i finally understood... she realized that if she killed what she loved...kashern..... in doing what she loved witch was fighting and receiving the rush of battle...uuuhh ...she would loes him.... is that why she cried...?
@@harpseal9234 She loved him for what he was, and wanted to kill him to end his suffering. In a way, she's probably seeking her own death. However, when she stabs Casshan, the feeling that she'll lose him sinks in. So, she's happy that she could have ended his suffering, but laments that she would in turn lose him.
I really loved this episode it was my fav on Casshern Sins! It's a bummer Sophita doen't show up again..I really liked her, you could feel such attachment for her and understand her in a way.
it would've been nice, but I think what makes those characters really good is how self contained they are. It would've been nice to see them in the final episodes, but I think most of their arcs are completed by the end more or less.
In battle, one displays many colors. Light or Dark. How one fights determines those colors. Sophita had displayed both Light and Dark. She wishes to end Casshern out of both her love for him and her love of battle. But in the end, her love for Casshern demanded that she turn away from wanting him to die. There is a lot more bitter in this fight than sweet. This anime is, in my opinion, very artistic despite it's apocalyptic theme.
Im so deeply in love with this Anime. The music, the caracters and the story...it's perfect. And surely the animation! Never seen such a beautiful animation!!
It is very nice to she warriors like Sophita. She doesn't fight for a good or evil cause. She just fights because she loves it, because it's when she feels truly alive. Not many warriors in anime like that, not any I've seen anyway.
Sophitia's a little odd but I like her. She has an interesting, quirky personality and amazing fighting skills, really wish she was utilized for more than one episode in this anime.
I think that most people watch this show and click through it and do not appreciate that it s not a mindless anime shonen. It holds up a mirror to you and gives you introspection. I hate that some people cant appreciate that casshern sins is a masterpiece with intentional open ends. Its like making a gourmet dish and feeding it to a dog
Casshern is the most beautiful and deep anime I've seen in years. Best soundtrack, great voice acting and drawings and above all the atmosphere of a dying world
Wow, this was uploaded in early 2009. And toonami aired this in like 2013. Had no idea it was this old. Anyway, this is one of the most serious animes I have ever seen, and I still think it's a masterpiece.
What I love about this is we can get attached to Sophita and feel for her in a way yet we get her in one episode and act as if we've been with her all series. I love that about Casshern the feel you get and connecting in one episode. So good, so glad I finally watched this.
Anyone else find this fight really sexual, down to its dialogue? I dont mean sexual like it's wrong or perverted but more in a freudian/psychosexual way.
The director himself has said that the sensual aesthetic of multiple characters was done on purpose. Casshern was made to breed. His beauty and power clash as he displays both masculine and feminine traits. Empathy and kindness rage against sternness and an urge to protect those he loves. Sophita is his opposite. Her outward form is beautiful, she is even dressed in something akin to battle lingerie. But inside she has an urge to dominate and destroy, to prove herself the better machine. Gender is such a weird concept when you apply it to war machines incapable of breeding.
I was a fan of Casshan, both the original and the OVAs (to a lesser extent). After reading the description for the Sins, I expected it to be terrible. However, it was actually really well done and was pretty faithful to the characters. The show had a certain sense of gravity that was missing before. The whole thing is sad, yet beautiful. All of that said, Friender felt a little shoehorned into it, especially since he wasn't the powerhouse he was in the original.
I think this is more about strong feelings conveyed through actions (Sophita) not about love itself, she loved doing things so passionately that she hurt others and Casshern thought her that it wasn't right/necessary, you can show what you feel without hurting others so he let her stab him and accept her feelings of passion (not love) and calm her down and then she realized how much pain she was causing him so she started to cry, she just used ruin as an excuse to herself for not realizing before. You can't really talk about love as it is in this series because the nature of the characters (although there is romantic love in some parts) Casshern almost being death itself became in love of life and the passion of the people trying to live that he took the job of being bringer of death to those who forgot what it means to be alive.
the mind blowing thing is that this anime's predecessor is basically for children... whoever decided on remaking it just gabed a random anime and said "let's make art out of shit"
@@TUZOIVAN16 Umakoshi, the chara designer made Saint Seiya Omega chara design few years after Casshern. And as Shingo Araki, he worked on a very big range of works (Berserk, My Hero Academia, Mushishi, Magical Doremi, Heartcatch Precure)

This was probably the highlight from the anime for me. (The song was powerful too, despite the engrish but considering this is far in the future I was oddly okay with the english not being accurate without it ruining immersion.) A shame the anime kinda goes off the deep end later on. Much symbolism in it and the first half was powerful and relatable, but the anime lost me near the end when things got just a bit too weird.
She finally pinned him near the end and basically was grinding on his lap saying "I caught onisan!" (She didnt realize WHAT she was doing to him though.lol)

She wanted to kill him because Casshern is tired of his immortality so killing him would fulfil his desire and she wants to fulfil his desires because she loves him but it's also because of that love for him that she doesn't want him to die. It's like how even when you're mom is a vegetable in a bed you can't bring yourself to unplug her even if that's what she wants.
Casshern could've scrapped her in a millisecond. But he chose not to. And she wants to kill him out of love? That's the thing you see in anime most of the time

Casshern sins, ergo proxy and all the gems of anime, I miss them the most
Casshern Sins is probably one of the few shows other than Gungrave's anime adaptation that has shown me how beautiful it is that we are able to die.
