies rip it off about 4 Weeks later and sell it for a lot cheaper.
The USA and other First world countries are supposed to have intellectual property protections but in practice they don't exist
@jhardworkpaysoff474 you are also changing everyday , watching your success 😑🙌
😂😂😂😂😂Was 1000% going to make a joke about Private Jet Prop Sets, 1:48 Alex is scary in tuned
Nah your joke was just unoriginal
Thank you, this is amazing video. I am making nice money and don’t have debt but in 2024 I started tracking my expenses and realized how much I am actually spending. I started making decisions to save more already. And this video is great motivation to continue, I am on the right track. Best financial content nowadays on TH-cam!
Why do billionaires and multi millionaires still need to make money selling courses on TH-cam? Never made sense to me
Because they enjoy sharing knowledge, getting attention, and also love making money otherwise wouldn't be multi millionaires
If you think Alex sales courses, then you're wrong... stop being a hater and get to work dude
There's a difference between a random selling a COURSE to become rich, and a rich person making content to advertise himself and his businesses. It's silly to think you cant go further making content nowadays.
They don't but allot of them donate to charities and into.communities that the government. Doesn't. We need our money going o.to.people trying to change the world and give value
Alex is so good. This is free information. The value is incredible. Thank you.
I'm down to $5k, but I've seen 23 states, made music, acted in theatre, studied calculus, enjoyed romance, etc. Wouldn't trade any of it to have just delivered mail in the same place saving maybe $10k per year. Getting to $1M isn't as easy as he makes it sound here anyway. Rent, food, and gas almost doubled since COVID while wages stayed the same.
First part of your comment was awesome. Last part screams victim. You can still do it. While having had all these cool memories.
Thanks for this video bro! Currently getting my business off the ground. A lot of highs a lot of lows and I'm grateful for both.
This is something to just really help added to my financial literacy.
